The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 55: CHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE

“AURORA'S POV”

After a peaceful night, I got ready for work. Cora had been putting me through my duties as a Luna and I loved it more than I actually thought I would. It was exactly what I did for the past two years, only this time, I was in charge of a lot of things and didn't need to be scolded by anyone for tiny, inconsequential mistakes.

I had been given the chance to see my foster parents but I was scared, honestly. I didn't know how they were going to react to my new personality and I really wasn't prepared for their harsh words.

I was going through the Luna duties and I was comparing it with that of Axel’s Park in my head when Kane entered.

His sister smiled and decided to take a break from teaching me.

I had met her during training the other day and even though she was very nice, the whole situation with Juno made me reluctant to get familiar with anybody else. I still feel hurt when I remember how I thought we were going to be best friends. This didn't mean I was hostile or anything, in fact, I was extremely grateful for how she helped me acclimate to the job.

But then, I loved Cora's son, Damian. He was so excited to come to work with his mom before his father came to pick him up after his shift. Seeing him made me suddenly crave for my own child. I've never planned or thought about children before, what with my home situation. I hadn't even dreamt of ever getting married and now, it seemed I could dream on and on.

“Hey baby. How is the work going?” Kane asked, coming to my side of the table to peck me.

They had all been getting very touchy since the pack accepted our union three days ago at the cookout. I was happy we had gotten that out of the way and probably we'd have an actual Luna's Ceremony this time without interruptions.

It was quite exciting watching everyone interact so happily and I met a few ladies that were my age and newly mated as well. I was planning a picnic with them later so I can get to know more about their way of life.

Since nothing was standing in the way of us being together all the way, I've been expecting them to take the initiative, but they seemed content treating me like a flower.

“It's actually in my niche, you know. Organizing events, the pack routine and all that. I used to do that when I worked for Mr. Jayden Black” I said to him.

“Well now he's going to be working for you”

“Working for me? How? Did he resign from the company?” I enquired, and he smiled.

“Jayden is my Beta, remember? You can give him orders now. He's your Beta as well. And when your dragon finally shows up, you will be more powerful” he said, kissing my lips quickly.

I felt a rush in my nether region but it wasn't as strong because of the fact he just dumped on me.

Mr. Black was a very harsh man and he ruled the office with an iron fist. I wasn't ready to face the possibility of him being under me in any capacity.

“I need you to pick out some clothes here, no need to send you shopping with anybody as the last one didn't go so well. I also have a couple of jewelries that will be delivered to you later in the evening and here's your personal car. It comes with my most trusted guards. You are a queen and I'll treat you as such, okay? Let me know if you need anything” he said to me and I was very overwhelmed.

“But you don't have to do all that. Thank you so much” I said, tearing up a little.

“Common, don't cry. You deserve the best. Besides, a dragon rider needs to have a perfect life so you can be the best. Now, I have gotten you a trainer, not Fang and his weird skill. He's going to be training you every evening, privately. We don't want anyone getting any idea about how special you are. I gotta go so when you are done, we're taking you to dinner in town, okay?”

“Okay.” I smiled, cleaning my eyes and holding back the urge to light up my fingers.

“Oh, and here. We found this in the place you were kidnapped. I noticed you still struggled with the fire and I did a research on it and found it stores power for every magical being. So anytime you feel extreme emotions, pour it in here and remember, you are very special, Aurora. Get ready tonight, we are taking you on a date” he said and kissed me again before leaving.

I was feeling so happy and elated. I've never seen this side of him and it made me feel giddy inside.

Maybe I was finally getting a reprieve from my sad past.

I was back to my work in better spirits, getting the pack accounts straight.

But then I noticed something weird. It seemed like they were in debt but it was paid back immediately on the same day we got back.

DarkMoon was very rich and had a thriving empire financially, there was no need to borrow anything from anybody. I filed away that information for later as I closed for the day and went to see Cora so she could help me prepare for tonight.

I got in and she was gushing about how obsessed her brother was with me.

“Look, he has been through a lot so please take it easy on him. He might make mistakes along the way but he's very loyal, okay?” She said as she finished my make up touches.

I was weirded out but I filed it in my mind for later.

“Thank you so much, Cora. You are a lifesaver.”

“It's my pleasure, Luna. Please have fun” she waved me off as I entered the back seat with my three mates and when I made eye contact with each of them, they looked ready to devour me.
