The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 149: CHAPTER HUNDRED AND FORTY-NINE

Catching a spy with my new powers made me a superhero in the span of a minute and once again, I was reminded how werewolves only reacted to power.

Anyways, I should have been used to it by now but even though they respected me, I could still see the burning questions in their eyes. Even the old pack members were confused as well.

“Can I talk to them?”

“Of course, whatever you need to do. They're your pack and I’m already getting everything ready for the ceremony,” Ares responded.

So I stood up and with my mate's help, I climbed up the table and gradually the crowd quieted, everyone paying attention to me.

I've never been one for public speaking but these were my own people, it shouldn't be any big deal.

“Hello NightShade,” I began coolly, my voice carrying through the night. “Tonight, I'll officially become your Luna but before that, I wanted you all to get the chance to know everything about me. Full disclosure, no more secrets, is that welcome?” I asked and the resounding applause emboldened me.

“The last twenty one years of my life had been filled with pain and monotony but walking into Alpha Kane's Beta mid shift changed my life way more than a 360 degree if there's anything like that,” I smiled at the few chuckles I received. “Over the course of the last year, I'd come to discover my heritage, my tripartite mate bond, the two packs that I was destined to unite and so many new abilities. Also, I'm case you didn't notice, I have a dragon and I can light up a mean bonfire but something that confused even me was what happened each time I lost a battle and went into coma. The world of Limbo didn't treat me like everyone else; no, I encountered a misogynistic system that last night, I ended. I freed these women from their captor and in exchange, I was bestowed with something I've decided to treat as a gift,” I looked around at the confusion on their faces. So I reached into that new power inside me, the one I'd been trying to understand each time someone wasn't looking. I guess I'd have to go back so Bez could teach me all about it. I unleashed a tiny bit of it and right before their eyes, I began to walk on thin air.

“Wow,” I heard the gasps of several people.

“This doesn't make me any different than who you've always known and for the first time, you're getting this choice. If you don't want me to be your Luna, you can simply let your Alphas know,” at their instant protest, I shook my head. “It's their right. This isn't anything that they've experienced before so give them the opportunity to choose, please. I want to be a Luna to people who want me deep inside them. I'm tired of all the betrayals and I know without giving you all a choice, I'm simply doing the same thing my mortal enemy is doing,” I finished and floated back to my seat, my mates smiling deeply at me. I felt more at home in that moment than I'd ever felt anywhere else.

Ares kissed me again, his face filled with pride. I didn't know I'd something so good but from the less aggressive look on the face of the pack, I truly felt the impact of my words.

“NightShade Pack!” he called and he got a resounding “Alpha!” And the thundering of hands hitting chests in solidarity filled the entire pack.

“You heard my mate, for the first time since you were born and even in generations past, you have been given a choice. Yes, it's unheard of but I believe everyone here is so special she decided to give you that option. I'm letting you know I won't hold it against you if you don't want her to be your Luna. She's our mate before anything else and that will never change but she doesn't want us to impose her on you so if you are here and you don't want her to be your Luna, do indicate,” he announced and the deafening silence that ensued made me giddy with excitement.

Maybe I was wrong to be worried about their acceptance and they all simply wanted clarification.

That was until someone stood up in the middle of the pack and gradually, one turned to five. Four women and one man.

If anyone looked at me the way everyone looked at them, I'd definitely be terrified so I had to get up before it developed into violence.

“So, I was kind of expecting a larger number considering I had just sprung something life altering on you guys but can I know your reasons? I mean, if it's something that can be resolved..” I shrugged and I supportive murmurs of agreement sounded around the open space. I pointed to the first lady.

“Sorry but I don't think you should be mated to two Alphas, it's simply unnatural,” the girl started. I couldn't help the laughter that bubbled out of me, to her utter dismay. “This is no laughing matter! You are probably cursed, otherwise why are you having two mates?!” She roared and it was obvious what was happening here.

“Sorry, I couldn't help it. I honestly thought you were going to say something reasonable, I don't know like, how me being a literal goddess was gonna affect the pack but it's obviously something less, y'know… serious. So tell me,”

“Thelma,”

“Yes, Thelma, which of my mates do you want for yourself? And point of correction, I have three. The third one just acts like a dick every once in awhile so,” I said, the thought of him still giving me a heartache.

They were speechless and I moved on to the man.

“What seems to be the problem?”

“How is the power dynamic supposed to work? You're three times more powerful than our Alphas,”

“The dynamic of the relationship is not going to change just because I can pull out things out of thin air or manipulate time and space. These are simply abilities to me, not a status. If that's what you're worried about, then I'm sure you'll be happy having me as your Luna because that's never going to be a problem,”

“If that's all, let's all proceed to the river where we will hold the Luna ceremony,” Axel announced, failing to conceal his annoyance at the whole situation. But I needed to do that, not just because I wanted everyone to feel and be a part of the process but because I didn't want to face any challenges with anyone wanting my position. I didn't want to kill anyone by mistake. Knowing these shewolves, someone would definitely they could take me on and the night might go awry. These powers hadn't even settled into me and I didn't want to hurt anybody by mistake.

The ceremony went on without a hitch, the process the same as the one in DarkMoon except the challenge part.

The elders didn't even mention it and no one protested it.

All through the night, I could see the sexual energy roll from me and my mates into the rest of the pack. I even saw Chris and Elena locked in a sensual kiss more than once through the process. I hadn't had the chance to really talk to her but it made me so happy to see someone was taking care of her and she had finally gotten her second chance.

The moment the bond snapped into place, it was as though a burst of energy had been poured into me and felt invincible.

“You feel that too?” Axel asked in shock.

“I've never felt this surge of strength before and what's worse is I don't know if I should charge into battle or we should take our mate inside and make her cum like never before,”

“What if we do both?” I suggested, a smile tugging at my lips.

“What do you mean?”

“Lyra is already on her way to bring back the dragons so that's gonna make them feel we're retreating. In the cover of night, we will do so much damage before they know what's going on.
