The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 178: CHAPTER HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-EIGHT
“Okay, you look panicked, what's wrong?”
“Uhm, Lyra is having a bit of a difficulty with her pregnancy,” she whispered.
“Pregnancy? How – OH – I totally forgot our body was linked in that way. Shit, what's wrong with me?”
“You're dissipating from this realm so,”
“Wait here, let me get my phone. I think we need to get real help, most of these dragon kin won't even talk to me,”
“Yea, they see you as a traitor. Took their kingdom and gave it to werewolves,”
“I went to Arkonos and they nearly killed me. That's guilty conscience speaking,” I replied as I teleported to our, got the phone and zapped back to Elena.
Immediately, I called Kane.
“It's 11PM in the night, are you sure he's gonna pick up?” Elena asked worriedly just as he picked up the phone.
“Aurora? Baby how are you?” He slurred, his voice dripping with intoxication.
“Hey Kane, I'm great. Look, are my parents still in your pack?”
“Those demanding assholes? Sure. You really hit the jackpot with great parents. If I wasn't filthy rich, they'd have driven me to poverty by now,” he grumbled in annoyance.
“Oh, I'm sorry about that. Can you send them over to me? It's kind of urgent. My dragon is pregnant and sick. Terrible combination,”
“Oh they'll be shipped to you, first thing tomorrow morning,”
“Oh, thank you so much. Say hello and sorry to Cora for me,”
“You can come and say that yourself , you know. She was pissed when she got back,”
“Well, I couldn't help it. She was defending your wrongs with such impunity and I couldn't stand it. I get that you're here brother but I have feelings too,”
“Damn, did I hurt you that much?”
“Would you be over the moon if something happened to our bond and I was fucking someone few hours later?”
“No, I'll definitely kill whoever the bastard is,”
“Point is, you made your choices and I won't be bullied into bearing the consequences for you,” I snapped, my voice angrier than I'd meant for it to be.
“You're no longer the shy, timid girl I used to know. I love that,”
“Thank you. I'll call you tomorrow to make sure they're on their way here,” I said before cutting the phone.
“Does that mean you're not leaving tonight anymore?”
“Oh I can't, this is something serious,” I replied as we walked into the dragon pit.
I'd had some people make it a big bigger since we got back so we could freely walk through the open field without waking any dragon up; which wasn't necessary anyway because Lyra’s groans of pain was doin a good job of keeping them awake
“Wait, if it's this bad, why isn't anybody doing anything about it?” I shouted as I ran to her, my heart in my throat.
“There's been some type of, um, anger from them against you so,”
“I know I haven't had the chance to see them and that might be infuriating but I'm going through so much at once! What do they stand to gain by letting her suffer this way?”
“Revenge,” I heard and turned around to someone I'd thought I'd never see again.
Talon
My memory was still missing a lot of information but he was my prime suspect when blood poachers had tried to kidnap me in Arkonos. Him and Tacha who wanted him despite his obvious interest in me.
“For what on earth?” I exclaimed in confusion.
“You don't know?” He asked, exasperatedly, “you came back to Arkonos, half dead, we revive you and at the first sign of trouble, you run! And all for what? To help this stupid realm gain back power that they had no business having in the first place!”
I shivered at the sound of Lyra’s groans of pain that echoed around the pit.
“Mama, are you okay?” Ares asked in my mind, I guess he senses my emotions.
“Yes baby. I'll be back soon, okay?”
I closed the link and walked closer to the tall, blonde haired man that was saying something I still didn't understand.
“Talon, help me to understand you, okay?” I said calmly, “first of all, I came back from an exile your King and Queen sent me on as a child! I suffered for twenty one years of my life just because my twin brother died in the womb. I lived, not knowing my true heritage or any idea why I was getting beaten up for every damn thing and then, these men that you hate so much saved me from those assholes and put me on the path to fulfill my destiny. When I came, no one welcomed Aurora, you all cheered for a princess that was meant to give you the entire world at the expense of everyone else. In fact, from your little speech there, you wanted the demon to destroy this world, and then you'll come and destroy said demon and rule the world, right?” I looked at the crowd that had gathered as I spoke. “Answer me!” I screamed in anger, lightning pouring out from my fingers.
“Aurora, please calm down,” Elena whispered near me but I was beyond livid.
“Calm down? They're watching Lyra as she's in pain just because I didn't give them the chance to commit mass genocide! And they want to be in charge of the world with that mentality? What's to say it's not one of them that poisoned her?!” I screamed in at them in an accusatory tone and people began to murmur in the crowd.
Then someone stepped out from the crowd. I didn't even recognize the face.
“You're a full goddess now so maybe you can create another world for us where we won't lose our strength or something,” she said, her eyes on the ground and her voice barely audible.
“That's what it'll take for you guys to help Lyra? You want to be isolated again?”
“Look, these people are always going to feel weird around us. Even here, after this war, they still treat us like we're a problem just because we're inherently stronger. And that is a recipe for disaster,”
I sighed in frustration, my back hurting from all the anger in my body.
“Instead of coming to me with this suggestion, you decided to hurt my dragon. Whatever you need will be done once you produce who is responsible for this. Meanwhile, get me a healer,” I commanded as I turned away from them, a sick feeling crawling up my throat.
I couldn't believe I was once a part of people with such hatred in their souls.
I got to Lyra and placed my hand on her rough scales, our bond sizzling in excitement at the proximity.
“I'm sorry girl. I've disappointed you so much,” I whispe
red in her mind, guilt filling me. “You'll be fine soon and nothing is gonna happen to our baby,”
