The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 133: CHAPTER HUNDRED AND THIRTY-THREE
"What do you mean you can't find her? It's been almost an hour and you are telling me she vanished into thin air?” I heard him snap at the guard he was grilling for information.
“I'm sorry Alpha but I think the prisoner we brought in last must have kidnapped her, he's not in the dungeon,”
“I've known that since Ares went in there but they can't be far off. The gate is secured and there's no way he can escape with her so they're still in this pack so find them!” He screamed and I began to feel bad about everything.
“Alpha, something tells me she wasn't actually kidnapped, maybe –” Fang began but Axel cut him off.
“Don't be silly, why would my mate want to run away from us? There's no part of the last twenty-four hours that would even suggest that. So when a prisoner who had tried kidnapping her on two occasions goes missing, tell me what that means?” He snapped at his friend.
Somehow I was grateful it wasn't Fang that helped me cut the ties because with the way it turned out, he would have probably hurt the poor warlock.
Looking at the frustration on his face and how he was so wrong, I began to feel really bad. Maybe there was another way but I couldn't see it. No matter how free they were with me, especially compared to Kane, they wouldn't willingly let me dive into the mouth of danger just because I felt guilty.
But I'd gone too far and couldn't turn back now.
I stayed a bit far so he wouldn't scent me but I knew that was short-lived so I knew I needed a distraction.
“Seriously, Aurora, what on earth are you doing?”” Elena exclaimed in my head and I sighed.
“Fine, but you must swear to keep quiet about it at least until I'm gone,”
Axel was pacing around the small garage and I guess he noticed his car keys were gone and was expecting Flynn in this direction.
Which meant that he wasn't going to be leaving anytime soon.
Shit!
“Ugh! Fine! Talk to me. It better not be something stupid though,” she warned.
“I'm going after the people responsible for all of this and Flynn is taking me there since he knows the location and my mates would definitely not let me be used as bait so I have to do this on my own,” I explained to her, hoping she'd get it and leave alone to concentrate because it seemed Axel was beginning to smell my scent.
I guess losing the mate bond was fucking with their senses just like mine because on a normal day, they would have caught me a long time ago.
“Alone? Girl don't be tripping. Where are you, I want to come along,” Elena said and her voice indicated that she was already on the move.
“You're serious?” I asked, disbelief in my tone.
Maybe they'd convinced her to fish me out or something, but then, Elena was not loyal to any of my mates, well, ex-mates. I hate how that sounds in my head now.
“Of course. I'm not sure I can convince you to change your mind and I'm not going to be comfortable knowing you're out there having revenge all by yourself so let me come with you, okay?” She said and I took a deep breath.
Maybe it won't be so bad trusting someone but I wasn't going to take the chance just like that.
“Fine, the only thing in our way right now is Axel so if you can create a distraction then teleport to the pack gates, that'll be great,” I told her and she began moving.
I didn't even want to imagine what she'd done but whatever it was must have been really serious because Axel paused for a second and ran off in the opposite direction, thankfully, and we were about rushing out of our hiding spot when a horde of guards also ran in the same direction.
“Girl, what did you do?” I wondered out loud.
“Shhh!” Flynn shushed me but I rolled my eyes at him.
In less than a minute, they were all over to the other side of the pack and we ran as fast as possible into the jeep we'd come back from DarkMoon Pack with and we drove off.
I guess whatever she'd done to change their direction had expired because I looked back and I could see Ares in his wolf form thundering down the path.
“Match the fucking pedal, Flynn!’ I shouted in fear and trepidation, my blood pressure spiked up.
The car went as fast as possible and even though there were still a few guards at the gate, they couldn't stop a moving car obviously.
I knew we had definitely not escaped them so when we saw Elena down by the road, I opened the door while the car was in motion.
“Can you do it?” I asked her in our mind and she nodded quickly.
I watched with my heart in my throat as we sped past her, not even understanding the dynamics of what I'd asked her to do.
Somehow I'd come to see witches as capable of anything but as I looked down the road, I was scared something must have gone terribly wrong because I didn't see Elena.
“What are you looking for?”
“Ahhh!” I screamed for the third time today.
What was it with everyone trying to spook me to death today?
“How did you do it?” I asked breathlessly while closing the door firmly.
“Oh, once the door is open, teleportation isn't that hard besides, I've been in this car before,” she replied.
“I don't think that's what she's talking about. How did you deflect their attention from that car pack? I was so sure they'd caught on to us,” Flynn asked from the front seat.
“Who is he and why is he talking to me?” Elena asked, irritated because the last time they'd encountered each other, well, it wasn't under wonderful circumstances.
I'm sure Flynn would be terrified of spiders for the rest of his life.
“I explained the plan earlier, without him, we won't be able to get to the people behind this and now that you're here, I'm sure he won't get any funny ideas,” I told her, trying to calm her down before this went awry.
“I understand you, he should simply keep his trap shut while at it. He's the one benefiting from this suicide mission of yours. I wonder how you actually expect to escape from them. My magic is strong but we don't even know what we're dealing with here,”
“So why are you coming with us?”
“Flynn please shut up and focus on your driving,” I snapped at him and switched the conversation to the mindlink I shared with Elena.
“I'm bringing Lyra with us but I don't want him to know and now that you're here, my plan is gaining structure. You'll fly her and simply burn everything to ashes,”
“With you in there?”
“I'm made of lava, silly! I can't burn,” I replied with a wry smile.
“Then let's do it! I really hope they don't get too upset though,”
“The mate bond has been dissolved. I'm sure they'll be happy not to have me in their lives anymore. I'm too much trouble,” I told her and I couldn't stop the lone tear that spiraled out of control down my cheeks.
“Oh don't be so hard on yourself. Come ‘ere” she said and drew me closer to her as we drove fast, away into the night, leaving the happiness that I didn't deserve behind in quest for revenge.
Hopefully, it'll give me the peace I crave so much.
