Harper had just stepped out of her lab when she saw the news. Her assistant hurried over, handing her a stack of organized documents about it.

Harper felt a chill run through her body.

She finally understood what Quinn had meant with his cryptic words earlier.

Quinn had mentioned being betrayed by a subordinate, referring to Neal at the time, but it was clear now that he had been setting up Travis all along.

"It has to be Quinn's doing," Harper said, unable to hide the coldness in her eyes. "He's trying to force me to submit."

Quinn had intended to trap her during their last meeting, but Neal's betrayal had thrown his plans into disarray, preventing him from controlling Harper.

Now, with FusionX Company surpassing the Lavien Group thanks to its advanced AI systems, Quinn couldn't sit back anymore. 

He had deliberately leaked this news to see Harper's reaction and remind her that it wasn't too late to return to the Lavien Group.

He knew about Harper and Travis's bond and was aware that Harper wouldn't ignore Travis's predicament.

Suppressing her anger, Harper said calmly, "I need to go to the Lavien Group and meet with them."Caden, being a smart man, knew better than to get involved in this mess. Alex was already under a lot of stress, and seeing Caden might only make things worse for Travis.

Harper going to the Lavien Group herself was the best course of action.

"Call me if you need anything," Caden said.

Harper nodded slightly before leaving.

She first went to the police station, leveraging her connection with Stephen to get some inside information.

The charges against Travis were severe—stealing company secrets and embezzling funds, with the amount involved reaching hundreds of millions of dollars.

Thanks to Stephen's arrangements, Harper was allowed to meet Travis under police supervision for no more than thirty minutes.

In the interrogation room, Harper saw Travis.

He looked utterly worn out, a far cry from the confident executive he once was. He seemed to have aged ten years overnight, his beard unkempt.

Seeing Harper, Travis froze and turned around, not wanting her to see him in such a state.

"Travis, I need to know the truth," Harper said, feeling a pang of sadness at his condition. She had known the Lavien Group wasn't a good fit for him and had tried to find him a way out, but she had underestimated Quinn's ruthlessness.

Both she and Travis were privy to numerous secrets of the Lavien Group. Harper had managed to leave unscathed due to Alex's sense of guilt towards her, yet they had no qualms about inflicting pain upon Travis.

Looking at Harper, Travis's voice was hoarse and defeated. "Just leave it be."

Exhausted, he was aware of the orchestrator behind his predicament and anticipated Harper's intervention. However, he was reluctant to see Harper entangled in a confrontation with Alex and Quinn, unwilling to let her bear the consequences.

"I suggested you leave the Lavien Group. If it weren't for me, you'd still be safe there. This is my fault, and I have to help you," Harper said firmly, guessing his thoughts.

Travis's smile was strained. "Even without you, I wouldn't have lasted long at the Lavien Group. They would have stopped trusting me eventually."

He paused before continuing, "Quinn is capable of this."

Quinn was indeed capable of such things. Harper was silent for a moment. "Does Alex know about this?"

Travis didn't answer, just gave a self-mocking smile.

Harper felt foolish for asking such a naive question. Of course, Alex knew. He could have stopped it but didn't.

"I said I'll help you," Harper insisted. "You did nothing wrong. They were clearly at fault. I'll fix this. FusionX Company and HoloSphere Technologies are waiting for you since I need you to help me run the company."

Travis felt a warmth in his heart, his gaze softening. His throat tightened, and he managed a stiff smile. "Alright, I'll wait."

After reassuring Travis, Harper headed straight to the Lavien Group Building.

The place had changed since she last saw it. Employees whispered as she walked by, speculating about her visit.

Once, they greeted her warmly, as she had brought honor and profit to the Lavien Group. Now, they saw her as a traitor who had taken what rightfully belonged them.

Emily, noticing Harper from a distance, watched her with cold eyes from a corner.

Harper noticed Emily's badge—Head of Logistics. She frowned, her expression darkening. Emily was thoroughly undeserving of the position as Logistics Department Head.

Emily approached in her high heels, with employees watching the scene unfold.

"You dare show your face here? Don't you know why the Lavien Group is struggling?" Emily accused.

Before Harper could respond, the HR manager walked over, glaring at Emily. "Isn't it because of you? You seduced Mr. Lavien, destroyed their family and forced them to divorce. That's why Ms. Harper left the Lavien Group."

The HR manager was relentless. "If it weren't for you, Ms. Harper Orsini would still be here, attending financial summits and securing contracts for the Lavien Group. This is all your fault."
