The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 6: CHAPTER SIX

"AURORA'S POV"

I had stood and watched them debate amongst themselves, and a lot of their words were strange and confusing.

They were speaking English but I couldn't figure out exactly what they meant.

I tried calling their attention but they seemed too engrossed in their exchange so I decided to make a run for it.

I had gotten a bit far when I sensed them coming after me. I do not know how that feeling came to be but since I heard them all call me their mate, a lot of strange things have been happening to me, one of which is a pull to the three of them. It was so strong I literally found it difficult to run.

Due to this, I stumbled on a log and fell, my hand getting caught on a broken bottle, immediately blood poured out of the wound.

I couldn't help the tears that followed it.

I was drained, tired and confused, my whole life turned upside down in a space of just one day.

This morning, I was a normal person, just one grain in the sand of the beach called Manhattan, New York. I was insignificant, my worries of no consequence; but in just a few hours, I was in the middle of a nightmare.

I kept pushing forward, one foot in front of the other, even though I didn't know how I'll survive out there on my own, I just couldn't imagine being under the control of three weird men. The first one, I could wrap my head around a little, but three? I don't think I could.

So I ran, thinking about many things. Maybe if they saw me running, they'd allow me to go. They were so handsome they could have anybody they wanted. I didn't understand why they looked at me that way; like someone important.

I wasn't. My father made sure I understood that, so I didn't understand any of this.

I don't know why but I couldn't stop crying and I was in that state when they found me. One of them called my name, expecting me to stop but I was not going to make this easy for them. I needed them to know I didn't want to be a part of any of this.

I increased my pace, running as my hand kept bleeding.

This didn't last long though. One of them ran faster and grabbed me, my cries increasing as he did this.

Then something strange happened. He carried me and hugged me to himself, putting my face on his shoulders and butterflies that I didn't even know existed took flight in my stomach. I was scared initially, having to deal with not just one but three strange men claiming to be my soulmates but I strangely found comfort in his arms, the strange soarks I felt calming down my hysteria. In a few seconds, I was feeling drowsy and as I heard another pair of feet join us, I fell asleep.

When I came to, I was in the room I was given earlier, and I was covered in a thick duvet, making me feel very hot.

I had woken up from a nightmare but as I tried piecing together the details, it kept slipping away so I just let it go.

Sighing, I got up from the bed and looked around the room. I opened the curtain and looked outside, it was already night.

I couldn't sleep again so I walked out of the room, my body walking towards a direction like it knew the house naturally

Before I realized why, I heard their voices.

“You cannot say you want her now! You had her and you didn't even treat her right, you admitted to wanting to keep her at arm's length and my twin brother here doesn't want a mate! So it makes sense that she will come with me!” One of the men said in an exasperating tone and from the look of things, they had been at this for quite some time.

This one wore a dark gray shirt, his beard making him look like he just walked out of a photoshoot but the argument added a red tinge to his face, making him look more attractive. Before I could continue ogling him, the other two began replying him and whatever weird feeling that gripped me earlier dissipated.

It was terrifying that they could control me this way. Even though they were devilishly handsome, I barely knew them. Besides, I was deeply terrified of what would happen to me when they eventually let me go back home. Father would probably kill me.

The second I walked closer to them, they shut up and immediately stood up, their attention zoned in me completely. The sudden attention gave me a boldness that I didn't even know I had in me.

“I don't belong to anybody and I won't be subjected to this haggling you all are doing while I'm literally in the same building. I have sworn that I'll never share your secret to anyone so kindly return me back or I'll kill myself. I've tried it before and stopped halfway; this time around, I won't stop” I threatened and the perplexed reaction on their face made me reel myself back in, scared that I may have overstepped.

“Wait, what? Why will you do that?” Alpha Kane replied, rushing to grab my arm.

“Look, we are just trying to figure this out. Just give us a few minutes and we'll get to a conclusion. One of us will be yours and the rest can go meet the moon goddess for their second chance mate. I'm sure she made a mistake and she can correct all of this” the one in black sweats said, and they all nodded.

“So I don't have a say in the matter?” I replied, raising my head to look at him. I didn't know where the courage came out from but I was already deep into it to turn back now.

They looked at themselves in confusion.

“Well, are there any of us you don't like? I mean, we're just trying to make the process easier for you,” the third one replied, folding his hands across his chest.

Since ny head was still on my neck, I proceeded with my plan. I may have feelings for them but I didn't understand it. I'd never fallen for anyone before and the last boy I was caught talking to literally disappeared afterwards but I knew you didn't fall for people the same day you met them. It made no sense that I literally wanted to feel his lips on mine or again or the crazy fact that I legit wanted all three of them touching my body that instant. None of it made sense so it was best to take myself out of this insane situation as soon as possible.

“I am saying I don't want any of you. I want to go back home, I don't want to be a part of whatever this is” I said to them, the words hurting as it came out of my mouth. I mean, why did it feel like I was breaking up with the lobe of my life?

The shock on their faces was quite scary but I would not be deterred. Somehow I knew they wouldn't hurt me so it made me comfortable talking to them even though my demand wasn't pleasing to them. Their faces were a testament to that.

They looked at each other and I suddenly realized they didn't think I was serious. Fortunately for me, there were several types of utensils on the dining table and before they could figure out how to dissect my assertions, I picked up a knife.

“Woah! Drop that immediately, you are going to hurt yourself” Alpha Kane commanded.

“Well, no shit Sherlock, what did you think she picked it up for?” One of the twins replied, rolling his eyes.

They looked at each other and it seemed they were talking to each other with their eyes but I knew when they'd agreed to my demand and the excited butterflies began to die one after the other. It was quite painful but I was used to pain so I ignored the feeling and waited for them to confirm my suspicion.

“You know, I think we'll just give in to your demand. But we will keep an eye on you while you are there, a few guards perhaps”

“Don't be ridiculous! She can't leave here”

“He has a point, Alpha Kane. While we figure out our shit, she can go back to her normal life. Maybe an old fashioned duel will resolve this or something but no matter how long it takes, she won't be hanging in the balance, waiting for us” the second twin explained to them. I was beginning to like him more.

“You know what? Fine! But you have to keep working at the Company. That way, I can keep an eye on you. Alpha Ares and Axel will deploy guards to your home as well as whenever you need to go somewhere” Alpha Kane said, dropping the names of the twins.

Something in me wanted to test their names out loud, to ground me and prove that I wasn't hallucinating but there were bigger issues here.

“You mean I'll be a prisoner? Why do they need to surround me that much, I'm not running away” I complained.

"You don't have any other choice Princess. Besides, this is a temporary arrangement. Once we settle on who will claim you, you'll be back to the Wolf world. Don't worry, it'll be the best thing to happen to you,” the one I guessed was Alpha Ares said, tapping my shoulder before walking out of the room.

The next day, I was back in a car with Tuscany, only this time, there was an entourage of cars behind me. I had protested the extravagant display and they removed three cars out of the ten they initially attached to me.

I normally wouldn't say no to all of this luxury considering the life I lived but this was way too much.

As we got closer to my parent's house, I realized something needed to be done about this because there was no way I could explain this to my parents.

“Tuscany, I need a huge favor from you. I don't want my parents to ask me questions regarding all of these. Can the cars head some other direction? The guards can do their jobs in a less flamboyant style” I begged. I'd refused to address the fact that he literally kidnapped me because I guess I understood he was following orders but we weren't going to become besties or anything. I just hoped he'd help me out this time.

“Well, you have a good point.” He replied and without saying anything, I noticed that all the cars were veering off into the other side of the road, leaving just me, Tuscany and the two burly men at the back seat.

We finally got to our two-bedroom, small-sized house and I took a deep breath. I was absent for just one day, I doubt anyone would miss me but I hoped to the high heavens that my father was out of sorts to notice my absence.

But knowing my luck, that was definitely wishful thinking.

I had lost my handbag in the fray of the activities of yesterday, along with my keys, thus I had to knock.

When the door opened, I couldn't stop the slap that landed on my face. I guess nothing really changed for them in the last twenty-four hours.
