No Wife, No Life Chapter 251
Chloe couldn't recall the Orsini family's second daughter.
As she casually flipped through the documents, her eyes narrowed at the first page where it mentioned the Orsini family's illegitimate daughter.
Being a lady of her status, Chloe despised the existence of illegitimate children.
She glanced disdainfully at Emily, who was on the floor.
As she continued to read, Chloe's expression grew increasingly grim.
Scheming, seduction, manipulation—Emily was the epitome of a bad woman.
How dare someone like her appear before Chloe?
Chloe paused, looking down at Emily again.
There was no denying Emily's beauty, but her eyes were filled with a malicious intent that she couldn't hide.
Just one look, and Chloe had no fondness for Emily.
There was no need to continue reading the documents.
Chloe tossed her phone to the bodyguard.
"Emily Orsini, the Orsini family's illegitimate daughter, a woman with a terrible reputation. What do you want from me?" Her tone was filled with nothing but mockery.
As a wealthy heiress, Chloe had no reason to interact with someone as lowly as Emily.
Emily's face turned pale.
She looked up at Chloe, who was sitting on the couch, looking down at her.
The physical distance between them was small, but it felt like a chasm.
One was high above, while the other was like a bug in the gutter.
"You didn't come here to deal with Harper, did you?" Chloe asked.
Emily lowered her eyes, remaining silent.
Chloe frowned. "You really came here for her?"
The documents clearly stated that Emily had done many things to go against Harper, all of which ended in humiliation for herself.
Honestly, someone as intelligent as Chloe couldn't understand such foolish behavior.
If Emily wasn't as good as Harper, Emily should accept that and behave properly , instead of trying to take what wasn't hers.
Did she think that by bringing Harper down, Harper's things would become hers? It was laughable.
"You have three minutes. Speak."
Chloe closed her eyes lazily, showing her disinterest.
Emily swallowed, feeling utterly insignificant in Chloe's presence.
Chloe looked so noble, while Emily felt like an ant.
After a moment of hesitation, Emily clenched her fists and spoke slowly, "Ms. Wright, I know you came to Majestic City to deal with Harper."
"Harper is my enemy, and she's also your enemy. So, in that sense, we're friends. I can definitely help Ms. Wright." She spoke with fervor.
Chloe remained indifferent, as if nothing mattered to her.
Her juice was finished, and the bodyguard poured her another half glass. She tapped her fingers on the glass, looking at the juice with a slight smile.
"First, I didn't come to Majestic City to deal with Harper. Second..."
She placed the glass on the table, tapping her fingers lightly on the surface, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Do you think you're worthy of being my friend?"
From birth, Chloe had been a princess, mingling only with the elite.
Someone like Emily wasn't even worth a glance.
Emily was visibly shaken by Chloe's disdainful tone, her whole body trembling.
It was at this moment that she realized the vast difference in their statuses.
Some things were determined at birth. No matter how hard she tried, some things were simply out of reach.
"I am well aware of your aversion towards Harper. I can be of significant assistance to you," Emily articulated, her voice quavering. "I am willing to undertake the unpleasant tasks that you would prefer not to be associated with."
Chloe's lips curled into a mocking smile.
"If you know I disdain certain things, why would you think I'd want to work with you?"
"You need to understand, working with someone like you is what I disdain the most."
"Even if I wanted to deal with someone, I'd choose a more dignified way, not the underhanded methods you use."
"Besides, being lowly isn't the worst part. The worst part is your entire being is tainted. If you come any closer, I feel like the air itself gets dirty."
Chloe glanced at the table, where a bottle of red wine was placed.
Her gaze lingered on the wine, and the bodyguard immediately uncorked it, pouring a full glass and handing it to her.
Chloe looked at the wine, then poured it over Emily, who was still on the floor.
The cold liquid drenched her, the red wine dripping onto the floor. Emily's hair stuck to her forehead, making her look utterly pathetic.
The sweet, cloying scent of the wine filled the room.
To Emily, it was a blatant humiliation.
Emily trembled, her body shaking, her fists clenched tightly, but she didn't dare look at Chloe the way she looked at Harper.
Because she knew Chloe's status was different; she wasn't worthy of looking at her.
Chloe sneered, looking at her with arrogance and disdain, even taking a deep breath as if enjoying the scent of the wine."Emily, remember your place. You're just an illegitimate daughter, a nobody. Do you think you're in any position to negotiate or cooperate with me?"
"Whether I came to Majestic City for Harper or not is none of your business." Chloe's words were sharp.
Harper might consider the other person's feelings, but Chloe, spoiled from a young age, never cared about such things. She was a princess through and through.
Besides, whatever competition she had with Harper, it was none of Emily's business.
Given her status and position, how could she possibly be manipulated by Emily?
Emily's face was ashen, her hands tightly clenched, holding back her emotions. "Ms. Wright, Jacob is your fiancé, but he's been close to Harper, always defending her. He's even jeopardized the company's interests for her. Their relationship is far from simple."
Chloe's eyes narrowed slightly. "That's my business."
"Ms. Wright, you have to believe me. Jacob has been involved with Harper for a long time! His sister, Heidi Harris, has even met Harper. Think about it, Jacob has introduced Harper to his family. Have you met his family, Ms. Wright?"
A dangerous glint flashed in Chloe's eyes. What was she implying?
