The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 94: CHAPTER NINETY-FOUR

Everything was weirder when I woke up the second time. I was quickly rushed to a different house, well, house was an understatement. It was a mansion. I thought I'd seen the most beautiful houses between Kane and NightShade Pack combined but this was a beauty on a totally different level. The theme of the mansion was gold and an obsession with dragons.

There were statues of dragons everywhere, a huge one at the entrance, even in the car I was driven in, it was drawn into the interiors and plates.

I asked questions but got nothing more than, “don't worry, everything will make sense soon” no matter what I had asked. I was beyond frustrated.

To make things worse, it seemed the mindlink wasn't working which made me feel so cold and alone inside despite being surrounded by a flurry of servants and weirdly smiling faces.

I was taken inside, a wildly pink room attacking my eyes as the door was opened. Don't get me wrong, I love the color but even the floor was startling pink.

“Look, if I am being kidnapped, at least be nice enough to tell me. I've never been so confused and that's saying a lot considering the life I've lived. So please, tell me what's going on, where are my mates?” I asked the girl wearing a white and black maid dress who was busy decorating my hair.

This was after I was made to bathe, my face was made up and I was made to wear this ridiculous frock. I found out I was a jeans and shirt girl at any point in time since I got the freedom to decide what to wear so being tied up like some ‘80s princess wasn't appealing in any way.

“Please Princess, please we can't give any information out because we're not privy to these things. Just allow us to get you ready to meet the King and Queen so they can answer all your questions. I'm sorry,” she told me and I could feel the sincerity in her tone so I let it go for the umpteenth time today.

I had called for Lyra several times even though I could feel her presence but each time she tried to respond, something held her back.

Now that I think about it, I had naively ingested a strange, bitter substance from a total stranger. What if in exchange for making me feel stronger than I have ever felt before, it also took my powers?

I was scared of showing my abilities to these people. Who knew who they were or what they were capable of?

As I was led down the long flight of stairs, several servants were bowing down to their waist to me, leaving me confused.

“Get up please,” I said for the umpteenth time. I was a Luna and quite used to respect but this was entirely a whole different experience. They were acting like I was a part of their weird monarchical set up or something.

I breathed a sigh of relief when we eventually got into the car. It was crazy how many servants they had but I guess considering the sheer size of the palace, it made sense.

“So, is the destination a secret as well?” I poked, hoping for an answer this time. I'd thought my interaction with Flynn had taught me patience but this tested me beyond my limits.

The two maids and the driver exchanged looks between each other, none of them supplying me with a response.

Fine. I guess I could wait a few more minutes considering I'd been holding on for an explanation for goddess knows how long.

I just wish I had access to Lyra at least. All of these seemed sketchy and weird.

We drove through a beautiful, rich town with the same gold themed across the valleys and hills.

The scenery made me forget my own problems for a while as I gaped at the beautiful structures that laid in perfectly with the natural environment. Trees and houses intertwined with each other in an intentional way that only served to make it more beautiful.

Above the town were twin volcanic mountains that were lit up. I was wondering why it wasn't hot everywhere. I mean, I had a reason for not melting in the possible heat but what about them?

“Are those real?” I asked, hoping I didn't get ignored again. These faces were a pain in my ass all day and had been ignoring my questions but this seemed harmless enough.

“Yes, Princess. It's a very important part of our great town,” the driver whose name I learned was Kieran answered me.

I was confused for a second and then it hit me all at once.

“The queen said I was brought home and Flynn said something about, wait, what are the names of the King and Queen?” I asked again, trying to piece all of this together even though it was causing me another bout of migraine.

But the car stopped without me getting any answer and I looked at the place.

It was a huge building which seemed out of place in this quaint, beautiful town.

I could only see the front of it and as I was about to come down, someone ran out of the entrance and dropped a red carpet for me to walk on.

This was getting weird fast.

I looked at the people I came with and they smiled at me, encouraging me to go on.

What sort of weird stuff was going on? They healed me, dressed me up in a mansion and are now sending me into an amphitheater that was fully packed from the sounds I heard.

It felt like I was being led to perform at a fully packed 02 Arena but I couldn't turn around and run now, could I?

So I walked on, my heart in my throat.

As I got nearer, people were being pushed back so I could walk in.

“Princess! Princess!” They chanted, the noise beating an unbearable drum in my ear.

I wish I'd been kidnapped with my damn earplugs, this was torture.

I smiled at them, their excitement at seeing me very confusing but I didn't want to be rude.

In the center of the large gathering, a big podium was set and the King and Queen sat on lofty thrones, all smiles as I approached.

Finally, I got close enough and everyone stood up and the cheering got louder.

I couldn't help but cover my ears, the noise making me dizzy.

The King then got up and a hush fell on the excited crown.

He took my hand and helped me atop the huge stage while my heart palpitated in confusion and fear.

“People of Arkonos!” he bellowed

Wait, what? That name sounds way too familiar.

The crowd responded with an ear splitting roar at their King's call.

Before he continued, my eyes began flitting across the crowd, my confusion at an all time high. That name sounded way too familiar and as my eyes landed on the unmistakable face of Flynn, the dots finally connected.

“Your future Queen, Princess Aurora Lyra Arkonos is back home!” He screamed and everyone went agog with excitement

As everything became clear, it was all I could do to stifle the growing anger that welled within in place of the confusion that was there before.

“Home indeed,” I scoffed.
