Seeing how hard he'd worked on the food, I hid my disinterest and forced a bit of it down my throat.

It wasn't an easy journey, the food tasted bland and I knew it wasn't a fault of his, it smelled delicious.

“Shit! Is it that bad?” Axel exclaimed, noticing my wince as the food made a slow journey into my digestive system.

“Oh, it's absolutely perfect. I'm just -” I retched and ran to the sink and threw everything out, my body rejecting the food immediately.

“Okay, this has gotten out of hand. I'm taking you to the doctor,” He declared, his concerned features making me feel warm.

“Do we need to? It's just a little –”

“Nope. If you want, I'll carry you,”

“Don't be ridiculous. I can walk,” I snapped, a wave of nausea hitting my body.

“I know Princess. I'm just saying if you feel the tiniest bit tired, I'll be happy to carry you, okay?”

“Okay,” I replied, feeling bad for how I'd snapped at him. I hated how all my feelings were jumbled and I was taking it out on this man that loved me so much.

I knew the twins were supposed to be my mates but I probably would have never met them without Alpha Kane.

I guess that was what his role in my story was and mine in his was to restore peace to his pack and stop them from treating their omegas like crap. Considering both missions completed, he finally crossed the line and Cora coming here to gaslight me about it wasn't going to change my mind.

They were my first interaction with men after my foster father's harsh treatment towards me and I didn't know what the rules of a normal relationship were but I knew cheating, regardless of the excuse behind it, was unacceptable. The fact that I'd found out after losing my child didn't make the pain any less, instead, I had to walk into danger with the knowledge that I was unlovable.

Thankfully, Axel and Ares showed me that I was more than a mate bond to them and even though it'll hurt like crap as I faded from this plane, I'll appreciate every moment with them.

We walked into the pack hospital and it was filled with wolves who were injured in battle, Beta Chris and Elena among them.

I was going to ask Zelda about spells for regrowing body parts and I'd power whatever the incantations were. Elena didn't deserve this, nobody in the pack did but I needed to be sure I wasn't pregnant before doing something like that.

Even though I was stronger now, I couldn't joke with the child we'd formed through the love between us. That meant any soul magic was off the table for me. So we spoke to them for a few minutes before heading into the doctor's office.

“Doctor Ben, how are you doing?” Axel asked, his huge form intimidating the smaller man. I guess that was why he chose medicine instead of the path of a warrior.

“I hope we're not disturbing your schedule,” I said because it looked like he was supposed to be going home to rest after the hectic day he must have had.

“Of course not, come on in,”

We sat down and Axel launched into the details of my sickness since this morning.

“She's a goddess Doc, what on earth is she falling sick for?” He finished, and I could see the nerves envelope him.

“Baby stop worrying so much, I'm fine,” I told him while rubbing his back to get him to calm down before facing the doctor. “He's overreacting doc, but please, take my blood and run tests and all of that,”

“Oh I don't need to do that because from what I've heard, your golden blood wouldn't work in our laboratory,”

“So how are we going to figure out what's wrong with her?” Axel sounded quite panicked

“You already know Alpha, you are just not in tune with her body enough for you to figure it out. Ask Alpha Ares,” the doctor said cryptically, a stupid smile on his face.

But Axel didn't find anything about this funny and went ape shit on the little guy.

“Ben, don't piss me off with this cryptic shit. Whatever it is, spit it out! What's with the unnecessary suspense? And if my brother knew, you think we'd be here?” he shouted at the doctor, his aura drowning the room in power and considering i couldn't bottle mine, the entire place was choked and the doctor’s neck was bent at an odd angle.

“Baby, we won't get a response from him if his neck snaps so maybe, calm down?’ I begged as I leaned into him so my scent could overwhelm his wolf, scared for the wolf of the doctor.

Gradually, Axel calmed down and took back his alpha aura and I could hear the doctor's sharp intake of deep breaths.

“Well?” Axel demanded, his tone still stern

“She's pregnant Alpha,” he whispered and it looked like he was close to tears.

“What do you mean she's pregnant? You're saying we took our pregnant mate into battle?” He exclaimed, his shock palpable.

“She's really strong even without the extra powers so I guess her body endured the strain of battle,” and they began going back and forth trying to figure out how.

I would have been asking how the pregnancy was already advanced to the point of morning sickness but I didn't want to interrupt their back and forth.

Meanwhile, as they argued over the possibilities surrounding my confirmed suspicion, I was lost in thought.

Would this be enough to change things?

“This isn't something we're used to. Maybe she can reach out to the moon goddess through the witches we have in the pack to figure it out. I'm genuinely scared of doing something that'll hurt her,” the doctor explained his confusion.

“You're right. Thank you Doctor Ben, we'll be out of your hair, I'm sure you've had a crazy day,”

“Thank you Luna. Congratulations,” he finally smiled and we did get out of his hair.

As we left the clinic, Ares met us halfway. Axel had told him where we were and he rushed over.

“Hey Mama, what is wrong?”

“You might need to sit down for this one brother,” Axel said, his hand wrapped around my waist.

I noticed that possessive aura that Kane had , wrap around him gradually as we headed to the house. I knew Axel had a bad side to him, they all did but I knew he'd never go as far as Kane did. I guess the fact that I could have lost the baby during the battle yesterday scared the shit out of him and he was all over the place. A little bit of reassurance and he'll be fine; hopefully.

We got into the room, I saw that the room had been decorated and food served on the table.

“Sorry, I asked some Omegas to do something for us so we could celebrate our victory before the craziness took away the chance for that,” Ares explained, a blush creeping onto his cheeks.

“Aww, this is so beautiful,” I cooked, taking the rose on my own seat and smelling it. “It's my favorite,”

“Well, the setting is definitely perfect for the news that we have,” Axel said as he took his seat.

“Yea, what's up? Is she okay?”

I nodded and took his large hands in my tiny ones.

“The doctor says I'm pregnant,” I whispered and I watched his face morph into shock.
