The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 143: CHAPTER HUNDRED AND FORTY-THREE
*Elena’s POV
It was a nasty few days after Lyra rescued Aurora's body from near death.
We were in full blown war and we couldn't even do anything properly because the troops that we could round up before the attack were few and most of them were from NightShade, whose Morales were down because of the state of their Luna.
“When will you be done? They're waiting for you,” Chris asked me, his voice calm this time.
I'd nearly poked out his eye three days ago for talking down on me like that all the time and he changed immediately. He even smiled at me yesterday; progress is all I care about. Maybe one day, I'll be able to tell him how his presence makes me feel like a giddy child but for now, we needed to overcome a war that had the supernatural world at its knees, begging to be rescued.
The worst part? We were not united so the witch Aurora tried to defeat was picking us off one by one.
“I'm nearly done. If anything is amiss, ut won't work,”
I'd done something with the idea Aurora had given us before she went into the cold hands of coma.
Mirrors and herbs were the only way to actually fight those vicious bastards and I was the only one making it so the workload was insurmountable.
I looked like a stick of broom at this point from exhaustion.
As I stirred the cauldron of the herbs that'll be poured over the mirror shields, I cleaned a bead of sweat that coated my forehead.
“Have you um.. been able to rest?” Chris asked, his tone tense as though I was a wild animal instead of him who caged one in his flesh.
“If I rest, people die Chris so I can't,” I replied as I measured a cup of coriander into the mixture.
Everyday, new warriors arrived at our camp turned pack, werewolves, vampires, but no witches.
My species were a quite selfish bunch and I'm sure they were all running to the human world where they could disguise easily and blend in. Dumb of them to think this massacre ended here. In fact, from what Zelda's daughter saw, if they succeeded, it'll be quite safer to be dead than to be a part of the new world
I've been begging Alpha Ares to release Zelda so she could help but he was insistent on punishing her for cutting their bond which he believes is the reason we couldn't rescue her.
“But if you die from exhaustion, everyone would die,”
“Well, tell your Alpha to swallow his feelings and let Zelda come help. Besides, why do you care? I could as well be dead to you,” I grumbled as I turned off the charcoal fire. It was either that or lava from the dragons throat or the potion wouldn't work. The dragons were busy on their own and didn't need me to disturb them
We had three before the King and Queen of Arkonos decided to bring in five more from their realm. We also sent as many children as we could there to help reduce the overpopulation in our safehouse.
It was a crazy situation here and I was always making a new potion everyday for new warriors, dragons and the Alphas who kept getting theirs broken by going too close to the war. It was like they were trying to die or go into a coma to get Aurora out of limbo.
“I'm sorry you're going through this, I'll talk to him again,” he said as he carried the big ice box out of the room they'd set up for me to work in.
I quickly arrange the ingredients for another batch, my legs nearly giving up on me.
Maybe a little nap wouldn't hurt, I thought as I relaxed on the big chair I sat on while working.

*AURORA’S POV
There was nothing that prepared me for the surge of power that ran into my veins the moment I watched the life drain out of the god of Limbo.
I'd poured fire down his screaming throat and I remembered the crazy rush of excitement I'd felt while dealing with that blood poacher back at Arkonos.
I can't lie, I relished in it even though it was supposed to scare the shit out of me. I guess I couldn't lie to my soul.
But the moment he slumped, the transfer of a misty air from him to me began and it was driving me crazy.
At first, I was scared of it, but then it began to feel like I'd been waiting my entire life for this feeling.
When it had finished pouring in, I'd been so stunned I didn't even know I was floating.
Realizing it, I panicked and nearly hit my head on the ground as I stumbled on thin air.
“I've gotten them, they're ready for Dad's decision,” Bez said as he walked into the portal room.
It took him a long second before he realized that the decaying mold on the ground was once his father.
He was shocked at first, not knowing if he should rush to him or not as there wasn't really much to rush to. Then he looked at me, and I didn't see anger in his eyes, only shock.
“You're actually worth it. If I deserved it, I should have killed him myself,” he said quietly, a sense of sadness filling his form.
“I'm happy you've changed your ways Bez, I don't enjoy killing people or gods and their sons. Now, show me how we can give these girls a safe ride home,” I said to him and he came over to me.
But before we started, I snapped my fingers at a guard and pointed at his former boss, instructing him to clean it up. If there were flies in the afterlife, they'd be buzzing over it by now.
“Okay, you have to reach within your, well, soul. Their actions in life will determine where they end up,”
“Wait, not you?” I asked, shocked at their lies
He lowered his eyes before answering.
“It was I and my father's way of getting people to stay back. We don't have powers to decide where they go but we decide if they can stay here or go back to earth,” he explained.
Damn.
I placed my hand on the portal and held the first girl who was already close to tears from everything happening. I guess they never expected to be free of their captor. Some had been there for centuries with no hope of rescue.
I took a deep breath and concentrated on the feeling of the place where the mist had pooled in and immediately, the girl began to dissipate in front of me, her form turning into mist and she went straight into the upper portal.
I smiled, feeling so accomplished. I guess whatever they did on earth didn't matter because of the horrors they'd endured here because the first fifty I'd sent home went to the upper portal.
Until I met one of the girls that helped prep me up last time for her master to rape me.
Turns out, I wasn't the only one angry at her evil existence as she screamed her way into hell.
Suddenly, I remembered who I really was before all of this Limbo business and how Leticia was probably roasting the earth right now with her evil.
“Bez?”
“Yes Mistress,” he replied, bowing a little
“Jeez, relax. I want you to take over, I need to go back to earth. Unfinished business and all,” I said and he broke out in a huge smile.
I guess he was lucky to have repented at the perfect time.
“Thank you so much, I'll not disappoint you,”
“Great. How does that work again?” I asked.
“Oh, just imagine where you want to be or someone you want to be with but they must be alive and all,” he instructed.
I realized that keeping secrets was the key to maintaining limbo because if everyone knew about this, nobody would stay dead.
Quickly, I thought about the men that were my home and suddenly, I was in more familiar surroundings.
“Mate!” They growled in unison, but this time my voice was a part of it.
