When I sat up, it was as though everywhere was deserted. It was nighttime and I had expected my mates to be here or something but the entire house was empty. There's no way they were still in the capital, it wasn't supposed to take the whole day. I checked the time and it was about eight PM.

I shrugged and changed into something less dramatic, jeans and a cute, pink mesh top with a sweetheart neckline and I walked out of the house, a feeling of excitement creeping up my spine.

As I walked, I noticed I was glowing a bit differently. Like I had ingested a light bulb or something. In fact, people around me were finding it difficult responding to my greetings because their necks were bent way too much out of respect. Their wolves must be feeling a little too much of my power than usual.

“Weird,” I muttered and kept walking. It was so bad that I couldn't pull back this energy, it felt like I was punishing them or something. I could have teleported to the pack house but I didn't want to spring up on people randomly like that. They already look at me weirdly enough, no need to worsen the situation.

“Ares? Where are you guys?” I asked, using the mindlink.

“Here babe, where have you been?” he didn't even sound worried. Weird.

“Here where?” I couldn't help the anger in my tone.

“At the pack hall, we're working on something,”

Weird because we were about moving half of this pack to the capital, so what were they working on?

Anyways, I teleported there, hoping there weren't many people there so I wouldn't freak them out considering I'd been away from the pack for a while.

When I popped in, I noticed a lot of chaos in the otherwise clean room.

“What's going on?”

“Just a little renovation. Who knows, we might have to celebrate something,” Axel replied with a wink that turned my insides to mush.

I stood by the side as I watched them bring down poles, wood and move around chairs. Whatever it was for, it wasn't for the reason Axel had just said. Something curled inside of me at the idea of them keeping secrets from me.

Anyway, I turned around to leave but remembered why I'd been looking for them in the first place, that is if you take away the attention I wanted; which didn't get. Cue the eye roll.

“When you guys are done, we have something important to discuss,” I said to the both of them and walked away, a lot angrier than I was when I got here.

After I had dinner all by myself in our house, I made the bed and laid down. I couldn't sleep even if I wanted to, not just because of the overwhelming anger in my body but because I just didn't feel it.

I was pregnant for crying out loud, wasn't I supposed to feel sleepy?

I wanted to be asleep when they got back so I didn't sound like a whining child, desperate for attention but sleep wouldn't come.

I heard the door open and I smelt their scent, the forest floor scent mixed with the musky and masculine scent emanating from the both of them forced a calmness into me that I didn't want.

I wanted to be angry, damnit!

“There you are, Princess, where have you been all day?” Axel asked as he came to kiss my neck on the bed.

I shoved him away gently because I was secretly enjoying the attention.

“Damn, someone's upset. What did you do to her, Axel?”

“Me? I just walked in here with you, what do you mean?” He asked defensively and I curled up further in a cocoon of myself.

Then everywhere was quiet.

I counted to five and turned around, seeing everywhere empty.

I think I was close to tears at the realization that they didn't even care about my mood; like I was a joke to them.

But then, I began to hear music and I perked up in confusion. It was slow, sensual and the words were really suggestive. I adjusted my legs, reminding my pussy that our men were not paying attention to us today.

“Ares? What's going on?” I asked, my voice sounding weird from the tears I'd swallowed.
