Xavia's face tightened with worry.

Molly took a step back, her long, beautiful legs barely visible under her short dress. If Xavia looked closely, she might have noticed the red marks on Molly's thighs.

Molly leaned back slightly, her hand resting on her lower back, looking tired. "Sorry, Ms. Williams. Arthur and I were busy with something, so it took me a while to get to the door."

She covered her mouth and giggled shyly, making Xavia want to scream.

Molly didn't seem to care about Xavia's reaction and led her into the hospital room, occasionally glancing at her. "Ms. Williams, you and Arthur have been close since childhood. How come you came empty-handed?"

Xavia felt a bit embarrassed.

Molly obviously knew why she was here. After what happened last night and Edwin being taken away by Gerald, Xavia was clearly here to plead for Edwin and check on Arthur's condition.

Xavia forced a smile. "Arthur and I don't concern ourselves with such formalities. With or without gifts, our relationship remains unparalleled in its closeness."

Molly nodded and climbed onto the bed, slipping her feet under the covers. Her feet were cold from walking around, so she placed them on Arthur's legs to warm up.

Arthur stiffened at the cold touch.

Molly snuggled under the covers, letting Arthur wrap an arm around her waist.

Xavia still maintained a smile.

But Molly continued, "I'm really sorry. I was so comfortable lying in bed, but Ms. Williams, your timing is a bit off. Now that you're here, I won't treat you as an outsider. I hope you don't mind if I stay in bed, right?"

She raised an eyebrow, her smile full of smugness.

Molly nestled in Arthur's arms, their fingers intertwined. "You and Arthur may be close, but even casual friends bring some fruit or gifts here. Ms. Williams, coming empty-handed makes it seem like you don't care about Arthur at all."

Xavia was fuming inside, wanting to pull Molly out of Arthur's arms and scream, "Arthur is mine!"

But she could only manage a dry response. "Of course, I care about Arthur. So I came to visit as soon as I had a moment."

Molly didn't give her a chance to explain further.

"Alright, alright. If you really cared about Arthur, you would have come to the hospital last night. Why wait until now? You're just here to see if he's awake and if he can help with Edwin's situation, right?"

Xavia was speechless.

All the plans she had made to act in front of Arthur and gain his sympathy were exposed by Molly. She stood there, stunned, before mechanically saying, "That's not true. I really just came to see Arthur."

Molly sneered.

Arthur's eyes darkened, his grip on Molly tightening as he scrutinized Xavia with a piercing gaze.

Every word from Xavia was countered by Molly, making her feel utterly humiliated.

When had she ever felt so awkward in front of Arthur? She was supposed to be the cherished one.

And it was all because of Molly.

Xavia's sharp nails dug into her shoulder bag, dislodging a few gold studs that fell to the floor. But she kept a gentle smile on her face.

"Molly, you should know that Arthur and I grew up together. Our relationship doesn't need an outsider like you meddling. If you had any sense, you should leave us some private space to have a talk."

Her words implied that Molly was just a plaything and had no right to interfere.

Molly laughed brightly.

She whispered something in Arthur's ear.

After a moment of silence, Arthur nodded.

Molly's smile widened. "An outsider? Ms. Williams, can't you see? Arthur and I have hugged, kissed, made love, and now we're in the same bed. Yet you still think I'm an outsider? Ms. Williams, has Arthur ever had other lovers and been intimate with anyone else? Why did he marry me, your so-called plaything?"

Xavia's heart filled with venom.

'Why? Because Arthur loves you? That's delusional!'

He married Molly because he needed her blood and her heart to save Xavia! Otherwise, why would Arthur keep someone like her around?

Xavia knew this well. Edwin had found out that Molly was the perfect match for her.

Xavia cursed internally, but outwardly she feigned confusion, looking at Molly as if she knew nothing.

Molly turned and kissed Arthur's chin. "Arthur and I sleep together. I'm not just a plaything; I'm his legal wife. Our relationship is protected by law."

Seeing Xavia's shocked expression, Molly's smile grew even more triumphant. "Simply put, I'm Arthur's wife, and he's my husband. Is that clear enough?"

Xavia trembled, as if wounded.

She knew Arthur kept Molly around but didn't know they were married.

She couldn't believe Arthur had married someone like Molly!

He was supposed to love her, Xavia. How could he marry another woman?

Xavia was stunned, at a loss for words.

Molly had whispered to Arthur, likely asking if she could reveal their relationship.

So Arthur agreed? He chose to tell her the truth?

Xavia was confused, doubting her judgment.

Did Arthur care about Molly? Was Molly really just a stand-in and a blood bank? If so, why did he grant Molly such a prestigious title?

Molly supposed to be a lowly blood bank; how could she become the wife of the Davis Group's president? That should have been her position. How could Molly take it?

Xavia's mind buzzed with panic and fear.

If Arthur truly liked and cared about Molly, could Molly still be her blood bank? Was her heart still hers? But Arthur had promised her a healthy body.

Was he not going to keep his promise?
