The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 21: CHAPTER TWENTY ONE
“Aurora's POV”
I had been floating endlessly for maybe minutes, days, eons, I couldn't know. There was no way to track time or matter, everything and everywhere was pitch black. It didn't matter if I opened my eyes or closed them. I would have thought I was blind but I couldn't hear anything either, no fell contact with anything. All I did was float.

After what seemed like an eternity, I saw a tiny light in the distance. I got so excited and I tried moving towards it but it kept moving away from me. The more I stretched towards it, the farther it got until I screamed out in frustration.
Then it stopped moving.
Someone walked in front of the light, blocking its rays halfway.
“Daughter of Arkonos. What are you doing in my world?” The man asked. Before I could answer, he raised his hand and I gained control of my body, and I began walking towards him.
“I don't know where I am or what is happening. I think I'm dead” I said, suddenly realizing it. I glanced at my body but it was glowing, confirming my theory.
He moved slightly to the right and I could finally see his face. He was quite handsome, with a scar slashed right across his face. From his brows down to his chin in a horizontal line, the scar made him look like a seasoned warrior.
“Well, not quite.” he flicked his hand and two chairs appeared.
He gestured for me to sit and he did the same, pulling out a bottle from thin air.
I sat down hesitantly, still confused about the man and what I was doing here.
“So where am I? The last thing I remember was hearing that man talk about his mate in such a painful way. Losing a mate is probably the most painful thing” I said, remembering the look on his face.
“Well, you mortals have a way of complicating things. You get chained to one person your entire life and fate does you the favor of taking them and you start throwing tantrums instead of a party.” He said, a wicked look on his face while he sipped his drink. He offered me a cup but I shook my head. This man was weird and his thoughts too.
“So if I'm not dead, where am I and how can I get back? I don't feel too comfortable in the dark.” I expressed my discomfort .
“Well, your body is still out there but the part of you that makes the universe happy you exist, the best parts are all in here. I've watched many souls pass through this chasm and they are examined. You shine brightest,” he said, an indecipherable look on his face.
I didn't understand why he sounded like that, like he was in charge of this pre afterlife place I ended up in.
“So you are saying this is where people are judged and you are in charge of it?” I asked, seeking clarification.
“Well, not judgment per se. When I see your soul, I can decide which of the portals in the soul room can carry your weight. Either Paradise or hell. But some people are not done with their fate, so I have to send them back. Just like you,” he added.
“I’m going back? Oh wow. Well, what are we waiting for? Which way do I go?” I asked, getting up in excitement.
I was already feeling claustrophobic even though the place was an endless amount of space. But the only source of light was at the back of the spirit that was sitting in front of me, unmoving.
His presence was dark yet it felt like he was all things good, a ying-yang type of aura radiated from him. I felt like if I pissed him off, he could put me through a lot of pain.
He raised his head and looked at me like he was thinking about something really hard.
“Aurora, please sit down. I was saying earlier how you are different from any other soul I've met before and the idea of letting you go hurts my spirit. Also, I've looked at your life and they have not treated you right. I'm the god of second chances, but I don't think I want them to experience you again when I can give you everything you've ever wanted” he said, a feeling of dread crawling over me.
“Wait, you want me to remain here with you? How?” I asked, bewildered.
“Smart girl. We can decide the fates of everyone who passes through and you will do such an amazing job at it. Just imagine us ruling the expanse of this space, beautiful, right?”
“No!” I exclaimed, jumping out of the seat I was in out of anger and shock. I paused in order to reel in my anger. This god or spirit knew I had three mates. I may not be in love with them but my soul was tied to them and the thought of not being with at least one of them tore something up inside me; yet he wants me to stay here in this darkness with him.
“I'm sorry but I don't want to be here with you.” I said in a calmer tone. “I just started living my life, I can't stay here with some strange man. I want to see how it goes and look, if I do die and come back here, it'll be possible for us to be together since you are so sure they will treat me horribly but I need to go back” I pleaded.
His mood changed drastically.
“Well, I don't think I mentioned giving you a choice. You are staying here, and that's not up for further discussion” he stated.

“ARES' POV”
I was floating in darkness for a long time but suddenly there was so much light I couldn't open my eyes.
“What's going on?” I asked groggily.
“Alpha? You are awake! Finally!! Titi, get the Beta, Alpha Ares is awake!” I heard the excited rambling of my pack doctor.
“Yes Dr Tim, I'm awake. Kindly turn off that light, I can't see shit” I said, my voice still sounding so far away.
“Oh, it's your eyes adjusting to light after being closed for so long. It'll be okay soon, just hold on. I'll close the blinds just in case.”
I nodded and in a few seconds, I felt better.
When I could finally see, I sat up from the bed.
“What happened?” I asked him. He was preparing some injection that I guessed was for me. It wasn't a norm for wolves to get so sick they'll need injections. The pack doctor was mainly versed in resetting of bones and stopping blood flow so the wolf can heal properly. But I must have been in a coma for a while if he's looking for more injections to aid my recovery.
“Well, you, Alphas Kane and Axel as well as our Luna collapsed right after the fight and we have been trying to revive you all for the past one week. I'm so happy you are finally awake” he explained.
“A week?!” I asked in shock
“Yes Alpha. I've just heard from my nurse that the other two Alphas are awake but the Luna is still asleep. I don't think she'll be waking up soon considering she's almost human.” He said as he came to inject me
I had been feeling weak before I guess he gave me a shot of adrenaline or something as I felt a bit stronger
“Take me to her” I commanded, feeling like I'll lose my senses if I don't see her.
“Yes Alpha. Be careful” he said as he helped me down from the bed.
Christopher ran into the hospital room and he couldn't help himself, he hugged me tightly
“Please don't ever do that again! I can't handle these people like you guys do. I've nearly grown gray hair” he joked
“You say it like you weren't excited being Alpha for a while. It's got a thrill to it” I said, trying to figure out if he was still loyal after having power for that long.
“Oh no Alpha, I nearly went crazy. Everyone needed me at all times and I couldn't even make out time for my mate. I'm happy you are back” he replied as we entered the room where she was.
“How long will she be like this?” I asked the doctor.
“Well, there is only one sure way to bring her out of this. I have a feeling she's trapped in Limbo," a dreadful expression on his face.
“Limbo? Where is that?” I asked.
“It's where you go when you are in a coma. You are also kind of judged there, I don't know all about it. But getting your mate back depends on the three of you marking her, else, she'll be there for a very long time.”
