The Tripartite Mate Bond Chapter 182: CHAPTER HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-TWO

The air around the pack was frigid as I teleported to the pack entrance.

The car that brought them was an Audi and I raised my eyebrows at the show of affluence.

I gave them a small smile and nodded as they were driven into the pack.

“Thank you Gerald,” I said to the warrior that informed me about them and teleported back to the pack.

I didn't think about it the fact that they weren't aware of my new abilities so when they came out of the car and I was already there, the shock on their faces were apparent.

“How did you…” my mother began, unable to reconcile the speed at which I'd gotten to the car pack so fast.

“Long story. Come let me show you to your room,” I said and took them into the penthouse of the pack house where the dragon kin were staying.

We'd stopped on the way for the people who were in the building to pay their respects and all of that before taking them into the elevator.

“This is nice,” My father commented as I opened the door wider for the omegas to bring in their things into the room.

“Yea, unlike the hut that other mate of yours put us in,”

“He's no longer my mate,” I grumbled in annoyance as I opened the blinds and did as much as I could to make the house more convenient for them

“Oh,” she said and it was like they were different people completely. Her red hair was not as shiny and his wrinkles was more defined.

They looked tired.

“I've had the kitchen whip you up something for breakfast, if you need anything, just give me a call or tell Lyra to call my attention,” I informed them, heading to the door to leave.

For some reason, I felt really uncomfortable with the walking on eggshells thing we were doing.

Deep down, I was relieved this wasn't a hostile situation like the last time where they put me on house arrest after telling me how worthless they thought I was but it didn't mean that this particular experience was amazing.

I opened the door to leave.

“Wait,” my mother called to me and I paused and turned around to look at her. “We um, we wanted to apologize for how we treated you the last time,”

“Your entire life honestly. With everything happening and your role in it, it was first of all obvious that we'd misjudged you and I can't even use the grief as an excuse,” my father added.

“Yea, we're just plain horrible people and horrible parents filled with rage from a time that had long passed. The supernaturals we were upset with are already dead so craving revenge against their offspring was just harsh and it gave an opening for us to hate our child too,”

I looked at them, mouth agape. Their words were real and heartfelt but my heart wasn't just receiving it. It all seemed too much and I couldn't begin to fathom what I was feeling but gradually, I felt anger overtaking everything else.

“You're sorry?” I snapped and their little nods added more fuel to the already flaring inferno. “You threw me away to strangers as a little baby, you turned a blind eye to my existence as those bastards took away my powers and beat me to shit five out of seven days in a week and you're here saying you're sorry?” I was livid and their shocked expressions weren't helping matters.

“Look, we know we might have gone too far–”

“Might?!” I screamed in their faces, “I came out of that hellhole by the help of random strangers, and the first time you laid eyes on me, all you saw was what I could do for you and your failing kingdom. You used me to twist lies about some stupid prophecy so they don't riot against you and when they did, you were no where to be found, leaving me again in the hands of people that'll hurt me. And all of a sudden, I defeat the biggest threat this world has seen in centuries and I become a goddess in the process and you suddenly are sorry?”

I suddenly felt a surge of relief that I didn't crave their approval anymore. I didn't care what they thought or how they thought it. I was just done and the peace I felt in that moment was satisfying.

“But what do you want us to do? We've realized our mistakes and are trying to make amends,” my mother rebutted, the famous Arkonos temper coming to play.

“Of course you're sorry, I came out on top. But would you have been sorry if I'd become what Kane wanted? A tired, sad, angry woman who was used for just what a man wanted? No life, no abilities and no friends? I came out on top and now you're suddenly sorry. I'm sure you can see why I have a problem with this. It's all so fishy, I mean what if all of these comes crashing down?”

“Aurora look,’ my father began as he took my hands, “like your mother said, we've already gone too far. We've abandoned you, neglected you, hurt you emotionally and verbally and we're really shitty parents but we're deeply sorry. Look, just give us a little time to make up for all our fuck ups,”

“That's one thing I don't have; time,”

“What do you mean? Your life literally just started,” my mother said in disbelief.

I sighed, furrowing my brows in frustration.

I went into details of how we got here. Mother was in tears, her interruptions of the entire story consistent in how she finds it hard to believe some of the things I was talking about.

“So you must leave tonight?”

“Unfailingly, yes,”

I saw tears in her eyes and my stone wall broke into. I felt the urge to hug her but I was scared of it becoming awkward so I stood where I was and looked out of the window.

“So I have to go get ready, my mates are taking me out to dinner tonight. Relax and enjoy your stay, the clan will give you guys more details of the upcoming events so you can see what we planned for Arkonos,”

“That will be fine,” my father said as he sat down, a tired look in his face.

“Alright, I have to go get ready for my last day as a Luna and hopefully my mates are back very soon so you can get to meet them,” I said as I went back to the door. “I hope I get to forgive you guys someday but that day's not today. I've finally gotten used to the idea for not having any parents in my life as kw you're suddenly acting right. It's a lot to take in,”

“It's absolutely fine. It's been twenty two years of you struggling against a world that you shouldn't have struggled against. We'll spend the rest of our life begging for your forgiveness even when you're not physically with us,” my mother said and I nodded before leaving the room.

My heart was still heavy but it wasn't that bad anymore.

There was hope on the horizon.
