The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 15: CHAPTER FIFTEEN

The second my fingers left his face, we both gasped, him obviously shocked ande me? Absolutely terrified.

I immediately went on my knees with tears falling from my eyes, expecting the worst to come.

I had never done anything like that before so I definitely expected my end. My life flashed before my eyes, these people had a ferocious animal living within them, waiting to be unleashed and I had gone and done just that.

I saw the carnage in the DarkMoon Pack after the battle. While I was running away, I saw limbs and different other body parts scattered all over the place. This was done with bare hands, claws and teeth, no other weapon.

And I had just slapped their Alpha.

Bent down, I noticed people were gathering around and I could hear murmurs from them, obviously not saying anything nice.

“Axel, what the hell is going on? Why is she on the ground?!” I heard Ares' voice.

I didn't bother getting up as I was sure when he told him what happened, they'd probably tear me apart together and their pack would rejoice over it.

“Why did you mark her? We agreed there would be nothing of that sort until she makes a choice. And I haven't even done anything, she's just playing her pity card. I can't believe I'm mated to such a slut!”

I heard a deep, angry growl

“I can't believe this. Are you being dumb on purpose? Can't you smell her purity? Nobody marked anyone and if you weren't buried balls deep in one of the pack sluts last night, you wouldn't be feeling so terrible. You are transferring aggression and you need to apologize to her immediately!” Ares shouted at him.

He was with someone else? My tears increased, sobs wracking my small frame.

“Wait, so if you didn't mark her, then who did? And who says she's not faking the virginity scent? She's been displaying many strange traits. You! Get up, show him the mark!” He said to me, pulling me up violently

At this point, I was hysterical.

Ares quickly came up to me and brought me over to his side gently, and he pulled my face up and examined the mark.

“Holy shit! You've been marked by a Dragon!” his face was full of wonder.

Everyone began talking, and I hid my face on his chest, his scent and warmth gradually calming me down. I couldn't believe that the only kind one of the three of them was the one that didn't want me. This thought evoked fresh tears from my eyes and I sobbed uncontrollably.

Ares pulled my face away from his chest and cupped my cheeks in his big hands.

'Hey, hey, hey, shhhh," he cooed at me like I was a little baby, my emotions jumbling up, "Don't cry anymore, okay? He's not gonna hurt you, I promise. No one ever will, NOT while you have me, okay?"

I nodded, my eyes widening at the calmness his reasurrance brought to me. I cleaned my eyes quickly but still stayed by his side as he levelled a glare on his twin brother.

“Come on brother, are you really goona fall for this crap? I mean, if you didn't mark her, then someone else did. Open your eyes so we can focus on who that bastard is!" Axel snapped, irritated with him.

I couldn't believe I had thought of him as 'nice'.

"And if you'll pull your head out of your ass, you'd understand what I'm talking about! This is a dragon mark," Ares growled, his arm vibrating next to me. Funny enough, I wasn't scared.

"Really? You are still on this? When will you take a break from your books? You keep pulling imaginative ideas out of it. She's obviously marked by another wolf here and she's hiding him” Axel insisted. I have barely left their sights, what kind of silly assumption was that? I mean, I already feel guilty for being insanely attracted to the three of them because of the mate bond and here he was, suggesting I was a skank, sleeping around in a place where I barely knew everyone.

“I can't believe I'm paired with you. Can't you see it's a literal drawing of a dragon? The gods knew we'd have wolves as dumb as you which was why all marks have the tattoo of the animal itself. So you definitely know that no wolf marked her. So did you by chance see any fire breathing dragon anywhere here last night? Besides, you have a mark on your neck as well, or is that a part of my imagination as well?”

“Mark? What mark? I didn't let anyone mark me” he snapped and began pulling at his collar as if he could actually see his neck.

“I was asking you about it before this whole thing, you have the same dragon mark on your neck, just a little smaller than mine. It's right there” I told him, timidly reaching out to touch the spot. The sparks that rose from the contact irritated me, it made no effing sense to still be attracted to him right now.

“All of these should tell you there's something else afoot but you are acting like an A*hole and that needs to stop!’ Ares thundered at his twin brother.

They stare at each other for an uncomfortable amount of time before Axel looks away, and takes a deep breath.

“Oh. Well, this has been a big misunderstanding. Everyone, disperse! This isn't a public performance” he sends everyone away, leaving just the three of us.

“I want to go,” I said, seeing as there was no point to all of this.

“Go where? We are not done yet. You are supposed to stay for two months, you go to DarkMoon for two months and then back here for another two months to stay with me before you decide” Axel said, his brows creasing in confusion.

“Well, Alpha Ares has said he doesn't want me, I'm sorry I said that out loud but you obviously don't want me and Alpha Axel hates me so no need hiding anything. Also, your pack thinks I'm a spy so there are treating me like I have leprosy or something. The only familiar face here has been Juno and she's not gonna miss me that much, her mate adores her. There's no point in staying here so I want to leave” I poured out, my eyes puffy from all the tears.

I looked at their faces to gauge their reactions. Ares looked crestfallen but Axel was definitely going to try to stop me.

“Well, that's too bad. We've already agreed with Alpha Kane on how this would go. You just have to go through with it. You must give us all a chance to prove we are the best for you. In fact, since Ares doesn't want you, the best thing you can do is call Alpha Kane and inform him you don't need to test him anymore. That will win the pack over and you will be mine alone. I'm no longer upset with you, you don't have to be scared, alright?” He told me, and when he tried to grab my hand, I refused. His face got darker.

“What has come over you, brother? You are being a jerk. Now, Aurora, as much as I'd like to do what you have proposed, we need to give Alpha Kane sometime. He is taking a look into your past and until he has come to a conclusion, I don't think his pack will receive you. They will definitely believe we sent you to spy on them. He needs to have all the information about you so no one can challenge his decision. And now that we have this new information in the form of these marks, I'm sure it'll expedite his search. Your Father has been tight lipped despite the methods of torture being used but we will loosen his tongue soon. Just endure for a few more weeks, okay?” Ares said, taking my hand as we walked back to his house, leaving Axel behind.

His actions shocked me and now that I knew more about him, I knew never to let him in.

From Juno's lessons, I knew I would have been in severe pain last night if I was a werewolf. He had a mate right in this same pack and he was sleeping with other people. I felt very disrespected and I knew he wasn't going to be my choice.

When we got home, I went in to bathe and I looked at my tattoo again. The part of the blue fire glowed in the dark and as I touched it, I felt a wave of calmness wash over me.

Strange things were happening and I was right in the middle of it.

I decided not to go to the pack dinner.

Let them thing whatever they wanted but I'm definitely done with trying to please them.

If they won't let me go back, that's fine but I refuse to play house with two men that obviously don't want me but pretend to just to appease their pack.

I cleaned up and went to sleep, my stomach grumbling from hunger.

Later that night, I was awakened to screams and people running around everywhere.
