Molly's smile stayed charming, her tone casual. "Relax, I didn't tell her you're married. As far as she's concerned, you're still single."

From the beginning, Molly never planned on marrying Arthur.

She knew her place. Someone like her shouldn't aim for an equal marriage.

Besides, she saw right through him.

He was dangerous, selfish, and ruthless.

He clearly had another woman in his heart, yet he still kept her around.

His motivation for such actions was entirely rooted in the fact that he could not have Xavia, and her appearance bore a striking resemblance to Xavia's.

So when he was with her, when he truly possessed her, it was like he had Xavia.

She understood all of this.

If it weren't for Harper, Molly would never have gotten involved with a man like him.

Sure enough, when Xavia was mentioned, his eyes turned cold.

He stepped forward, gripping her chin, his tone icy. "Are you comparing yourself to her? Molly, do you think you measure up?"

She laughed.

Apart from Harper, she didn't care about anyone else.

But speaking of Xavia, she was indeed exceptional.

She was a wealthy heiress, born into a noble family, and she had a gentle personality without the arrogance typical of heiresses.

Molly looked up, her tone gentle. "You're right! I know who I am. Of course, I can't compare to Ms. Williams. I'm just her substitute, aren't I?"

He could hear the sarcasm in her voice.

She said it on purpose, to provoke him.

"Molly, don't play games with me."

He leaned in, grabbing her hair and pulling her close, his tone dangerous and threatening.

After five years together, he knew Molly well. She was smart, cunning, and vengeful.

She was the type to repay an eye for an eye. 

Molly felt the pain from his grip, her scalp stinging, but she didn't make a sound, still smiling.

Molly said, "Mr. Davis, be gentle."

"Gentle? You always liked it rough. I can be rougher."

Molly gazed up at him with deep affection. "Mr. Davis, what do you want? Tell me who you want me to be, and I can be her. Treat me like her; do whatever you want."

The balcony door was locked; no one would disturb them.

Arthur's eyes were cold as he pressed Molly onto the sofa.

Her lips were sealed, and she clung tightly to Arthur.

After what felt like an eternity, he finally finished, and they hurriedly left through another door.

Back at Arthur's villa, they fell asleep in each other's arms.

Once Arthur was asleep, Molly didn't rest in his embrace.

She lay awake, her eyes sharp as she studied Arthur's handsome face, gently caressing his cheek.

"Arthur, you'd better not betray me, or I'll drag you and Xavia to hell with me."

She may not love Arthur, but she wouldn't tolerate betrayal.

Before marriage, she could be his plaything, but now that they were married, Arthur and Xavia better not cross the line.

They had agreed to be physically faithful to each other, regardless of whom their hearts might harbor.

He couldn't have a mistress; that was her bottom line.

Back at the party, Harper found herself stuck in a corner.

Molly's voice gradually faded into the background.

Harper was lost in thought.

Suddenly, Caden leaned down and kissed her.

She didn't have time to dodge, her head pressed against the wall, his lips forcefully on hers.

Harper was startled by his sudden move, instinctively trying to push him away, but he held her tighter.

His domineering, intense kiss made her body go weak, her resistance fading.

Gradually, he kissed from her lips to her earlobe, then down to her collarbone.

Harper struggled. "Caden!"

"Be quiet; don't let anyone hear."

Caden stayed still, his mouth gently brushing her skin.

Just then, someone approached.

Caden reluctantly let her go, sighing deeply. This wasn't the best place for intimacy.

"Do you want to leave?"

Caden's eyes burned as he looked at her.

Before she could answer, Caden had already jumped over the railing to the grass outside.

The banquet hall was on the ground floor, so it wasn't hard to get over.

"I'll carry you." He didn't give her a choice.

Harper looked down, took his outstretched hand, and held on tight.

With a light push, he lifted her over the railing into his arms.

Before she could react, Caden's passionate kiss fell again.

She could feel his strong desire surging.

Harper buried her head in his chest, her voice soft. "Stop it!"

"Harper." He murmured, his kisses falling like raindrops.

Suddenly, his hand touched her lower abdomen.

Harper's body trembled slightly.

Regaining her senses, she pushed Caden away, stopping him.

A sense of melancholy washed over her.

She slowly placed her hand on her lower abdomen, her voice soft. "I've been through a terrible marriage. I want to start a new life, but you know, I'm carrying his child. It will always remind me of Alex."

Her expression was bitter. "Caden, I thought I wouldn't care, but now I do."

Harper didn't look at him, closing her eyes, her voice barely a whisper.

"Caden, do you really want to be with me? Are you sure you won't regret it? You know this child is Alex's. Every time you see him, you'll think of Alex and my past marriage. So, Caden, think it over."

At this point, she was scared.

She was afraid to move forward, afraid he would regret it, afraid they wouldn't be happy together.

In other matters, she was confident and composed, always finding a solution. But in matters of the heart, she was never sure.

In matters of the heart, her efforts alone could not guarantee a perfect outcome.

Like her marriage to Alex. She thought she did well, believed her efforts would keep them together forever, but she was wrong, losing completely.

She didn't dare hope for another relationship.

Her first marriage failed, and now she had an unborn child. How far could they go?

Caden remained silent, and Harper didn't open her eyes.

The surroundings were quiet; even the music from the hall seemed to fade away.
