The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 75: CHAPTER SEVENTY-FIVE

My nerves were frayed as Cora quickly changed my dress into another one, sheer as the previous, but I barely noticed anything. I was on autopilot.

“Aurora has proved herself worthy of the moon goddess’ mark and without further ado, we will proceed with the ceremony” the elder said and I couldn't agree more.

I was absentmindedly going through the whole event until they brought out the knife to cut my palm.

This was something that had burdened my mind since I got here. Again, I should have had more time to prepare for this but since we didn't have that, I guess everyone was finally going to find out my blood was different and blood poachers were going to be swimming around me like sharks in a few days.

Thus, when they demanded for my hand I didn't hesitate, I had resigned myself to my fate.

Tatiana brought a bowl and placed it under my hand but Kane interrupted the elder.

“Elder Caius, take mine first just in case the knife is poisoned. I smell something off in the air” he commanded and I looked at him, wondering if he understood my fears.

His blood poured into the bowl and for the first time, I knew where that amazing scent was coming from everytime he was close to me.

When the elder had taken the blood of the three of them, he brought it close to mine. I didn't know what they expected to happen but I trusted them.

“I think I understand what they are trying to do. Immediately the elder cuts your palm, make sure he's the only one that'll see your blood. If he's a traitor, well this is a good way to know,” Lyra spoke in my head and I finally understood what might be happening. This whole no communication thing was beginning to piss me off.

I went closer to the elder, making sure we were facing each other and immediately he cut my palm, his eyes widened but I guess Kane said something to him as he quickly wiped the knife and my palm, continuing the ceremony as though nothing had happened. I sighed in relief.

The blood was mixed and passed into the crowd. Everyone who took a drop and tasted it connected my mind to theirs in a way that is difficult to explain. All I knew was that I had a network of minds that would respond if I called them.

I could hear their thoughts as each person joined and in no little time, it became like a market square and I knew I was close to losing it.

“Lyra!” I screamed in my mind, making everyone pause.

“Sorry. The voices were a little bit too loud” I explained

“You're human, Luna. You are not even supposed to hear anything and if you weren't, we've all got our walls up, you definitely can't be hearing us "Elder Caius said to me and it reminded me of the day we found out I could hear animals talk.

“That kind of explains the non-human part we're investigating, people. We don't really know her origins yet so things like this point us in several directions but we'll figure it out soon. Stop thinking for a second while I teach her how to put up walls in her mind, okay?” Axel came to my rescue, making me finally relax.

“Are we allowed to talk now?” I asked out loud, making some people chuckle.

“Yes, Luna. You can finally talk to your mates, I know that part was really hard,” The third elder who was reciting all the words kindly said to me.

“Okay, thank you” I smiled back, grateful.

“Princess, you have to dig deep into your mind. You'll see multiple doors. They belong to all of us. Now, will all of them to close. Go on, they'll obey you” Axel said in my mind and I followed his instructions.

Once I closed every door in sight, I finally felt quietness in my head. I was waiting for him to give me further instructions when I realized I had closed the door where his voice was coming from.

“How do I know which belongs to who? What if I need to talk to someone specifically?” I ask out loud.

“Simple, you imagine the person you want to talk to, and will a door open. You can customize some doors to be for particular people like your mates but generally, any door works perfectly fine.” Elder Caius explained.

I nodded and decided to try it. I imagined his face and then the rest of the pack and I spoke to them.

“Okay, thank you. You guys can resume your conversations, sorry for the interruption” I said and then closed the doors back as quickly as possible.

“Before we run in our wolf forms, celebrating and thanking the moon for today, we have one more thing. The consummation of the mate bond. This would have been done in wolf forms if our Luna was a werewolf but since she's not, we're going to be considerate of her and just take a kiss from the couple” Elder Tim announced and everyone cheered.

I watched in anticipation as Kane walked out of the back side of the temporary altar we were on and came to my side.

“Open our link baby” he said and I did without hesitation. His touch combined with the moondust was already making me heady with need.

“Hi,” I whispered huskily and he wasted no time in claiming my lips. It was mind-blowing, his tongue delving deep into my mouth and taking over my mind. I have never been kissed so ferociously and what's worse was how much I liked it.

“I've wanted to do that since I saw you walking down those Stony steps. I love you so much my queen and I'm sorry about what happened earlier. I do not really remember it but I'm sorry it was me they succeeded in using against you. I promise it'll never happen again. Everyone was taking off their clothes and some were even kissing and quite close to having sex right there in the open.

I quickly opened the mindlink to my three mates so someone could explain what was happening.

“Um, is that normal or am I dreaming?” I asked in confusion.

“Well, you guys finally released pheromones that spurred the fuck before the hunt” Axel said, laughing both in my mind and physically.

“What does that even mean?”

“Ignore Axel, he's being dramatic. Normally, once the Alpha and his Luna are doing it in wolf form, the rest of the pack kind of do the same. Whoever makes their mate cum right after the alpha is allowed to start running. The unmated already gave us a head start.” Ares explained.

“That was what I said!” Axel exclaimed.

“They're right baby, since we can't give them the main deal, our inner animals are releasing pheromones that spurred whatever you are seeing. I'll go shift so you can jump on my back while we run, okay?” Kane said and left my side.

It took me a second before I realized what he said.

“Wait, what? Did he just say I was going to run with him?” I asked in shock.

“Of course. Don't worry, he won't go as fast as he usually is.” Axel said with a wink.

“But that's scary. What if something bad happens?”

“Baby, you're gonna be flying with dragons soon. This is just a preamble” Ares added, which didn't make me feel any better at all.

“Relax, little human. Have you forgotten he's a part of you? He won't let you get hurt” Scarlet said and I didn't know if to be comforted or shocked. That dragon didn't do nice, at all.

“Thank you Scar” I said, really grateful.

“Don't call me that!” She grunted.
