The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 23: CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

I woke up from the nightmare I was in and I knew we needed to do this before we lost her for good.

“Christopher, get Alpha Kane here immediately” I told my Beta using our mindlink

I took a deep breath and reached out to my twin. He was holding out in the hopes that he would have a chance to have her all to himself but he spoiled his chance before the battle and I doubted she was going to let him try to win her back.

However, she was still his mate and until she rejects him, he still has to take care of her in every way and right now, she needs us to do this before we lose her completely. I have a feeling that dream wasn't just an ordinary one, I never remember dreams except when they are going to happen.

“Axel, you need to come immediately. We are losing her” I told him calmly

“I’m coming, I just want to smell clean before we do it. I don't want her running away from me. We've not had a bath in over a week, Twin. You probably have contaminated that room” he joked.

“Look, it's really bad. Like, we can lose her if we don't do something immediately!” I reiterated, my voice going higher as fear of the impending situation enveloped me.

I guess he realized how urgent it was because of the way I sounded.

“I'll be there immediately,” he replied.

I went to the attached bathroom in the room and had the world's fastest shower. Axel’s words made me self conscious and the thought of her feeling disgusted at me made me feel terrible. I don't know why I cared what she thought about me but most of my actions since she came into our lives didn't make any sense to me either but I just went along with it.

By the time I got out, the room was with the doctor, Alpha Kane, my twin and my mom

The moment Mama saw me, she rushed over to my side.

“Oh my son! I'm so happy you are finally awake. I told the goddess that if she took you from me after taking your father, I'll hate her forever. I can't imagine what I'll do without the both of you, you are the reason I still keep pushing on every day” she gushed, her eyes getting teary.

“Mama, we are not going anywhere. We will try not to get into any near death situations again, okay?” I assured her, pecking her forehead.

“That reminds me, does anyone have any idea why we fainted? I know I was tired but I mean, one of the best parts about being an Alpha Male is the speed at which your strength replenishes itself. Then we were off for over a week!” Axel said, perplexed.

I hadn't had time to think but this bothered me as he mentioned it. How will our pack members see us after fainting right after just one fight? They wouldn't be inclined to follow us if we are incapable of seeing them through to victory comfortably without falling down without any warning.

“You guys don't know?” Alpha Kane asked as he walked closer to her side with his hand in his pocket.

We looked at him, then at each other and shook our heads simultaneously.

“Doctor, please explain to your Alphas how the mate connection works.”he said, then proceeded to take her hand and kissed it.

I saw the look of pure adoration on his face and I wished I could allow myself to crave that but I stopped such traitorous thoughts from ruling my mind.

The doctor was obviously nervous from being thrown into the tension between all of us and he stammered a little before answering the question.

“My Alphas, well you see, your life force and hers are actually connected. Not fully but whatever happens to her, happens to you on some basic level. What this means is that if you have any life threatening injury, she'll feel it and in this case where she was about dying from the rogue bites and I heard she was helping many wolves in the safe house she was in to see their dead loved ones. She had a burnout which almost killed her but your life force is keeping her alive. But not for long. If you don't draw a deeper connection to her, she might die.” He explained.

“Well, what are you guys waiting for? Mark her!” My mom shouted at us, and I noticed she had developed a soft spot for her. She would have been a great Luna having my mom show her the ropes.

I hated how much I was allowing these thoughts to take over my mind and we hadn't even marked her yet. I shuddered at the thought of losing my mind fighting this internal battle; my wolf was already pissed off.

“Yes Maa, we'll get to it but I don't think you should be here. I'll tell you how it goes, okay? Go take some rest” Axel told her, hugging her as he escorted her to the door.

Marking was an intimate process and an integral part of the relationship mates share with each other. It was not to be witnessed by many people so as my mom left, we watched the doctor set the IV that was transmitting some drugs into her system and I noticed the speed of the liquid entering her veins reduced.

When he was done, he left, leaving us all tense and worried.

I personally was scared of how she'd react when she woke up and all these feelings are suddenly attacking her. She might not smell what we do but the feelings may blind and confuse her.

But her life was more important than anything else and it seemed Kane thought the same as he went over to her head and raised her up.

“Sit over there so she can lie on your chest while we do it.” Axel told him and he followed his advice

Normally, mates mark each other at the peak of an orgasm but we didn't have that luxury.

We were going to bite her all at once in order to shock her back to life. The doctor had explained everything to me when the two of them had gone out to refresh themselves after waking up from the coma.

“Let's just rip off the bandaid guys. No need to keep hesitating, I'm certain we'll find a middle ground after all of these.” My brother told us.

“Look at you all grown up” I teased him.

I came closer to her and I held her neck so it could be still as we both attached our mouths to the place we would mark her.

I was on the area where she had the dragon marking. We never got to the root of this and it still puzzled me at that moment but I ignored it. I went a little farther up to avoid linking both marks.

I licked her skin and I realized I might be getting addicted to everything about her. It dawned on me that this wouldn't be an easy journey.

“Ready?” Kane asked us, his position at the back of her neck.

I gave him a thumbs and then we bit down.

I don't know what we were really expecting and we were all apprehensive and ready for anything.

But then, after licking the blood that came out of her and our individual tattoos still on her beautiful neck, we realized something was really wrong.

We were expecting a reaction from her even if she didn't wake up completely but there was nothing.

No reaction or change in facial features. In fact, I was terrified we had killed her.
