The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 99: CHAPTER NINETY-NINE
I couldn't hold back my anger, my voice carrying far as I shouted at a sad-lookinh Ravena who was as upset about the situation as I was.
“That's outrageous! If they wanted the right to ground me, they should have made an attempt to be a part of my childhood but they gave up that right when they threw me to those horrible people! They don't get to do that now, I'm a grown woman, a Luna and I have three mates for goddess' sake! Look, I'm sorry to drag you into all of this but please take, me to them. They don't get to send you to do their dirty work, if they want to order me about, they have to do it to my face,” I shouted angrily, unable to contain my dismay
“But they've gone to bed,” she muttered in confusion.
“And so? If they won't let me have my peace, then why should they get theirs? They are your king and queen, I understand but except this is a hostage situation and I've been lied to, I'm also a royal and I demand to see my deadbeat parents!” I screamed at the poor girl who was probably regretting trying to help me out but she didn't protest, instead walking out of the room and I followed suit.
We walked down a level before walking up another staircase that led to a whole other wing. We'd met three sets of guards who had tried to stop us but I pulled rank each and every time.
My Luna training was paying off.
But by the time we got closer to their door, it was getting incredibly difficult and I was getting angrier.
The five heavily armed guards insisted the King and Queen had gone to bed and where not to be disturbed.
“They are your king and queen but what are they to me?” I asked rhetorically.
“Your parents, your highness but we are under strict orders to not let you through. Whatever it is can wait till they're back from their trip,” the blonde haired, tall guard told me, his face emotionless.
“Ravena, you can go back. I'll stay here till tomorrow morning. Or is there another exit?”
“No, this is the only way in or out of the royal wing,” she replied.
“Good. You are free to go, I'll wait here till they are ready to see me,”
“Are you sure? I feel you'll get into trouble,” she said, concerned.
“More than I already am? There's nothing to be scared and thank you for today. And hey, if nothing comes out of this, help me interrogate the guy I sent to the healer. I have a terrible feeling up my spine about him, okay?” I instructed and she nodded before walking down the stairs and disappearing from my view.
I sat down on the floor, folding my legs as the guards exchanged looks between themselves.
“Your highness, I don't think the King would be okay with this. They insist on seeing you when they get back from their trip,” another guard said this time, his tone showing less irritation than the first one.
“I can't wait that long. I'm sorry for making your job difficult, I have to see them.” I insisted.
They looked at each other before resuming their stoic stance at the entrance to the corridor if the King and Queen’s room.
I still can't believe my bad luck. I finally escaped from my foster parents only to discover my parents were not much different from them.
I really wished for a different life but then, I won't have my mates so that's not really true. They were probably going mad with worry right now.
Finally, Lyra connected back to my mind but I wasn't in the mood to answer her questions, disappointed in myself for trusting her so much.
“You know I can read your thoughts, right?” She said to me.
“Stupid of me to think that meant we shared a bond that was stronger than anything else. But here you are, choosing them over me. Makes sense since they were with you before you found me but guess what, if they hadn't thrown me across the other part of the world to be beaten and maltreated all through my childhood, we would have grown together, but they did and all for what?!” I screamed at her, finally pouring out my anguish and I felt her visibly recoil at my anger.
“I.. I didn't know, I'm so sorry. We really thought you were happy where you were. Please forgive me,” she said, her tone sad.
“Well, the only place od5ever found happiness was with my mates and I want to return to them but their majesties are placing me on house arrest until they're back from touring their kingdom. Can you imagine? Somehow, I was happier thinking they were dead or something, finding out they're alive but not giving two shits about me hurts way more than I can admit,” I grumbled but before she could give me a response, I heard a door open and the queen walked into the corridor, her face showing how much she'd rather be asleep than dealing with a petulant child, i.e. me.
“What is the meaning of this? Can't we get a minute of rest from you?” She snapped at me.
But I wasn't going to back down in shock like I had earlier.
No, this time around, they were going to hear what I had to say and if they were intentional about their peace of mind, they'll do exactly what I want them to.
