Harper had a busy morning. After she had a quick bite, Cecilia showed up right on the dot at 3 PM.

Cecilia was in her forties, but she still had that glow and a figure that turned heads.

Harper invited her to take a seat on the couch and handed her a cup of coffee.

Cecilia gave Harper a once-over before saying, "I held you when you were a baby."

Harper didn't remember her at all.

What Harper did know was that Cecilia had been one of Brad's many flings back in the day. Cecilia, a young woman from the White family, was quite the talk of their social circle.

Brad had chased her hard, drowning her in flowers, gifts, and fancy dates. Young and naive, Cecilia fell for Brad's charm and wit.

Little did she know, Brad had a whole lineup of lovers, and she was just another name on the list.

Eventually, Brad pulled some shady moves to take over the White Company, leading to a car accident that killed her parents. Friends of her parents helped Cecilia, and she later started her own company.

She held a deep grudge against Brad.

"You're his daughter. Why would you help me?" Cecilia's biggest question hung in the air.

Harper gave a faint smile, her eyes full of sarcasm.

"Because we share the same blood?"

Harper saw right through her doubts.

Cecilia stayed quiet, but it was clear that's what she meant.

"Ms. White, what does a blood bond mean to you? Does it automatically mean feelings are involved? In our society, it happened a lot that illegitimate kids get inheritance rights. Some people even leave everything to folks who aren't related. Is that because of blood? I think it's more about feelings."

She paused, took a sip of coffee, and continued, "For example, people who grow up together without a blood bond often develop familial feelings. But those with a blood bond who turn on each other, how can there be any familial love?"

She sighed softly, "I know the difference between love and hate. I don't repay kindness with enmity, nor do I repay enmity with kindness. My goals are always clear. Does that make sense, Ms. White?"

Cecilia studied Harper. Despite being in her twenties, Harper was stunning, with bright, clear eyes. She looked so pure and lovely, yet her words were so insightful and sharp, even more so than Cecilia's.

"I just want to sell my shares. Besides, Ms. White, haven't you been buying up Orsini Group shares at a low price?" Harper stated confidently.

Cecilia smiled, "You are different from your childhood."

"So, what do you think, Ms. White?"

"I can buy your shares for twenty million dollars above market price."

Harper smiled again, calmly saying, "That's not necessary. Consider the twenty million dollars a gesture of friendship."

Cecilia's lips curled into a smile as well.

"Alright. We can sign the transfer agreement now."

But Harper's eyes flashed with determination.

"Now isn't the best time."

Cecilia was taken aback.

"I think tomorrow, during the Orsini Group's executive meeting, would be more dramatic, don't you think?"

Her words were subtle, but Cecilia got the message right away.

She wanted Brad to witness his own downfall, making the impact even more satisfying.

Just changing the timing of the share transfer would make the whole thing way more intense.

Harper was a genius!

They wrapped up the agreement, and Cecilia left.

The next day.

At 9 AM, Brad kicked off the company's executive meeting as usual, announcing Emily as the new general manager.

As the chairman with 35% of the company's shares, no one dared to object.

Right then, Cecilia and Harper walked in.

Brad was caught off guard, not sure what they were up to.

Cecilia slapped the share transfer agreement on the table, demanding he step down as chairman.

"Mr. Orsini, looks like I'll be running the show from now on."

Brad was both shocked and furious. "On what grounds?"

Cecilia smiled, addressing the executives, "I've already bought 15% of the company's shares. With the 25% I just got, I now hold 40%. So, on what grounds, you ask?"

Brad glared at Harper, trembling. "You, you..."

Before he could finish, he collapsed.

"Dad, Dad!"

Emily screamed, jumping from her seat.

Cecilia glanced at him coldly, instructing her assistant, "Take Mr. Orsini to the hospital. The meeting will continue as planned."

The assistant complied, and Brad was carried out.

The room was in shock.

Harper remained calm, turning to leave.

She had waited years for this day. Finally, she could breathe a sigh of relief.

The company her mother had built was now in her hands. With her mother long gone and her own company, HoloSphere Technologies, thriving, there was no need to hold onto it. Besides, Brad would never have given it to her willingly. Better to hand it to Cecilia.

Emily was furious. She had just convinced Brad to make her the general manager, giving her a foothold in the company. But no sooner had Brad announced her position than he was ousted, all because of Harper.

Harper was infuriating.

She realized the only person who could save her father now was Alex.

With the resources of the Lavien Group, Alex could easily ensure Brad remained chairman.

Saving Brad meant saving herself.

She rushed to the Lavien Group Building, bursting into Alex's office, tears streaming down her face.

"Alex, you have to help my dad."

She clung to Alex's arm, sobbing uncontrollably.

"How could Harper do this? She's part of the Orsini family. How could she do this to Dad? She's evil."

Alex frowned, a hint of impatience in his eyes.

Harper had already told him about the Orsini Group situation, and he had agreed to help her. He couldn't go back on his word now.

"I don't have anyone else but you, Alex. You have to help me."

Harper had many men supporting her, but Emily only had Alex.

Alex felt a surge of irritation, coldly saying, "I know about this. Harper just sold her own shares, which is totally fine. As for Brad..."

His eyes flashed with coldness. "Compared to what he's done, this punishment is light."

Brad had hired thugs to assault Harper. He deserved far worse.
