No Wife, No Life Chapter 320
A van screeched to a halt in front of Xavia.
Her eyes widened in shock, and before she could react, a few bodyguards grabbed her and shoved her into the vehicle.
Throughout the ride, her eyes were covered, making it impossible to see her surroundings, let alone attempt an escape.
All she could hear was the pounding of her own heart and her trembling voice.
"What do you want from me? I'm warning you, I'm with Arthur from the Davis Group. If you touch me, Arthur won't let you get away with it!"
At this moment, Arthur was the only name she could think of to call for help.
Even though she knew deep down that Arthur wouldn't stand up for her, just saying his name gave her a small sense of security.
She regretted it deeply.
She should never have left Arthur. If she hadn't, she wouldn't be in this mess now.
Xavia seethed with resentment.
After what felt like an eternity, the van came to a sudden stop. The bodyguards dragged her out and tossed her onto the ground like she was trash.
Her arm scraped against the gravel, leaving several bloody scratches.
She cried out in pain but quickly pulled off the blindfold, ignoring the throbbing in her arm.
When she saw who was in front of her, her eyes widened in shock. "Arthur, why is it you?"
Shouldn't Harper have been the one to kidnap her?
On the way here, she had already planned how to confront Harper, even if it meant betraying Edwin. She had nothing left to lose.
But she never expected Arthur to be the one behind this.
Had he known her whereabouts all along and come to defend Molly?
Arthur sat in a chair, his expression cold, his eyes fixed on her with a chilling gaze. "Are you surprised, Xavia? Did you really think no one knew about your actions?"
Meeting Arthur's deep, piercing eyes, Xavia shivered in fear.
She gritted her teeth and crawled forward, grabbing onto Arthur's pant leg. "Arthur, I've been suffering so much in the mental hospital. I barely managed to escape. Please don't send me back, okay?"
Arthur looked down at her, his face emotionless. "You had your chances, Xavia. Pity that you never cherished them."
"No, Arthur, don't say that! We've known each other since we were kids. We have so many years of history. I'm begging you, just let me go this once. I'll do anything you want, just don't send me back to that place!" Xavia's voice was frantic, tears streaming down her face.
Every nerve in her body screamed with fear and panic.
Arthur didn't love her anymore, and she had no idea what he might do to her now.
But she couldn't go back to that place again.
It was dark and infested with rats, and the doctors injected her with all sorts of drugs. Even a sane person would go mad in there!
Xavia couldn't bear to think about it. She continued to plead, "Arthur, please, I promise I won't hurt Molly again. I won't even show up in front of you two. I'll leave the country and disappear forever. Just give me one more chance!"
Arthur frowned as he looked at her tear-filled eyes.
Did she really regret her actions? Could a person's nature change so quickly?
Arthur didn't believe it.
But considering their past, he felt he should give Xavia one last chance.
However, Xavia had tried to kill Molly.
He couldn't imagine what he would do if something happened to Molly.
Arthur closed his eyes, struggling internally.
Xavia watched him intently, her breath almost stopping, clinging to a last shred of hope.
But then she saw something that shattered that hope completely, leaving only despair. Her face turned pale.
She shrank back in fear, and Arthur, noticing her change in demeanor, turned to see Harper pushing Caden towards them.
Caden was undergoing rehabilitation and had regained some feeling in his legs, but he still couldn't stand for long and needed a wheelchair.
Once they stopped, Harper crossed her arms, her cold gaze sweeping over Xavia, a mocking smile on her lips. "Ms. Williams, you look like a dog right now. Do you really think begging Arthur will make everything go back to the way it was? You wanted Molly dead. Do you think I would ever let you off the hook?"
Harper's words cut into Xavia's heart like a knife.
Her heart pounded wildly, and the despair in her eyes grew.
She had indeed wanted Molly dead.
She had planned to kidnap Molly and torture her to death.
But who would have thought Harper had been watching her all along and captured her before she could act?
She was unwilling to accept this! But what could she do now? She was in Harper's hands.
She had to survive to plan her next move.
Xavia clenched her fists, forcing down her resentment and anger, and put on a submissive act. "Ms. Orsini, I truly know I was wrong. Please, let me go. I'll apologize to Molly and never bother her and Arthur again."
Arthur's expression darkened at her words.
Even if Xavia stopped bothering them, Molly would never come back.
Molly hated him and wanted nothing more than to stay away from him.
If he had seen Xavia's true nature earlier, things wouldn't have turned out this way.
Molly had every right to hate him.
Harper ignored Xavia's pleas and glanced at Arthur. "What are you going to do this time? If the outcome doesn't satisfy me, I'll handle it myself."
She always meant what she said.
She was asking Arthur to see where he stood.
If he hesitated like before, she would make sure Molly cut all ties with him.
Xavia was terrified, almost fainting.
If she ended up in Harper's hands, she would surely die.
She didn't want to die young, definitely not!
Xavia trembled, her teeth chattering.
She looked at Arthur with desperate eyes, clinging to her last hope.
"Arthur, I really know I was wrong. Can you give me one last chance? I'll pay for what I've done, but I don't want to die!" She begged desperately, but this time, Arthur's heart didn't waver.
He had let Xavia hurt Molly too many times. He wouldn't make the same mistake again.
