"Third Person POV"

The structure of the supernatural world was built on monarchies, the ruling families going back generations. It seldom happens that a pack, coven or Clan loses its rulers.

But when it does happen, the people are thrown into disarray, the confusion mixing with the pain and a power tussle would erupt right in the middle of it. It was one of the reasons a council was found.

The second in command was then given the right to temporarily rule the people until a new leader was selected by a series of tests and battles because supernaturals only obeyed the strongest amongst them, any sign of weakness resulted in a revolt.

After the rogue battle, the NightShade Pack Beta waited for instructions from his Alphas but none came.

For over an hour, he went around assisting the wounded to get to the safehouse reserved for the injured, close to the main pack house.

Many had lost a vital part of their body as the rogues were not coordinated and didn't really have the capacity to do much damage when paired against a strong, healthy wolf.

As he helped his fellow pack members, his instinct sought after his mate who was also a warrior by training. She had turned off her mindlink during the fight to avoid distractions, majorly from him and his constant worrying.

After the counting of people who didn't make it and getting people who can get them ready to be sent to the moon goddess, Christopher realized something was very wrong.

He called for Alpha Axel, the more jovial of the two; he was one to make jokes even in very serious moments but Chris knew he was a very strong wolf.

The entire pack would know if anything had happened to their Alpha but their lack of a response was very concerning.

“Has anyone seen or heard from our Alphas?” He asked in the pack mindlink, making everyone actually pause and acknowledge their absence.

A search began immediately.

He finally saw his mate where she sat, her mind anywhere but where she sat.

“Mine. Why do you look so miserable ? We won” I asked her as I sat beside her.

“Yes Chris but this was sent to wipe us out. We literally fought throughout the whole night and when we finally got rid of those disgusting mutts, our Alphas disappeared. I fear for the future of our pack.” She replied, her hand rubbing her stomach.

Why she would do that, her mate didn't know but the thought of her with a swollen both excited and terrified him.

“Juno, please tell me you didn't jump into this war while pregnant?” he enquired.

“Of course not. My wolf wouldn't have been able to annihilate as many rogues as she did last night. But I fear that now that we are ready for a baby, our pack is no longer safe. And I don't know how to explain it but I felt an evil presence with those wolves” she finished, her eyes looking so far away.

Her mate sighed. He hated not being able to make her happy but this was out of his control. Her fears were real and happening right in front of him.

A few weeks back, their only problem was avenging the DarkMoon Pack but now, something has come for them and it didn't look ordinary.

“We found them, well, some of them at the entrance of the pack. We don't know where Alpha Ares is and we have searched everywhere” someone said in the pack link.

Christopher and his mate rushed to the place and they met their Alpha and Alpha Kane who had helped them in a shocking turn of events.

During the battle, you could sense many she wolves indicating their interest in him, snickering in the pack link and gossiping about his looks and how many kills he was accumulating. Chris knew to be careful; an enemy turned friend needed to prove themselves over and over to avoid betrayals.

“We need to get them to the infirmary. The main one, and someone should go and get their mate, her proximity might help in getting them out of this” he instructed.

“But Beta Christopher, she is not in the Alpha's house. Wasn't that where she was supposed to be?” the teenage boy who was sent on the errand asked.

“Oh, she's in the North side safe house. I saw Alpha Axel and Alpha Kane take her there. She was injured.” His mate answered.

“Well, I guess it's the perfect time to let them all out. I think everywhere is clear for now. But leave the doors open, in the chance of any further attacks, everyone will be able to get to safety quickly” he instructed.

He followed the men carrying the Alphas to the pack infirmary and the doctor was called.

He definitely had to abandon everything else as this was the most important life in the pack. Without their leaders, they'll turn on each other and their pack would cease to exist. Only the intervention of the council can prevent such a reality

But before that would happen, everyone would definitely do their best to prevent it.

The entire Pack could feel the danger ahead and they needed their Twin Alphas to lead them through that perilous path.

“AURORA’S POV”

I had helped the eight person reconnect with her lost mate, a man with a rugged appearance but it was obvious he was in mourning.

“When did she pass?” I asked him.

“Last month, during the fight with DarkMoon Pack. I don't fight, I work in the farm so whenever she goes to fight, I beg her to be careful and I pray to the goddess to return her to me. I was pulling out weeds from the pack farm when I felt my soul crack in two. I've not been able to breathe properly ever since” he said, his aura looking very dark.

I didn't need to say anything, I actually couldn't at this point. I was weary and tired but I couldn't say no to them. They were finally warming up to me so I couldn't deny them the opportunity to say goodbye to their family, friends and mates.

But the process took it's toll on me and I was getting tired by the minute.

"Luna, maybe you should rest a bit, you're looking a bit pale," said the woman who had been accusing me of treason earlier on.

"Don't worry, he needs to see her. He's too sad," I whispered as I struggled to move my arms to the man.

The moment I connected with him, everywhere went pitch black.
