No Wife, No Life Chapter 215
Mason was floored, completely lost about what Caden was getting at.
"Why do you think Harper needs help?"
"Have you ever thought that maybe Harper is the one pulling the strings here?"
"Mason, I know Harper. She's got a plan. If I jump in without thinking, I'll just mess it all up."
Mason finally got it, leaving him at a loss for words.
What could he even say? Caden really got her, while he was in the dark.
Just then, Harper walked over.
She gave Mason a quick glance and nodded. "You should head home early."
Then she moved to Caden's side, pushing his wheelchair as they left.
Mason sat on the cold ground, watching them walk away, feeling a deep sadness.
They looked so perfect together. The way Harper looked at Caden was full of affection.
When she gazed upon Mason, her smile was merely a gesture of courtesy, but upon setting her eyes on Caden, her gaze illuminated with a brilliance akin to a celestial tapestry adorned with myriad stars.
She truly loved Caden. And Caden understood Harper, willing to give up everything for her. That was why they were the perfect match.
Watching them disappear into the distance, Mason pulled out his phone and made a call.
"Dad, I've completely lost."
On the other end, Kyle was silent for a moment, then let out a long sigh.
Mason then added, "I finally get what Harper was saying. I'm supposed to be the heir to the Cruz family, but I can't handle the responsibility."
He paused, his voice heavy with bitterness. "Someone like me, I can't even hold on to the person I care about. Dad, I want to take over the Cruz Group then."
With that, Mason hung up.
He had believed he could do it, just as Harper had expected.
When he reached that level, he would stand on equal footing with Harper and tell her that he could do it too.
But Harper knew nothing of his thoughts.
Caden's assistant chauffeured Caden and Harper back to their apartment building. After dropping them off, the assistant departed, and Caden and Harper proceeded towards their abode.
Upon reaching their quarters, Harper gracefully inclined, enveloping Caden's neck with her arms, bestowing upon him a radiant smile."Why couldn't you trust me? You even followed me there." Harper teased.
Caden replied calmly, "Photos of you and Mason together were taken." He was just reminding her.
Harper smiled lightly. "It doesn't matter. I don't even need to think to know who did it. They'll keep stirring things up, saying I betrayed you and chose the Cruz family."
Her eyes sparkled as she looked at him. "They must pity you, our Mr. Elikin, being abandoned by a woman like me."
"Mr. Elikin, do you think I abandoned you?"
Harper leaned closer, her warm breath on his face, making him shiver slightly.
Her lips met his, their tongues entwining, before she pulled away.
Harper said, "I didn't abandon you. We're kissing, aren't we?"
With that, her lips found his again, kissing him deeply, as if to mark him with her presence.
Suddenly, she felt a change in his body.
She chuckled softly, whispering in his ear, "Do you really not want to, or are you just afraid?"
Her suggestive tone was clear to Caden.
For a moment, he was confused about why Harper would bring this up now.
"Harper, stop it." He sounded a bit helpless. "Things are so crazy out there; I'm really not in the mood for this."
"Isn't this better? Let everyone see that I'm with you, doing things that can't be described." She was teasing him.
Before he could respond, Harper continued to press against him.
They had known each other for so long, had hugged and kissed, but had never gone further.
At first, Harper was pregnant, so they couldn't have sex. Then, after her miscarriage, they still couldn't. Finally, Caden had his accident.
Since the accident, they rarely slept in the same room. Caden always slept alone, unable to accept his broken body.
"Harper, stop it." Caden turned his head, avoiding her intense gaze.
"Why do you think I'm joking? I'm serious." She said firmly.
"With someone like you, no matter how many times I kiss you, I won't be satisfied. It will take making love once for me to feel at ease."
Caden was speechless, not knowing how to respond.
Harper hooked her fingers into his collar, her tone playful. "Caden, do you want to be mine?"
Was she asking to have sex? Caden's throat tightened slightly.
"Are you going to say I'm joking again? Caden, I'm not joking. I want to be with you for real."
Caden began to understand her meaning.
Harper knew him too well.
Without taking that step, Caden always felt she was free to leave.
Now, Harper wanted to give him assurance and make him feel secure.
"Harper, you don't have to go that far."
Harper asked, "Don't say that. Just answer me, do you want to be mine?"
"Harper, are you serious?"
"What do you think? Isn't my love for you serious enough? If I didn't love you, why would I take over FusionX Company, facing all the targeting and schemes? Who do you think I did it for?"
Harper placed his hand on her chest, letting him feel her heartbeat. "Can't you feel my love for you?"
Caden said, "I can feel it."
"Then what's your answer? Do you want to be mine?"
This was the third time she asked.
Before he could answer, Harper wrapped her arms around his neck and straddled his lap.
She could feel his rapid breathing, like a beast held back for too long.
Everything that followed was smooth, as if they had waited forever. Harper took the lead, moving rhythmically, each time deeper than the last.
With her actions, she told him,' Caden, I am yours, only yours!' After an extended interlude, with a tremor of electric sensation, Harper succumbed against him, her form glistening with perspiration.
"You did well." Caden's voice was hoarse, filled with lazy satisfaction.
Harper rested her chin on his shoulder, her breathing unsteady, her body limp.
Just when she thought it was over, Caden suddenly held her tightly.
She heard him whisper in her ear, "Now, it's my turn."Harper was stunned. Wasn't it over?
In a panic, Harper tried to escape, but Caden held her firmly.
The night was wild. He was like a beast finally unleashed, marking her with his bites.
He even asked her with a smile if she could take it.
Her body was weak, and she said she couldn't.
But Caden just laughed, saying, "You started this, so I'll decide when it ends."
