The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 184: CHAPTER HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-FOUR
“Look, I can explain,” he began, already sweating on his forehead.
Flynn didn't know how fucked he was but I decided to play games with him.
“Oh you can?” I asked with a chuckle, “go on. We've got nothing to do anyways,”
He was stunned for a few seconds before diving into some stupid story that made no damn sense. I mean, if he genuinely had children that he loved, he wouldn't be seeking such heinous ways of making money. He had a good life before and he let his stupid ideologies ruin it.
“Flynn, you have three minutes before Tharros gets back. So you have between now and then to convince me to let you survive his wrath,” I cut him off, mid rant.
“Oh. Umm, I can explain, okay? Just..”
“Say the fucking truth man!” Elena exclaimed in his face as Scarlett pour frost at his feet.
Everyone was tired of his bullshit.
“I..I I needed some money and these damn blood poachers, they um, they need your blood for something really important and since you're a goddess now, one drop is enough to get a gallon of drugs,” he stuttered, his eyes filled with panic.
“And the best way to get this drop of blood from me was by killing my dragon?”
“It was supposed to set you on the path of vengeance. There is a lot of plans ongoing for catching you so even if you kill me, blood poachers will send someone else until they catch you,”
If only he knew that after tonight, this realm would only see me few years in between.
I shook my head as Tharros returned and we all turned to his huge form.
“He said he saw some people and he burnt them,” Lyra informed us.
“Jeez! What if they weren't a threat?”
“What are they doing all the way here then? This isn't even a hiker's trail,” Scar replied in his defense.
“He just killed your friends,” I said to Flynn, and I saw the shock on his face.
“Told ya,” Scar said with a grunt.
She loved being right so much and I loved the reaction she always gave when she got her point proven. She was so close to dancing or whatever version of that dragons had; I still had a lot to learn about my people.
Then I looked back at the menace that stood in front of me.
Knowing fully well how much was at stake if I'd gotten into the hands of these people, he went ahead to try to kill Lyra in order to capture me.
I looked at him with disdain and took a step back.
“Please Aurora. Remember how I trained you and showed you the right way to use your powers?” He tried getting me to soften but those memories only pissed me off.
He treated me like some dumb princess even though it was my parent's fault that I'd ended up in that situation.
If I'd grown up the way I was supposed to, he'd be kissing my feet instead of screaming profanities each time I missed a mark.
“Tell Tharros to make his death slow,” I said out loud and rose into the air.
But then he brought out a gun and shot it in my direction.
The shock on my face was palpable but I reacted quickly.
I teleported to his back and brought out a knife from thin air and stabbed his shooting arm
“Ah!” He exclaimed, dropping the gun immediately.
Tharros got down and picked him up with talons.
“Ugh,” I heard a groan and turned around quickly to see Miranda on the ground, blood on her gown.
“Miranda! What were you doing here? I left you so you can escape and you chose to come back?” I screamed and rushed to her.
“Elena, can something be done about this?” I asked as I carried her in my arms.
She was next to me in an instant.
She said some words and pressed her fingers to the injury.
“Damn, that hit an artery. She's going to bleed out before we even make it to the pack house for treatment,”
“Please forgive me for betraying you my Queen,” She whispered weakly.
“Please hold on, I don't think it's safe to teleport so far but we can try –”
“Don't worry about me. I have nothing to live for anyway,” she whispered as she bled out in my arms.
“What if I give her my blood?”
“You're funny. That'll kill her faster than any bullet. Keep your blood in your veins,” Scarlet said as the girl stopped breathing in my arms.
“This is all so sad but she should have come to you with that information the moment she was asked to do it. I don't think she should die for it but I'm not extremely sad either,”
“Elena!” I exclaimed, shocked at her words.
“You heard her! She has nothing to live for which makes her the perfect target for future infiltrations. No need letting guilt eat you up,”
“I can't help it,” I whispered as I lifted her up and we flew to the river.
I found a plank and some flowers and laid her on it, trying to give her the best burial I could with such circumstances.
“You're too kind,” Lyra said as I pushed the body into the river.
“Into your arms we commit this soul, Hades, give her peace and justice,” I whispered and lit the body on fire as it sailed away.
“I hope you don't plan on giving the other bastard a befitting burial,”
“Oh no. With the way Tharros tore into him, Hades wouldn't even accept his soul,”
We climbed back on top of Scarlet and flew back home, the stars accompanying us.
When we got back to the pack, I rushed back home to greet my mates
and prepare to finally go to my new home.
But as I opened the door, what I was met with was a surprise.
