The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 32: THIRTY-TWO
“AURORA’S POV”
After Juno left me to my thoughts, I decided to try and sleep. Funny, I know. I literally just woke up from a ten-day coma, yet I felt tired from all of the emotions.
I tossed and turned for about thirty minutes before I finally slept off.
I saw the beautiful, blue dragon in my dream; it was standing on a green hill, but it seemed it had scorched the earth in front of him as the place was burnt. I doubt grass would ever grow there again.
I approached it hesitantly.
“Hey, there you are. I don't know why I thought I'd see you when I woke up” I said, chuckling nervously.
I felt a strange aura coming from her, like she was angry or something.
“I told you to come with me and instead, you ran to your mates. Now, I can't find you anymore” she said, her voice sounding off.
I couldn't decide if she was angry or disappointed.
“Wait, how was that supposed to work? You don't want me to be with them? Besides, you found me in that place, you can still find me here” I replied.
I felt like I was doing something wrong by telling her all of this so I took a step back.
This made me see her face properly and I realized her eyes were not the beautiful green swirls I knew. This was dark and evil.
No one needed to tell me, I took off in the opposite direction and the dragon came after me, an evil grin on its face.
I looked back for the third time and I missed a step.
I began falling down the hill.
Then I woke up. But it felt like I was enveloped in the dragon's fiery stomach.
I was unusually hot and everywhere was burning.
“Doctor!” I screamed at the door, I was unable to get up.
I was shivering and I felt like I was going to be cooked alive.
“Doc” I said again, my throat dry and hoarse.
He finally opened the door and he took in a deep breath, like he was smelling something deep and sweet.
His nostrils flared and his eyes changed color.
He began slowly approaching my bed in a weird manner, making me sit up in fear.
I could feel the tears threaten to fall as I was in a terrible place at that moment.
When he finally got to the bed, he smiled creepily; it reminded me of the dragon.
“Doc? Are you okay?” I asked timidly.
I hoped this was just some strange thing that he'll snap out of immediately. I didn't have any strength to scream.
He touched my leg and it was as though it burnt him. His eyes changed back to the normal color.
“Oh goddess, Luna I am so sorry. Please forgive me, I don't know what came over me. I'll get your mates immediately!” He said, running out of the hospital room immediately.
I was flabbergasted. My life just keeps getting more dramatic with each passing day.
I removed the big shirt I had on and was in my underwears.
The AC in the room was probably at a normal temperature but I found the remote and increased it. Nothing worked.
I finally got up and walked around the room slowly, heading to the window side.
Maybe I was going crazy or something but I stopped close to the scented candle that was placed on the table next to me and for whatever reason, I placed my near burning hand in it.
I was probably going nuts because I felt instant relief.
I was in this state when the door opened, my mates rushing in and straight to my side.
“What's happening, why are you burning your finger?” Axel asked, shock written on his pretty face.
“I can't explain it, it's making me feel better. Before it, I was burning up” I explained to them.
“Wait, your finger isn't burning?” Ares asked, taking it out of the fire
“No.” I answered as I put the finger back, and I sighed immediately, my temperature cooling down.
“You are one weird creature” Axel muttered under his breath but I guess we all heard it as everyone turned to him.
“What? Can't you see it? I'm sorry Princess but you keep surprising us” he said, lifting his arms in defense.
The doctor came in after and he stayed very far away from me.
“Doc, you said she was in heat. She's not. Come and check her properly” Kane commanded.
“I don't understand. What heat?” I asked, putting a third finger in the fire.
“Well, I don't think you should be worried about that. It's usually for weres of different kinds. It's just a way of nature ensuring you, you know..” Ares explained and I noticed him blush at the end.
What was he talking about?
“I still don't get it” I deadpan.
“It's like drinking a bottle of aphrodisiac. Only, this lasts for three days” Kane replied cooly.
“Oh. Ohh. Well, I don't feel that way at all. Just very sick. The fire is giving me quick relief but except you want to throw me into the fire pit you use to roast meat, I think the doctor needs to do something” I told them.
“Doc, you heard her. Get on with it. I don't understand why you are all the way there.” Ares snapped at him.
“I'm sorry Alpha,” he apologized sheepishly and ran down to my side of the bed and the three Adonis-looking men that are into me stepped aside for him.
I loved how they have overtime began listening to me. Before, they always just told me what to do and I felt very belittled. But now, they were trying to include me on their level.
The doctor began examining me.
He opened my eyes wider and pointed a small torch into it.
He took my hand and evaluated it as well, checking temperature and all of that.
“Open your mouth” he requested and I complied.
The moment he saw it, his eyes widened.
“What? What is it doctor?” I asked immediately.
“Um, I fear you may have been poisoned.”
“What?!!” I heard from three distinctive voices.
