They watched me for a second as I walked away from them before rushing after me.

“Wait, sorry for that. We'll get our shit together” Axel said, holding me from going further which was good because I had no idea where I was storming off to.

“What if we all just stay in one house? I can leave the bed for you three and sleep on the couch.” Ares said and I looked at him.

Wait, was he still not interested in me?

“That's a good idea brother. What do you think, Kane? My house will be the best since I have the biggest bed” Axel suggested and I saw how much this meant to him.

If we could all get along, he'll definitely have his life back. The heartbreak he's always trying to hide won't burden him so much. I've touched him several times in the hopes that what happened to their mom and those people in the safehouse will happen as well but he has not been able to connect to his dead mate and I have been wondering why.

Kane grumbled his acceptance and we followed Axel to his house.

He lived in an actual cabin! I smiled as we got closer to it. I have always wanted to be in one after Cordelia in twelfth grade gave us a lengthy description of her family's vacation.

I normally wouldn't be privy to that information but I guess she wanted to show off even to the class outcast. I was unusually beautiful so she hated me personally. I guess I got ugly as the years went by or something.

When we entered, his house was almost like an office. Everything was brown and dark colors. His sitting room had plush cushions and a library. I'll definitely check that out tomorrow, it's been a while I looked at a book; seems like a lifetime now.

The house had very big glass windows and thick curtains yet I felt very safe with them.

“Over here. I'll bring the cushion for Ares” he directed us to a large bedroom with an earthy vibe and the same masculine tone the whole house seemed to be going with.

I walked to the windows and opened all of them. Even though the poison went out of my body the moment they pierced my mark again, I still felt hot in small spaces, just not the painful type.

I turned around and saw Axel walk into the room, casually carrying a three seater couch like it weighed nothing.

I zeroed in on his bulging muscles and that fluttering feeling in my stomach began again.

I averted my eyes and took deep breaths. I don't want to start a fire in this beautiful house.

Ares had gone to the bathroom immediately after we got here and as he walked out, I realized it might be difficult to not get overheated as I planned.

His chest was doing things to my mind.

“Put on a shirt, Ares. We don't want our mate to combust” Kane growled and I jumped, blushing profusely.

I sat down on a chair awkwardly watching them all get ready for bed.

Axel brought snacks for me and when I went to refuse, he shook his head.

“You can eat it yourself or I can feed it to you. I've got all night” he said.

He was obviously excited by that second option.

“Fine. Just a little” I replied, smiling at him.

He went to his wardrobe and brought out his shirt and shorts.

“Here. When you are done, you bathe and put it on”

Kane growled and came over to us

“No. She's going to put mine on” he declared.

I looked at him and I found it irritating and hot at the same time. I'm a mess, I know.

“Dude, your clothes are dirty. You want us to wait till you dry clean them?” Axel replied.

“It's just a shirt. It won't take that long”

I looked at Ares, hoping he'd come in between the two but I noticed he had already settled himself on the couch and a book was in his hand.

I looked back at the two of them staring each other down and I got up and went to the bathroom.

I took a quick shower and I wore the same outfit I wore earlier.

As I came out, their hostility was evident and I noticed they had placed the clothes on the bed, waiting for me to pick one.

“Look, mine is clean and all. You don't need to wear what he has been putting on all day” Axel began.

“I'm your mate, none of that matters”.

It was weird watching two grown Alpha males arguing over something so little.

I refused to get into their crap.

To everyone's shock, I walked over to Ares.
