The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 189: CHAPTER HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-NINE

Everything passed by in a blur, I barely paid attention to it all because it felt like someone had stuck their hands into my heart and was trying to pull it out.

“Are you alright?” Axel asked me for the umpteenth time.

“I'm fine dear, focus,” I replied with a forced laugh.

I didn't want anything to go wrong on my account so I endured the pain through all of the reading of new laws and the way the government was going to be run.

It was a lengthy six hours later that the crown was placed on our heads and the dreadful thing was over.

Amidst the shouts and waving, it felt as though something was happening to my child and that was when I knew I needed to leave immediately.

“Axel?”

“Yes my love,”

“What's next after this?”

“The after-party. It's going to be amazing, someone even made a statue of you,”

He was really excited about that?

Well the damn statue is gonna have to represent me because I needed to leave here pronto before something happens to my child.

“Okay, but I need to get back home,” I said carefully, trying not to alarm him but it did the opposite.

He was pissed.

“Home? You've already chosen there as your home?” He switched to the mindlink as people were beginning to look at us and Ares even turned from the people he was attending to in confusion. “What about us?” Axel continued, his tone hurt.

“I'm not abandoning you guys, don't sound like that,”

“Is it because of the Zeus guy? Didn't you say you'll be there in a few days time?”

“Yes but you know I'll have to rest up a bit from all the energy I'd lost here so I have to be on my way,”

He became extremely sad and upset.

“I thought this was going to be easy but with the way it's going, you're definitely going to forget us in no time,” he grumbled.

That was a low blow considering he knew about my missing memories which got worse as I stayed here.

“You're overthinking this baby. Trust me, everything is going to be fine, this is just coronation week stress. I need to go find the girls and get going, okay?” I kissed him even though he wasn't responsive and then informed Ares.

“But it's not over yet, you promised you'd be here for this,” he said, hurt as well.

Their words were making me feel like I preferred Limbo to being with them but I didn't want them to know being here drained me more than they already knew.

If I stayed here one more hour, I'd drop on the ground.

“It's going to get better soon, I promise,” I hugged him tightly. “You'll come see me soon?”

He sighed and held me close even though the entire kingdom could see us.

“Yes I will, we've designed a system that'll allow each of us to spend quality time with you on the other side while one person stays here to look after things so immediately this ends, I'll be right there with you.”

I kissed him goodbye and went with Axel who still had a grumpy face.

“Come on baby, it's not my fault!” I whined, trying to coarse a smile out of him.

“I know but I had planned an evening for just the three of us after the evening soiree and you won't even get to see it,”

“I'm so sorry. I know it would have been amazing. I promise we'll have great experiences when you come,”

“Aurora! I mean, your highness, pardon my tardiness,”

“Don't be ridiculous Elena, come here,”

She hugged me ridiculously tight and I knew she sensed that this might be the last time she'll see me for a while.

I needed to soak up enough energy for years before I'd be able to come to earth again and that wasn't going to be easy considering what my job entailed.

I hugged her tightly too, even though the pain chose that moment to strike harder.

I winced but kept the smile on my face as we walked towards the dragons.

My parents were there and I realized I'd not seen their dragons since Arkonos.

Viscera, my father's huge dragon couldn't fit into any pit at NightShade so he was left back in DarkMoon so I was happy that they included the large dragon pit in the capital for them whenever they chose to visit.

“My daughter, I'm so proud of you,” my father gushed at the sight of me. “You're the queen of the entire supernatural kingdom and I hear none of this would have been possible without you,”

“I can't wait to meet our grandchild. You've really made us proud,” my mother added and their words made me feel weird.

Or maybe it was the earth sucking on my essence but I felt like they were only proud of me when I'd accomplished the biggest feat ever.

Parents weren't supposed to be like that but I ignored my feelings and hugged them close.

I saw Zelda running from the palace down the path to the pit.

“Elena, please help her,” I begged with a smile.

The distance was quickly covered as she teleported her over.

“You need to leave, now!” She said the moment she caught her breath, panic in her tone.

“Leave? To where?” My father asked in confusion.

“She just got here from god knows where and you're already sending her away?”

Oh, I guess I forgot to tell them about the current situation.

“Axel, please help me clear my parents' confusion. I've got to go say goodbye to Scarlett,” I said, leaving them confused.

I had forgiven them but I don't think our relationship would ever be repaired considering the circumstances so it was best to focus on what was more important; leaving this plane as soon as possible.

“Scar,” I rose up to hug her neck, shedding the first tears since I'd gotten here.

Our history was one that was difficult at the beginning but I'd grown to love and cherish her, our bond strong.

It hurt that I'd not be able to see her for years to come.

“I'll miss you too little one,” she said in my mind with her voice thick with emotions. “Make sure you look after this little puppy.”

“I'm literally your twin,” Lyra laughed at her jab and I shook my head.

I said goodbye to everyone and climbed up on Lyra.

The kingdom will be informed of my journey to the dragon kingdom as it was my birthright to rule it.

The dragons knew why I couldn't physically be with them but I will have to rule through Lyra.

It was a good arrangement and no one would feel left out of the great leadership they were promised.

I saw Ares come out of the mansion as Lyra began flying over them.

“I love you Mama,” he said in my mind with a smile on his face.

“I love you too my king,”

With that, I waved to everyone as we flew o

ver into Limbo.

Thankfully I'd gotten back to safe grounds before I lost all energy in me and collapsed on the back of my dragon.
