The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 154: CHAPTER HUNDRED AND FIFTY-FOUR

The insane amount of power I'd gotten over the last few days didn't compare to what I was seeing and Lyra’s warning began to mock me.

I should have been more careful, and waited for her instead.

I rose into the air carefully and assessed the damage. It was obvious she didn't care if her own people died. She could resurrect them into mindless zombies after all and that served her better.

Fighting water with fire didn't make any sense and I kept watching in horror as she pulled the entire lake and flooded the entire field. She had transformed into her full siren form and she looked like a terrifying mermaid with spikes as teeth as she went after my people, trying very hard to drown them.

She was succeeding.

“What's going on? I joined this whole crappy battle because you said you were a goddess. Why are my wolves dying?!” I heard Kane's angry voice in my mind, his words tripling the guilt I already felt.

“I..I don't know what to do,” I replied, scared that I was going to be the reason thousands of wolves died.

“You brought us all out here like you were some war veteran and now, look what's happening. Look, you've gotta figure this shit out ASAP! DarkMoon! Retreat!” He thundered, making me feel absolutely terrible with his words and what's worse? He was absolutely right. I'd been overconfident just like the last time and now, people were going to die because of me.

Immediately, I saw the confusion in his ranks. Many of the pack members began speaking into my mind at the same time, their words fucking up my mind more than it already was.

“Luna, are you okay?” I heard from Cora’s husband and I couldn't even answer because he was the only voice that gave a crap about me in this sea of doubts and confusion.

Gradually, I began turning off the mindlink, Kane was right. They needed to retreat.

I floated towards the river, and tried creating a portal for the water to go back but it only made matters worse, the portal was too small and her ability to pull water out of the lake was really immense.

Feeling weakened emotionally, I turned around and went back to where some wolves had shifted to their human forms and were using claws to fight. It was gut wrenching.

“Princess? What's happening?” I heard in my mind but I was too panicked to respond, my mind a whirlpool of fear and confusion. I'd disappointed people again, this time in a large amount and as I felt links snapping, indicating the deaths of my pack members, all I could do was stare at Leticia in dismay.

“Mama, you've got to breathe, okay? We're not drowning, I promise,” I heard Ares but I couldn't process his words.

“Baby, come on don't let them win! You've gotta get out of your head!”

“She's too strong,” I whispered weakly.

“You're just as powerful, if not more. You haven't even known the extent of your power. Stop holding back, okay?”

“But it'll hurt people,”

Axel’s words of encouragement only terrified me. I was strong, yes but I definitely couldn't manipulate the elements like that. I didn't know how to control my own powers and I might hurt people if I tried. I was hoping to isolate her but I went and messed that up and it seemed everybody was going to die if something didn't happen.

A lone tear escaped my eyes as I descended to where Ares was signaling for me to come over to.

“You know what? I'll give everyone the order to clear the center for you. You don't have to hold back, unleash everything and if it doesn't work, then we'll know we tried our best but don't let fear of the unknown stop you from trying,”

His wolf went around me, our bond sparkling in the murky waters that had already gone past my knuckles and were making it difficult for the wolves to fight.

Thankfully, I'd burned her supply of harmful herbs or I'd have had a worse situation at hand.

“But you can't swim in wolf form,” I pointed out to him.

“Yea, I just realized it'll be smarter to fight this war in human form. Look, just go find her, I'll give the order now. I love you so much and you can get us out of this my love,” he said, his voice finally getting through the doubts and panic in my mind.

Feeling a tiny bit more confident and knowing that Ares and Axel could take care of this, I began to seek her out.

I mean, we were already here and we couldn't just turn around and say, oh, we don't wanna annihilate you anymore so you don't take away our world. No, we have to try as much as possible to win this war. Hopefully, what I had in mind would work.

“Mother!” I called out, my voice shaky. I took deep breaths, trying to steady myself or the fear would overtake me.

“I've told you not to call me your mother!” She screamed erratically, throwing a torrent of water in my direction but I dodged it.

“That seems to have touched a nerve, are you incapable of having children? Is that why you want to destroy the entire world so you don't have to see others do what you can't do?”

“You don't know what you're talking about!” She growled and I knew I'd found the spot.

So when that feeling crept up my spine again, I didn't stop it this time. I welcomed it and as I looked down, I saw the reflection of my eyes in the water and it was a startling shade of red.

I looked at her and an idea jerked into my mind, nearly startling me.

“I really don't know Leticia and you know why? Because I had that Chance to become a mother. I was already developing a deep connection with my child, I spoke to them everyday, they couldn't react yet but I dreamed of the future where they'd be able to call me Mom and I'll be the happiest woman ever but guess what happened?” I hissed angrily, my invisible hackles rising. “You unleashed your malady on my mate and I lost my baby! So no, I don't know what I'm talking about because you want to drown the world in your sorrows and darkness but you know what? That ends today!” I moved my hands as she watched in confusion, my words and action a wonderful mix of pain. “Before the sun will rise, I will have your body sailing the Blue Lake River just like you threw mine but the difference will be that I won't let someone else do it for me, I'll ensure you're dead personally and even if anyone comes for you, which I'm sure they won't considering how much of a failure you are, all they'll see is your dead body!” I finished, finally done with what I was building.

“What's this?” She asked in shock.

“Your death chamber,” I replied with a cruel smile.

If this didn't work, well I hope my pack was far away from here.
