The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 79: CHAPTER SEVENTY-NINE

The tense silence in the room was confusing at first but the only feeling that persisted in my mind was that I was unwanted.

They were supposedly royals and yet, they thought I was safer with strangers and didn't even bother to send someone to check on me.

Whatever their reasons were, I wasn't interested in it and I was not going to be used in their war, their intentions be damned.

I got up from Axel’s body as they began arguing aloud, each person throwing words that no one bothered to hear.

I went to my closet and got into my running gear, getting into the elevator.

I got to the pack house common room and noticed how quiet everywhere was.

Is this what Flynn meant earlier on? I hope something else wasn't wrong, whoever my foster father has used to get his evil message across might have done a lot more damage

I walked into the sleeping quarters for Omegas and knocked on a few doors, yet no one opened up.

I was getting scared at this point.

I walked all the way outside and I noticed the weather. It looked like it was about to rain which was odd, it wasn't the season for it.

“You are a Luna now, huh. Must be feeling ecstatic,” I heard and I quickly turned around.

It was the witch.

I hadn't spoken to her since the incident. I may have made peace with her dragon because of Lyra but I found it hard to forgive her, not only for what she did to Kane and how she used him to carry out her horrid plans but also, her actions made go into a coma and that horrid god touched my soul. I feared the day I'd see them again, which seemed inevitable seeing how my life was filled with death threats every time.

So I ignored her jab, something was afoot here.

“Flynn said you were aware of what was happening. The entire pack is in deep sleep, which is really absurd, what could be the cause?” I asked her, noticing how different she looked now.

Her skin was more polished, her hair shiny and her outfits were quite cute. I guess she had been introduced to Maggie. The woman might have a permanent angry face but she was the epitome of a real life fairy godmother.

“I smell a combination of mandrake and NightShade. Hmm, this person must have been doing a whole lot to have induced this amount of sleep from everyone. Maybe you should stop your men from screaming like little children and go check the cameras,” she replied, swishing away like it was a very normal day.

“Please tell Scarlet to inform Lyra she can connect back with me. I'm ready now,” I said to her receding back.”

“Will do,” she replied as she set off.

I began to wonder what her actual normal day consisted of as I hadn't seen her since that day.

But I had more important things to deal with.

“Can you guys please stop arguing over something so irrelevant and come check what is happening to the pack? Elena said the person used mandrake and NightShade at the same time so this is going to last a long time. What if we got attacked?” I said loudly into the mindlink and I closed it immediately to avoid all of them talking to me at the same time but I knew that had sprung them into action.

They got downstairs and met up with me as I kept knocking on doors, trying to wake people up but Axel ran off to the security room.

“Maybe you use the mindlink for the entire pack. If we can get to their subconscious, it might wake their bodies up, what do you think?” I suggested to Kane.

“That's a good idea, babe but I doubt it'll work. It didn't work so much on us because we are Alphas, but I'll put a call to our pack’s witch so she can help us with solutions. Everyone, please be on guard, I have a feeling the traitor is still here,” he said, and that did little to put my mind at ease.

“What about Elena? Can't she help? Before your witch would get here, something might have gone wrong.” Flynn added, a sense of panic in his voice.

“Sure, talk to her, the faster the better” Kane replied and I saw Ares brushing his fingers through his hair in frustration.

Today wasn't going too well. My mind was filled with unease and we kept walking around trying to rouse people but even though they were breathing fine, they were fast asleep.

I felt Lyra connect back to me as Axel came to meet us when we got to the Alpha’s office.

“What's up, any idea about the identity of the person?” Ares asked, noticing his brother bouncing with a weird excitement as he connected the USB drive he came back with and he explained everything, shocking us all.

“You know, the security cameras I uploaded were of two kinds. Visible and invisible. So the person obviously covered the visible ones but the ones directly under it caught them as they were doing it. I feel like a freaking genius. The face looks familiar but it's your pack, Kane. You'll figure it out, give me a minute. They were a part of the whole thing last night but he made it a personal job to get people water and he infused it with it. I feel like he overdosed the pack and poured the rest into the air and that's why we're awake and they are fast asleep. He overdosed them. Here, recognize him?” He said as he finished whatever magic he was working on to show us.

And even I was shocked as the face of our traitor came into view.

“That's Cora’s mate. That's my brother in law!” Kane growled, anger and disappointment covering his face and it was something we all related to.
