The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 126: CHAPTER HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SIX
The journey to NightShade Pack had been uneventful after the attack.
We'd packed up and cleared the scene so no human would know that some people up and shift to werewolves on a whim. Even though the pack was deeper into the forest, there was always the occasionally bored human who was on a quest to find themselves by getting lost in the woods and sometimes, the enchantment allows them in. There's no need to give them a glimpse of the dangers of the supernatural world on their first visit.
We'd cleared the whole place, well, they. Ares insisted I stay with him as Elena patched him up even though I wanted to go help. I knew he was just trying to make me not stress myself, instead, he had placed his head on my shoulder as Elena tried to remove as much of the deadly poison in his body as possible.
He was still not healing and neither was Axel but his injury was surface deep while Ares had so many cuts all over his body that were bleeding until Elena closed them up a little bit.
The woman was an angel, yet she could put huge wolves out of commission. Total badass.
We got to the pack and as I had expected deep down, they weren't too excited about seeing me. I had literally abandoned them and I had not made any reasonable attempt at reaching out. I wasn't their Luna yet and I was going to have to remedy that.
If only they knew what I'd been through these past few months.
“Get him situated while I prepare something for him to drink. This is not looking good,” Elena said as they carried Ares to the pack clinic.
“Who is she?” Beta Christopher demanded, looking at Elena with irritation.
I didn't like that.
“She's my friend and she's a witch, is there a problem?” I snapped, making him curtail his expression immediately.
“There's no problem, Luna but we already have a pack doctor and Wizard, she's not needed in this,”
“Christ, go get the burial event ready. Don't aggravate Aurora, today's not a good day for your tantrums,” Axel growled at his Beta before helping to carry one of the men we'd lost out of the car.
“What's wrong with him?”
“His mate kidnapped me because she was trying to get revenge by killing Axel. So she betrayed him and they had to cut the bond. I'm even surprised he's still able to do his job. Let me show you to a room,” I explained to her and helped her carry one of her bags.
I took her to the main pack house and found a room on the upper floor for pack officials because I didn't want her getting into situations with the rest of the pack like the one Chris just tried bringing. I hated how he was transferring aggression to no other person but Elena who was going through the same heartbreak as he was
I took the keys from Axel's office and took her upstairs.
“You can freshen up and I'll be back to pick you up so we can go check on him. Chris was actually right, Fang and Doctor Ben will attend to him while you shower,”
“But they might not understand what's happening, that's why I wanted to do it myself. It's not like I don't have anything to do with my life,” she grumbled
“I understand and I'm sorry about him. Everyone walks in eggshells around him but I'll let him know not to give you that attitude. Just clean up and I'll do the same. We'll go see him immediately after,” I told her and she nodded before I closed the door and left.
I walked into Axel who was still running around, well, limping more like it without giving himself any space to rest.
“Princess, find Noelle so she can fix you something to eat. I'm going over the security system. I just have a nagging feeling,” he said as he kissed my forehead.
He was about to rush off again but I held him back.
“You're absolutely right about that. You've been with me in DarkMoon for a while so your senses would be saying that but you're injured and stressed so we're going to have a bath, eat and we'll get Elena and Fang to look at your injuries. Then you can lock yourself up in your computer room till midnight. Deal?” I said with a smile I knew he couldn't resist.
“Fine. But it's only because your idea just makes a lot of sense,” he grumbled with a smile and we went to his house.
I had burnt the beautiful glass house the last time I was here so seeing the replacement made me feel a tinge of sadness and excitement mixed together.
The new one is way better and sophisticated.
“You have great taste,” I complimented.
“Of course. I mean, have you seen you?” He teased, making me laugh.
“Wow, you got those heated seats. I saw them on TV and I heard it adjusts to your body temperature,”
“Yea but you might want to make sure you don't sleep off on it considering you're always running hot. It'll freeze the whole room trying to make up for it. I got it for you and Ares since y'all are book addicts,”
“That's so thoughtful of you baby. And the interiors are so beautiful. Not excessively flashy but it gives off warmth,” I told him, while floating from room to room, checking out everything.
He had made it fire proof and there weren't much decorations but the ones there were a state of the art
“I didn't want to decorate too much until you came back so you can give your opinions but now that we're moving elsewhere, I'll just have to rent it out to humans,” he said sadly.
“I'm sorry about all of this. Having the three of you as my mates definitely has its perks but it's situations like this that confuses me. I'm still worried that the two packs might not get along,”
“Don't worry about that. Once Kane gets his shit together, that should help to smoothen everything. Can I help you bathe?” He asked innocently and I knew he didn't mean it in a sexual way.
Axel had a crystal ball for a face where everything he feels and thinks is written in his eyes if you look closely and I was always looking.
“I'll love that but you have to be fast. I need to go check on Ares and we won't feel safe here until you tell us that everything is fine,” I said as he began helping me undress.
As we both washed off the day's dirt and sadness, I feared for the future of our bond.
The threats were getting real with every second and this attempt to kidnap me just made it all the more obvious that Kane’s actions were going to cause me an inconvenience.
Flynn failed because he was too lax and confident that I was too weak but whoever he kept referencing won't give up and I doubt whoever he sends next would stay around for a chit chat while my witch friend spelled him to be captured.
