The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 180: CHAPTER HUNDRED AND EIGHTY
When morning came, I was still awake, unable to close my eyes despite the activities of the night after the scare with Lyra.
I hated the fact that Elena had to come get me in time to stop it because I had been keeping my link turned off.
It was permanently on now and she was within reach at every point. But I was still unsettled deep inside me. I was this close to losing my dragon because of something as silly as a grudge over my attention. I needed to address it so it doesn't happen again; not just to Lyra whenever she was in this plane but to the kingdom that was about to be birthed.
My mates were still sleeping and so were the rest of the pack except those who had early mornings so I decided to deal with this as soon as possible.
I walked into one of the pack houses where my dragon kin were living since the war, not minding that it was very early in the morning.
I walked into the lobby and forcefully opened everyone's mindlink and ordered them to assemble at the common room. If they wanted me to act like my parents before they gave me the respect I deserved, well the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Even though I did, growing up in the human world and all but I was still the child of my parents and I'd seen how they ruled with an iron fist.
I walked to one of the couches there and sat down while they slowly began walking into the room
“Good morning Queen Aurora,” someone greeted and I knew the whole situation with Lyra had set them straight. Deep down, they knew if we'd allowed her to unleash her anger, their dragons wouldn't have been able to stop her from the amount of pain she would have caused.
“Good morning Lydia. Does anyone know where Raven is? We were friends when I was in Arkonos,”
“She is in Africa on a mission, your highness,”
“What sort of mission took her from America all the way there?” I asked and they all exchanged looks before someone finally answered me.
“The queen is sick with a blood disease and the only cure is a leaf that can only be found in Africa so Raven is to protect our chief healer on the journey to get it,”
“Oh, I wasn't aware of that. It was probably caused by y'all attacking me while they were away,” I grumbled in annoyance. “Now, I gathered everyone here because I have news that can't be discussed with outsiders so you have to swear your loyalty to me before I can comfortably tell you what it is,” I said as I paced the small space in front of the crowd.
Suddenly, they all placed their hands on their chest and began speaking an old draconian language that said they swore to be obedient to every word I say to them this morning.
Oddly specific but it served my purpose.
I knew at some point, it'll get out to the world that I wasn't really in the picture of the future world but as long as I can, I'd do my best to protect this secret.
I felt the promise form in thin air, a knot tying several times and then dissipating into thin air.
“I hope you are all aware of how hurt I am by your actions. Someone here or even all of you planned to kill my dragon, –”
“No, that wasn't the plan, I –” someone spoke up from the crowd and the entire room gasped in shock.
“Who is that?” I asked, walking towards where I'd heard it
It sounded familiar but I didn't remember it specifically.
The crowd gradually parted, vomiting the culprit for me to see.
“Your face looks really familiar,” I whispered as I grabbed her face, her body shivering from intense fear.
“Please forgive me, I didn't mean to do it, I swear,” she pleaded.
This was weird. If she had the mind to actually find poison and then find a way to get it into Lyra's system without getting caught, she wouldn't be so dumb as to blurt out a confession right in front of me.
I took a hold of her hand and I pulled her out of the crowd of people watching us.
“What did you mean to do then, Miranda?” I asked, the name finally coming to me.
“I um, I was supposed to put her to sleep so he can get you away for a few minutes. He just wants to talk to you, nothing bad,” she explained.
“Well whoever picked you for such crap is terrible at their job. Does he know your mission has failed?”
“Not yet, I'm not allowed to call him or use mindlink so I'll be meeting him this evening,” she explained, her trembling has visibly reduced.
“Evening is too far. I need you to find a way to talk to him earlier and get back to me. Your life depends on it,” I warned and she nodded vivaciously, her face filled with tears. “Who even is this person and how did you meet them?”
“Your Majesty, I can't find him except he reaches out to me. Besides,” she explained, “He doesn't let me see his face but he said he knows me very well. Besides, the money was really good and I didn't think I'd be hurting anyone,”
“It's alright,” I turned away from her and called for a werewolf guard that stood at the door, “keep an eye on her till evening,”
“Yes Luna,” the man said and escorted her out of the house to a cell. I didn't know what to do with her yet but I instructed him to make sure she didn't get hurt.
“Alright, back to why I called for this meeting,” I said, my voice a bit louder. “Since I became a goddess, I've gone through a lot of challenges and all of it led to a change that is, well, inevitable. I won't be able to live on this plane anymore,”
I watched as they murmured among themselves in confusion until it died down.
“If I prick my fingers now, it's going to be golden blood and that is what the earth feeds on. With each second I spend here, my essence dissipates which is why all of these distractions are pissing me off. I was supposed to have gone back last night but it'll have to happen tonight instead. What I promise is what has already been planned by the new King. Arkonos will have her own kingdom, separate and autonomous but you must give a dragon or more to each clan, pack or coven. No one will intimidate another using your formidable strength. If you have any questions, communicate them to the King and Queen as they'll be here this morning,” I announced and I saw their faces light up in excitement.
“Thank you, Your Majesty,”
“That'll be all,” I said and went back to my mates.
The meeting took longer than I'd anticipated and they were getting ready to leave already.
“Hey Mama, where did you go?” Ares asked as he drew me in for a kiss.
A towel was tied around his waist, and as my hands went around him, it came off.
“Hmm, someone's not tired,” he murmured as he attacked my neck with deep kisses and I was sure he was going to leave another hickey to match the one on the left side. It was his new addiction.
“I was talking to my people. I couldn't sleep anyway so I wanted to get that out of the way. Meanwhile, I found a lead to what happened with Lyra, ughh,” he had his fingers shoved deep into my pussy as he kept sucking on my soft spot.
“Keep talking,” he groaned as he got on his knees
