The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 17: CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
“AXEL'S POV”
It has been over a decade since we saw one.
Beasts with no iota of humanity in them, red eyes and matted skin with drool constantly pouring from their mouths.
They didn't really care if they lived or died, so fighting with them was different.
There was no coordination or style to their attacks, they just kept going for your neck with the intent to kill; nothing else.
We weren't prepared for this, especially after the battle with the DarkMoon Pack.
“NightShade Pack! We have been attacked by rogues! Give your wolves full reins or else you will die” I screamed into the pack mindlink and I could feel the panic from everyone.
“Axel, watch out!’ my twin alerted me. While I was giving the command to the pack, four of these horrible creatures had surrounded me.
And they didn't attack one after the other like normal wolves, they came at once.
*AURORA'S POV*
I had no idea what was happening, but I knew it was a battle; one that was horrifying and bloody.
From the sounds of bones being broken, the screams of wolves losing their lives and the deep, ferocious growls, I could tell this was worse than the one at DarkMoon Pack.
I had expected someone to come take me to a safety house but I guess they had forgotten about me. I couldn't afford to be a damsel in distress, so I decided to protect myself.
Wolves lived a life that revolved around their sense of smell so I knew they'd find me in no time. I didn't know where to run to and even if I did, leaving this house in the heat of the battle was a suicide mission so I had to find a way to hide in here that would ensure my safety or at least a waiting spot until someone came for me.
I tiptoed from my room to the kitchen, wincing at the sounds of the battle happening around me.
I found what I was searching for, a big gallon of olive oil meant for cooking.
I began lathering my skin with it, as its scent was stronger than mine and I hoped to hide somewhere until everything was over.
I left the kitchen, my hand clinging to everything to avoid slipping and falling.
I was walking past the sitting room when something rammed at the front door. I gasped, the fear I'd felt earlier rising higher in my rib cage. It was looking like I'd die in this place.
The attacking wolves must have heard me catching myself when I almost fell and were coming to finish me off.
This made me walk faster until I got to the bedroom and I quietly shut the door behind me.
I took the cover of the bed and drew it down a bit so it could cover me when I did what I was planning but immediately, I heard the front door break and snarls and growls began sounding closer to me.
I quickly crawled under the bed and made myself really small so no part of me could be seen.
Wolves had very good vision so I scooted up so it'll take a very intentional effort to find me. I was shaking from fear and the sheer desire to survive this terrifying experience but I was not so confident in my plan.
I began to hope and pray someone heard them breaking the door and would come for me.
It didn't take them long to break my bedroom door and I held my mouth tightly to avoid making any noise but my heart was beating so loudly I was sure they could hear it.
I was terrified beyond belief and I wished to be back in my father's house, at least I had to do something wrong before I was out through hell.
I wondered why they got here so quickly and it hit me hard; the oil marks definitely led them straight to me. I felt so stupid, what sort of a plan was that? I was going to be wolf dinner, that was for sure.
They were making so much noise that I was having a migraine from trying to not scream out in fear. I was shaking at this point as they had circled the bed about three times before one of them yanked the covers completely. I shook physically from the amount of fear in me.
I dared to look and I was met with red eyes
I screamed and the wolf howled.
The ugly looking thing bent over, a sinister look evident on its face despite the darkness.
He bit on my leg and I screamed in agony, screaming and hitting it with my hands.
The other two wolves snarled close to my ear and raised their heads up, mouth wide open about to devour me to pieces.
I couldn't stop screaming and my mind was aflame with pain and agony but suddenly, someone burst through the door, releasing a powerful howl. I was reliefed but the pain overtook my senses.
In a few minutes or so, he had made quick work of killing those things and quickly shifted to his human form.
He came to my side, naked and sweaty.
“Aurora? Why didn't they take you to a safe house? How could they abandon you here?” I heard a voice I recognized. I have never been happier to hear him as I was at that moment
“Kane! Oh thank goodness you came right on time, I would have been dead!” I exclaimed, wincing in pain as he came and carried me.
He began moving towards the door, adjusting me till I was no longer wincing in pain.
“I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I'll have words with the twin Alphas about your safety. It is a priority, I wonder if no one taught them how to treat their mate” he complained as he walked out into the ongoing battle, running fast to avoid getting caught up in one. Weird words coming from someone like him but who was I to complain? Besides, I totally loved the way he held me to himself as he ran through the chaos.
He quickly rushed through the angry fray, screaming at people to leave the way, and when they couldn't, he did something that forced them to bare their necks in a submissive way
Before getting to our destination, we found Alpha Axel and I noticed he had seen us first and quickly shifted to his human form. I saw his dick and blushed profusely but the movement reminded my body of how much pain we were in.
“What happened to her? That door was built to prevent intrusion. She would have been safer there than anywhere else” he said, dodging the teeth of one of the wolves with red eyes. He grabbed his neck and flung him at a tree with so much ferocity. I was shocked and excited at the sight of him doing all of that while looking so hot.
“See her leg Axel, obviously the door wasn't as strong as you thought. Now, show us the path to your safe house.”
Axel looked around, probably giving commands to his fighters as the war went on, his attention divided
“I'll take you there. You won't be able to fight while carrying her and we don't need to show them where our safehouse is” he replied, going ahead of us and killing red-eyed wolves like clockwork.
He shifted to his wolf and began doing greater damage to the wolves that dared cross his path.
I watched the gory incident, the destruction in its wake and the thoughtless murders that were happening all around. I was weirdly turned by his dominance in the battlefield and was how I realized I was probably going crazy.
These other animals were obviously not half as strong as the NightShade Pack members but from my observation in the arms of Kane, what they lacked in strength, they made up for in numbers and many kept pouring into the pack from different angles.
We finally got to the end of the path we were on and we veered off into the forest area.
Axel had stopped fighting now as every wolf in his path had been decimated. The battle raged on as we got to a clearing that seemed like where kids played football after school.
Axel jumped on a spot on the ground three times and a door thingy slid open from the ground.
“Here, keep her in and let's get back. They are still pouring in” Alpha Axel said to Kane.
He did what he said and dropped me very close to where the children lay on the mattress and couches.
They gave the people a look that I imagined inspired confidence in them instead of the dreary feeling they felt, making me look at them with a renewed lens of respect.
I looked around the big room, containing over a hundred people, mostly aged men and women as well as little children. They all seemed to understand what was going on and just stayed with their mothers.
I tried adjusting myself so I'll heal faster from the wolf bite and I noticed the looks the pack gave me. Didn't they know this wasn't the right time for all that? Anyways, so far they didn't bother me, I'll just stay in this corner of mine and cry myself to sleep, I thought, adjusting myself to lie down before I heard the murmurs.
“We know you brought them here, you traitor!’ someone finally said out loud.
