No Wife, No Life Chapter 299

Molly was always feeling weak and sleepy recently. She had been curled up in Arthur's arms, dozing for about an hour before she slowly woke up.

Arthur was working on the couch in the lounge.

Hearing her soft hum, he looked up. "Hey, you're awake?"

He opened the takeout box on the table. "Come on, get up and eat something."

Molly stretched lazily, reluctant to leave the cozy blanket.

Eventually, Arthur came over, scooped her up, and carried her to the bathroom to freshen up.

Once she was fully awake, Molly walked to the window, pulled the curtain slightly, and saw that it was already dark outside.

In the distance, lights twinkled like stars.

Molly remarked, "It's so late already."Molly reclined upon the settee, and upon beholding the table laden with an array of delicacies, she realized she was really angry.

The food was all nutritious, and under Arthur's watchful eye, she picked up a bowl of chicken soup and started drinking.Molly took a bite of a strawberry. "I think I'm so healthy, but why do I keep fainting? Is it because of the constant work?"

Arthur paused. "Anyone working day and night would get sick."

Molly nodded and said nothing more.

Arthur put down his report and handed her a glass of milk.

Molly took a big sip and then pushed the glass to Arthur's lips. He took a sip, and they finished the milk together, one sip at a time.

She had a ring of milk around her mouth.

His eyes darkened, reminded of a kitten drinking milk.

Unable to resist, he leaned in and kissed away the milk from the corner of her mouth, his voice low. "What plans do you have next?"

Molly thought for a moment. "I have a public service short film to shoot. Other than that, I'll push back my schedule. I just finished filming a long series, so I need a break."

Arthur opened his laptop and clicked the mouse. A picture of a picturesque island appeared on the screen. Just looking at the photo was refreshing.

"This is an island the Davis Group plans to develop into a resort. Want to check it out?"

Molly caught on quickly and smiled. "Are you taking me on vacation?"

She placed her hand on Arthur's and eagerly flipped through the pictures. "How about a honeymoon?"

Arthur's eyes flickered, but he remained silent.

Molly knew Arthur probably wouldn't answer her question and probably treated it as a joke.

"Let's have a wedding." Suddenly, Arthur looked at her and said it plainly.

Molly, sitting beside him, felt her smile freeze.

"Are you serious?" Molly's voice was dry.

Arthur closed the laptop and carried her to the bed. "If you desire to have bridal portraits taken and host a wedding ceremony, I'll make it happen."

This was a declaration to the world, not just a private ceremony.

Molly's throat tightened. She felt her eyes misting over.

The room's lights suddenly went out, and she felt Arthur's warm chest and steady heartbeat.

Arthur kissed the back of her neck and asked, "Do you want kids?"

Molly was taken aback.

She liked children but couldn't envision having one with Arthur.

Right now, the Davis Group wasn't fully under his control, and Edwin was still a threat. Besides, her career was on the rise. It wasn't the right time for kids.

"I don't want kids." Molly's voice was tense. "You don't want them either, right?"

Arthur held Molly tightly. "I had a vasectomy. You don't need to take birth control anymore."

For a moment, Molly felt choked up.

He was answering her; he didn't want kids either.

But her reluctance toward parenthood was transitory and stemmed from a multitude of factors. Were those impediments to vanish, she would undoubtedly desire to bear a child with Arthur, their enduring legacy. Perhaps Arthur was genuinely averse to the prospect of having children. They were sharing a bed but dreaming different dreams.

Meanwhile, Xavia, still in the hospital, was keeping an eye on online events.

She had orchestrated the stabbing incident to prove her place in Arthur's heart.

And Arthur had proven it by drawing Molly's blood for her, showing that Molly was still her blood bank.

She was pleased with this but also felt her dark side growing.

She had lied to her manager. Regardless of whether Molly was her blood bank, she wouldn't let Molly go.

She harbored malicious intentions to obliterate Molly's reputation, forcibly expel her from the entertainment industry, and ultimately eradicate her presence from the world entirely.

That was why she had hired Max to pose as Molly's fan, but to her surprise, Molly had quickly cleared her name.

It shouldn't have been this way!

Xavia's gaze grew somber, her eyes fixated solely upon the numerous apologetic comments directed toward Molly on her mobile device.

Molly's fans were comforting her, and her beautiful photos and videos were being shared widely.

Xavia's eyes were filled with hatred as she stared at Molly's beautiful face on the screen, letting out a few cold laughs.

Too bad she couldn't make a move on Molly now.

It was a sensitive time, and she was worried about being watched. She feared Arthur would find out she was involved. If that happened, she wouldn't be able to use Arthur anymore, and she'd lose her blood bank.

She still needed Molly's blood and heart. So she had to be careful, to keep pretending to be the kindest person in front of Arthur.

Just then, her manager walked into the hospital room and saw Xavia's twisted expression. Xavia seemed filled with hatred, her eyes bulging, her cheekbones raised, and her eyes cloudy.

The manager was startled but forced a smile. "Xavia, I have good news. You've been chosen as the ambassador for the Majestic City Orphanage Foundation."

The manager raised her voice to emphasize the importance of this.

Majestic City was full of wealthy people who loved to do charity for a good reputation.

So these wealthy people paid attention to charity and established various foundations. Many celebrities wanted to shoot these ads or be ambassadors for the resources behind them.

Shooting an ad didn't take much time, but the resources from the capital were invaluable.

Sure enough, Xavia was pleased, seemingly forgetting her grudge against Molly.

She could easily become the orphanage foundation's ambassador. Could Molly do that?

Xavia's smile deepened, and after a moment, she asked, "Has Emery been taken to the detention center? When will she be sentenced?"

The manager was momentarily flustered, her face changing color.
