The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 53: CHAPTER FIFTY-THREE

“KANE’S POV”

When I spoke to my sister this morning, she had expressed how the pack was feeling antsy as a result of my absence and I was confused about leaving without finding Aurora.

We had been feeling like absolute failures over the last few days in many ways.

After discovering how easy it would be for the vampire, witches and rogue wolves who had joined together to destroy the world as we know it, we began to make plans to protect our pack.

We had gone to the council yesterday and given them the video of the incident but somehow I had the feeling they had been compromised because no real action was decided upon.

We had called and called the phone number we had gotten, we had tracked the car, we had driven around town, looking for Aurora and we were frustrated.

Our Packs would naturally suffer this and I didn't even know the way forward. Axel swore to attach a tracker on Aurora the moment we found her and I totally agreed. She was never going to leave our sight again but first, we must find her.

She had not been hurt and I somehow felt her getting stronger every minute, making me confused on what was happening.

As we woke up this morning, the three of us got a text message with a location and like fools, we ran into a random SUV and drove like maniacs, not even caring if it was a trap.

The moment we got into the mansion, we smelt her. My wolf nearly howled in excitement but I had to rein it in as we were obviously close to humans.

Scared of this being another dead end, we began asking questions right from the gate.

The entire compound had her scent but she was nowhere to be found. The feeling of missing her by a hair's breadth filled me with dread. What if this person was playing games with us? He seemed like he was with us but wasn't happy about it.

Finally, we forced our way into the door and began making demands.

When Aurora walked into the room, I was feeling all shades of anger and frustration but the moment she touched me, it was like drinking water after spending the whole day in a scorching desert.

Even though we didn't find the man she called Flynn, we found her and the joy was overwhelming.

Before anything could dampen that, we took our mate to my pack, and I finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Immediately we got in, it was already evening and I set them all up in the big house where I was sure her fire incidents could be properly handled.

The whole pack was excited about my return and quickly began putting together a cookout to celebrate it.

I knew they were all scared with me not even having an heir yet and I was all over the place, putting my life in danger. I trusted my Beta to take care of things in my absence but he still had our human investments to look after and when I saw him, he looked pretty knackered.

“Please don't ever do this again” he said as I went to give him a bro-hug and we laughed.

“My mate situation took a dramatic turn but we've come to a rather workable solution”

“Oh. Is she yours or theirs?” Jayden asked, confusion lacing his features.

I sighed.

“She chose us three. What's worse? Our wolves prefer it. Our human minds were just late to the party”

“Well, I hope the pack doesn't throw a tantrum over it. There's bad blood between us after all”

“When I get to that bridge, I'll cross it. For now, I need to brief you on what is going on with our world. We need to change our security systems and start watching our for traitors”

“Wow! What is going on? Traitors?”

“Yes, Jay. The Beta female of NightShade Pack kidnapped our mate. If she could do that, anything is possible. Better to be safe than sorry. But we must be discreet.”

“Great idea, Alpha. We must protect our pack against whatever is coming. While you were away, your mate's mother showed up at the pack territory. She won't say how she got in here but we've locked her up next to her husband. Would you like to see her?” He informed me.

“Now, there's only one way she could have found us and that is through the help of a witch. I'll deal with that tomorrow. Right now, I need to rest. Besides, the pack needs the bonding this party will bring. Let us focus on it. We'll deal with the weird couple tomorrow”

“Alright. I'm so happy you are back. Your job is the most difficult one”

“Oh Jayden, you did exceptionally well and I'm grateful to have you as my Beta. Let's see to it that nothing comes in between us, yea?”

“Of course Alpha. I'm sworn to protect your interest” he assured me and I nodded before heading to my sister's house.

“Hey Cee! Sorry, Cora” I greeted as she was feeding her baby.

She quickly dropped it and jumped into my arms.

“Don't ever do that again! You were gone for so long and then no one could reach you, they were saying so many things. I was this close to coming to find you but Damien isn't fit for long distance travel –” she rambled on and on but all I could do was appreciate the blessing that she is to me.

So I hugged her properly this time and she broke down in tears.

“It was just a little coma but you know your brother. Strong as ever” I joked

“It's not funny! You could have died”

And of course, Damian gets tired of being ignored and joins the conversation

“Daaa!”

I went to him and I just imagined Aurora with a swollen stomach, carrying our child. The blood ran down my body but I controlled myself immediately.

“You are taller than me now, aren't you” I jokingly asked him in baby tones and the handsome man laughed, showing me his four teeth.

My sister's mate comes in while I'm playing with Damien and he bares his neck in submission.

“Alpha, you are here! I apologize for my tardiness. Beta Jayden has us rearranging the whole routine. I don't understand what is wrong with the old one. I hope he's not doing that to impress you” he grumbled.

“No Cameron. I instructed him to. We are facing forces bigger than we've ever seen and we need to be prepared. I will give the pack a proper briefing tomorrow. Do you have any other issues with your Beta?” I asked in a grave tone, suspicious.

“Of course not, Alpha. I'm happy to follow all instructions” he quickly corrected his earlier stance

I won't stand for anyone disrespecting my beta, even if he's my sister's mate. I know deep down, he wants that position but too bad Jayden is perfectly suited to it and he's been my best friend all my life.

I dropped Damien, a dazzling smile on his face as I said my goodbyes and took my leave.

“Alpha, we are ready.” My Delta informed me through the mindlink and I headed to my house to bring my mate and the twins.

I hope it goes without any hitches, I really just want to do this and go be with my mate.
