Noah stood at nearly 6'3", almost as tall as Caden, with striking features and an air of nobility that made him stand out. His deep-set eyes, however, carried a hint of danger.

Manuel, seated next to Harper, got straight to the point. "Mr. Noah Wright, why'd you invite us here?"

Noah first instructed the waiter to bring the food before answering nonchalantly, "Nothing much, I merely admire Ms. Orsini's distinguished reputation, and have come specifically today to make her acquaintance."

Harper quietly observed his behavior. He hadn't asked for her opinion and had already ordered the dishes, indicating he was a controlling person.

At that moment, Lucas abruptly spoke up, "Ms. Orsini, do you really plan to keep working at FusionX?"

Harper smiled calmly, "I think that's my business and has nothing to do with you, Mr. Lucas Wright."

Lucas smirked, "I just think it's a pity. Why would someone as beautiful and talented as you stay at FusionX? Is Caden really worth it? Besides..."

He looked at Harper with a mocking glint in his eyes.

"Besides, Caden is now disabled. Ms. Orsini, you're so smart; can't you see that?"

"You clearly could choose a better boyfriend."

He was clearly trying to drive a wedge between Harper and Caden.

"You know, Caden had many lovers when he was abroad."

Harper saw through his intentions immediately. This kind of petty game was laughable to her.

She took a sip of juice and said slowly, "Mr. Lucas wright, you don't need to waste your breath. I will never betray Caden."

"Why?" Lucas asked, genuinely puzzled.

To him, Harper was a beautiful yet incredibly foolish woman. She was a paradox—brilliant and stunning, yet her actions were incomprehensible.

Undoubtedly, Harper was like a magnet, firmly attracting his attention. He had never met a woman like her before.

Harper pondered for a moment before answering seriously, "You know, I've been through a failed marriage. My ex-husband is Alex Lavien."

For a moment, the playful expression on Lucas's face vanished.

Noah's gaze on Harper grew even more intense.

The Wright family had chosen to partner with the Lavien Group in Majestic City. 

Few people knew about her relationship with Alex. Even within the Lavien Group, employees thought they were just superior and subordinate. Her value to the Lavien Group was in securing contracts and partnerships.

Outsiders rarely knew the real reason for their divorce, assuming they simply weren't compatible, unaware of the existence of Emily.

Harper had always tried to maintain Alex's dignity, never discussing their issues publicly.

"Alex did many things to hurt me before; while Caden was there for me. He is truly devoted to me and loves me. Even the car accident you mentioned happened because of me. How could I possibly betray him? We share not just love, but responsibility. As businesspeople, especially those in high positions, we should value responsibility, don't you think?"

Noah stared at her for a long moment before slowly speaking, "Harper, you really surprise me."

He couldn't help but smile, "You are indeed an interesting person. How about this: if you drink this bottle of vodka, I'll let the Wood Company go. You must know, I'm not just after the Wood Company, but the entire FusionX."

He was joking, but Harper knew he was serious.

She knew Noah had countless ways to acquire FusionX. With his connections and methods, many were willing to work for him.

Just as the board had suspected, the Wright family was targeting FusionX. He wasn't after the Wood Company but FusionX.

Harper was acutely aware of FusionX's precarious situation.

She stared at the high-proof vodka, slowly reaching out.

Manuel grabbed her wrist tightly, "Don't be impulsive!"

Drinking that bottle could be fatal, especially for a woman like Harper.

Even Lucas felt a pang of guilt, "Noah, let it go. Don't make things difficult for Ms. Orsini."

Noah's gaze remained indifferent, not responding.

Harper withdrew her hand, smiling lightly, "I'm not foolish enough to risk my health."

She leaned back in her chair, her expression calm, "Mr. Noah Wright, you wouldn't let the Wood Company and FusionX go for a bottle of vodka. We both know that. We're talking about a market worth hundreds of billions. If you gave up such a huge deal for a bottle of vodka, I'd seriously question your intelligence."

"So why joke about it? We're both in this game. You make a move, and I will respond. Let's be straightforward."

Noah opened the vodka, poured himself a full glass, and drank it in one go.

Then he poured another glass and gently pushed it towards Harper.

"Harper, you are indeed candid. I haven't met someone as genuine as you in a long time. It's a pleasure to know you. I toast to you."

He paused, then added, "Since you're so direct, I won't beat around the bush. I've found a suitable partner, and we'll soon face off. If you want to save the Wood Company and FusionX, you need to act fast. I'll be waiting for your move."

His eyes were deep, his tone surprisingly sincere.

Harper nodded, "I understand. I'll do whatever it takes to stop your plans, Mr. Noah Wright. I'll show you that this is Majestic City, not Starlight City, not your home turf. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have other matters to attend to."

With that, she stood up to leave.

Manuel quickly followed her.

Lucas, feeling a rare sense of goodwill, advised, "Ms. Orsini, you don't have to stay at FusionX. This isn't your responsibility. It's too much for you."

For the first time, he felt a deep affection for someone he had just met. He genuinely wanted to look out for her. If she stayed tied to FusionX, she would inevitably fail, becoming the company's scapegoat.

Lucas thought if she joined the Wright Group, it would be the best outcome for her.
