No Wife, No Life Chapter 322
Even though he knew Harper might not spill the beans, Arthur just couldn't give up.
He finally realized how much Molly meant to him, so how could he just let go?
Harper shoved Caden into the car, the dim light inside casting shadows on her face, making her expression hard to read.
Her face showed no emotion, but Caden knew she was pissed.
Before Caden could say anything, Harper nestled into his arms, gripping his hand tightly. "Did I go too far?"
Caden chuckled, reaching out to gently stroke her hair, his voice tender. "Harper, why would you suddenly think that? In my heart, no matter what you do, it's never wrong. I know you're doing it for Molly's sake; if she keeps getting tangled up with Arthur, she'll only suffer more."
Even though Arthur was his friend, he couldn't condone Arthur's actions when he found out Arthur was using Molly as a blood bank.
Now Arthur was alone, and it was his own doing.
Harper sighed, hugging Caden's waist tighter. "Whatever I do, you always support me."
A smile spread across Caden's face.
He cupped Harper's face, giving her a gentle kiss on the lips. "You're my wife. No matter what happens, I'll always stand behind you and support you."
They exchanged smiles.
Harper wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply.
As the kiss intensified, their breaths grew uneven.
Just then, a sudden ring of the phone shattered the intimate atmosphere in the car.
Harper glanced at the caller ID with a hint of frustration—it was Stephen.
She cleared her throat. "Mr. Garcia, what's up?"
Stephen's deep voice came through the phone, tinged with seriousness, "My men just reported that the woman you were escorting has escaped."
Harper's brows furrowed instantly.
The bodyguards were elite members of Stephen's team. With their skills, capturing Xavia shouldn't have been a problem. Clearly, someone had helped her escape.
But who could it be?
Xavia had shouted Edwin's name when she was taken away, so it must be related to him.
But then again, Xavia was now a discarded pawn. Why would Edwin save her?
Saving her would only bring trouble upon himself. It seemed unnecessary.
Countless speculations swirled in Harper's mind. After a few seconds of silence, she spoke slowly, "Got it. Thanks for the heads-up, Mr. Garcia. I'll send someone to track her down right away."
Xavia's first move after escaping would surely be to seek revenge on Molly. The priority now was to send people to protect Molly's safety.
Harper instructed Stephen about this, and he promptly sent people to guard the villa where Molly was currently staying.
That night, Harper arrived at the villa.
She had arranged this villa for Molly after learning about her divorce from Arthur.
Only here could Molly avoid being found by Arthur.
Now, Harper couldn't stop worrying about Molly and decided to stay with her.
She had explained this to Caden.
Knowing how close Molly and Harper were, Caden naturally didn't object.
After entering the password, Harper strode into the living room.
Though the lights were on, Molly was nowhere to be seen.
Harper instinctively looked upstairs, but there was no light.
Could something have already happened to Molly? Was her arrangement still too late?
Harper's heart pounded as she quickly went upstairs. When she opened Molly's room, she found Molly curled up on the cold floor, surrounded by empty bottles.
Harper breathed a sigh of relief, but her heart tightened again.
She turned on the light, squatted beside Molly, and saw her tear-streaked face.
Molly was mumbling something, and when Harper leaned closer, she heard Arthur's name repeatedly.
Harper sighed.
Molly was still deeply hurt because of Arthur.
It was the first time Harper had seen Molly so defeated.
If she had known, she would have forced Molly to divorce Arthur earlier. Things wouldn't have escalated to this point.
Harper pursed her lips and used all her strength to drag Molly to the bed, covering her with a blanket.
As she was about to leave, she noticed a photo on the nightstand.
It was the only photo of Molly and Arthur together.
Both were in casual clothes. Arthur looked a bit awkward but couldn't hide his smile, while Molly's expression was mischievous, her hand on Arthur's shoulder, seemingly coercing him.
They looked close, but that was all in the past.
Harper suddenly wondered if Arthur truly liked Molly, but that tiny bit of affection was as worthless as Alex's had been.
...
Late at night, Xavia woke up in a cold basement, noticing shackles on her hands and feet.
What was going on? Why was she here?
She vaguely remembered a car accident while being taken away. When she woke up, she was here.
Did someone save her?
Who could it be?
Xavia tried to stand but failed, her body weak and exhausted.
Then she heard footsteps.
As the footsteps grew closer, she slowly raised her head. Seeing the person clearly, her eyes filled with confusion. "Who are you?"
A female voice answered, filled with resentment and bitterness. "You don't need to know who I am. Just know that I hate Harper as much as you do. I'll keep you safe, but you must follow my plan. No matter what, I want Harper dead!"
Xavia was stunned. Before she could ask more, the person had already left.
She sat in the basement, her palms slowly clenching.
Though she was living like a rat in a sewer now, as long as there was hope for revenge, she would never give up!
She would make Harper and Molly pay for what they had done!
...
In her sleep, Molly shivered.
When she opened her eyes, she saw Harper sleeping peacefully beside her.
Molly smiled.
Despite the headache from drinking too much, seeing Harper made her feel inexplicably better.
As long as Harper was here, everything would be okay!
Just then, her phone vibrated. Molly picked it up and saw that it was a call from a talent agent.
