In the cover of night, we attacked fiercely. There was no warning before we set everywhere awash with violence.

The car stopped and I came down, my nerves frayed. Axel hugged me for a long second, our hearts beating In sync.

“Please be safe,” he whispered to me even though we were at the precipice of a huge war that could end our lives.

“I will baby, you too,” I whispered back, holding his head in my small hands. “I love you both so much,”

“And we love you too Mama, let's end all of this once and for all, okay?” I turned to Ares who joined us, his nakedness not affecting us in any way.

He kissed my lips and my tongue caught the salty taste of my tears.

“Hey, we've got this baby, we've got this, okay? You're so strong and powerful and I know you'll avenge our child,” Axel added after kissing me as well.

He cleaned my tears and kissed my forehead one last time before shifting into his massive furry wolf and I watched as a warrior helped him into his armor. Ares did the same thing and gradually, I watched them all rush into battle, my heart caught in my throat.

I was leading fathers, sons, daughters, mothers and mates into a war that I wasn't completely sure of its outcome and I felt instantly morose but as Ares began giving them the call for war in the mindlink, my confidence returned bit by tiny bit.

“Tonight, we take back our lives! Our peace! Our sovereignty!” The resounding response in the link was overwhelming and in the next second, I heard the first cry of an enemy as his throat got torn out viciously.

The point of the mirror armor covering each wolf like clothing was to break the influence of compulsion Leticia had on them. This divided their army into two.

The ones who were forced into this didn't get to die because the effect of it knocked them out and those who weren't forced stood their grounds to fight for their own selfish interests.

I looked around at the large field we'd come to, I remembered Axel informing me of how this used to be the capital of the werewolf world. The council gathered here and decisions that affected the entire supernatural world were taken in this part of the world.

Thus, Leticia thought it wise that this was the perfect place to gather her army. It served us perfectly as well I guess because Ares had finally made the call and the Vampire Covens as well as the other shifter colonies would easily make it here; if they did decide to join us.

The space was vast and barren like a dessert and I knew that this used to be a healthy foliage with greenery. But when you bring thousands of warriors into one place, the earth seems to withdraw its grace.

I looked around at the chaos, looking for the perfect spot to lure my foster mother to as I wouldn't want to hold back.

I teleported to different spots in the massive field and I knew where she'd be more powerful because of the river so I moved away from it.

Finally, I found the spot close to their armory.

It was deserted, save for a few enemy wolves who were giving out herbs.

I raised my hand and before they could overreact, I set them ablaze, the entire line of shafts catching fire.

I realized my power was more intensified now, making it a very important decision to take this away from the main battle field.

With each spurt of fire I released, I felt stronger, my body seeming to glow.

I decided to draw her attention with the fire, and hopefully she'd decide to check where it was coming from.

I'd seen the damage the dragons had done but I saw the machine that was used to hurt Tharros so bad he couldn't fly. Funny enough, it was made of wood and I flew over it, burning it until everything turned into ash.

“You're not dead,” I heard the icy voice of my foster mother from down below.

I breathed deeply and descended down to where she stood, an angry look on her face.

“Naa, I don't like that situation. How are you doing, Mom?” I could feel that part of me that enjoyed killing Bez’s father creeping up in my mind and no matter how hard I tried to, I couldn't stop it.

At the mention of Mom, her face switched into an angry snarl

“I'm not the mother of such a fucking freak!” She shrieked, raising her hands to attack me but I hung them where they were raised with my powers.

“You don't wanna do that and hey, weren't you the one begging for me to call you Mom? You want my fire power so badly but that's where you draw the line?” I drawled, teleporting to different parts of her body with a smirk on my face, “You don't like these new powers I got?”

“What are you?”

“Oh, that's a secret I can only tell my friends,” I stopped in front of her, and I crooked a finger under her chin, raising it up to meet my eyes. “Are we friends, Leticia?” I whispered, her skin sizzling under my hot touch

“Y…yes!”

“Good, good. Kindly call off your minions then. I don't want people dying unnecessarily anymore. I mean, haven't you done enough damage?” I asked, peering deeper into her face.

“F..father wanttts complete dominion,”

“Of this earth?”

She nodded and I took my hand off her face.

“Well, what if I send you back to him, hm? But in tiny little pieces,”

“You're sick!”

“Says the one that ended entire packs, killing women and children and sparing nobody!” I screamed in her face. She stepped back, fear finally creeping into her expression.

I smiled.

“I..I'll give you one chance, take your wolves away and I won't disturb you guys ever. You'll have your own little kingdom while I do my job,” she proposed with shaky breaths.

“Hm, let me think about that,” I said and I decided to try something. “I don't think I like that idea. I loved the way it was before and I want things to go back to normal,”

“Then I don't have a choice but to unleash the creatures of Tartarus on you all!” she roared, a new found confidence coming to her features.

“You can't do that, I won't let you,” I growled, and I saw my hands were aflame already.

“You can't kill me, I'm the child of a god so do whatever you want, I'll open that portal in every pack and coven in this world and end all of you once and for all,” she screamed and shook her hand out of my grip.

She raised her hands and a torrent of water pulled out of the river opposite us and began heading our way.
