Xavia had thought it through. She knew Molly would definitely see the messages.

When Molly saw them, she'd realize that while she was feeling down, her husband was right there with someone else.

Xavia wanted to provoke Molly. She wanted to warn Molly that even though Molly and Arthur were married, it didn't matter. Arthur's heart  still belonged to her.

This was a battle between her and Molly.

The auction officially began, but the atmosphere was tense from the start.

Every time Arthur showed interest in an item, Caden would bid on it.

The attendees were sharp. Seeing the standoff between the two, they chose not to get involved. Given the status of Arthur and Caden, no one wanted to step into the fray.

But everyone was puzzled. Arthur and Caden had always been close. Why the sudden fallout? There hadn't been any news of a conflict between them.

People whispered and speculated, their eyes darting between the two men.

Caden and Arthur, however, remained calm and composed.

In truth, Arthur had no intention of competing with Caden. He had no interest in the auction items. He was only there because Xavia insisted on attending and dragged him along.

So, Caden ended up winning the most items that night.

Even after the auction, Caden reminded Arthur to remember that his wife was Molly.

Arthur's eyes darkened, remaining silent.

On the way back to drop off Xavia, she didn't speak either. When they arrived at her villa, she didn't get out immediately. Instead, she grabbed Arthur's hand and leaned into his chest.

The driver, sensing the tension, kept his eyes down.

"Arthur, I never meant to hurt anyone."

Her voice was choked with emotion, her large eyes glistening with tears, evoking a sense of pity.

"I'm just so sad. We used to be so close. We were supposed to..."

She trailed off, realizing she shouldn't say more, her eyes filled with sorrow and pain.

What she left unsaid was clear: They were supposed to be the ones getting married, but now...

Arthur could feel Xavia trembling in his arms.

He was silent for a moment.

Then, he pushed her away, his gaze indifferent. "Xavia, we can't do this."

Xavia stared at him, shocked, her hands clenched tightly.

"Do you think I'm wrong?"

She looked at him, her voice soft but tinged with sadness.

"After everything we've been through, do you think our feelings are fake? You say we can't do this, but we have before. Is it just because of Molly?"

She could hardly believe it.

In her heart, Arthur had always loved her, hadn't he?

In reality, she had only returned to the country recently, around the time Harper went abroad for a month.

Since her return, she had been trying to make Molly's life miserable. For some reason, Xavia wanted to show Molly that she was just a stand-in, only worthy of being a substitute.

She thought back to a recent gala. Molly had attended with her fiancé, Edwin. Of course, Arthur was there too, representing the Davis Group.

That was the first time Xavia met Molly.

That night, something shocking suddenly happened, thrusting Xavia into the spotlight.

It all happened so suddenly.Arthur had a drink, and then he was hit with a severe headache, struggling to breathe, almost suffocating.

His vision blurred, and he couldn't see clearly. The world around him seemed shrouded in darkness, isolating him completely.

The sounds of a car crash from years ago echoed in his ears, accompanied by the desperate cries of men and women, and his grandfather's low curses, repeating over and over.

He struggled to stand, his face twisted in pain, barely able to stay on his feet before collapsing to the cold ground. His knees hit the floor with a thud, looking both pitiful and terrifying.

He had never been so vulnerable.

At that moment, Molly saw what was happening. She bit her lip hard, tasting the metallic tang of blood.

She stared intently at the scene before her.

Xavia, panicked and terrified, clung to Arthur's hand. "Edwin, Edwin, what's happening to Arthur? What's wrong with him?"

Edwin's eyes flickered, his expression troubled, his tone heavy. "Arthur's mania is acting up again."

As soon as he spoke, whispers erupted around them.

The heir to the Davis Group had mania? That was a mental health issue. Could the Davis Group's CEO be mentally ill?

A rival of the Davis family, feigning concern. "The Davis Group's CEO has mania? How can someone like that run a company?"

He glanced sideways at Edwin. "The Davis family has more than just Arthur. Anyone else would be better than someone with a mental illness."

"Yeah, if he's sick, he should be in a hospital, not meddling in company affairs."

Edwin watched the scene unfold, a hint of satisfaction in his eyes.

He tried to help Arthur up, but Arthur shoved him to the ground.

Arthur's face was twisted with rage, his eyes filled with fury, looking like a wild beast.

Edwin panicked.

Xavia hesitated for a moment before rushing to grab Arthur's arm. "Arthur, Arthur, calm down; that's your brother!"

But Arthur seemed not to hear. He paused, then grabbed Edwin's hair, slamming his head against the ground repeatedly, his actions fierce and relentless.

No one dared to intervene.

Xavia clung to Arthur's arm, afraid to let go, fearing Edwin might not survive if she did.

Everyone watched, but no one stepped in.

They were both members of the esteemed Davis family and sharedc Consequently, not a single soul dared to intervene in their altercation.

Even on a normal day, no one would get involved, let alone when one of them had mania. Who would want to invite trouble?

Finally, the host of the gala, Gerald Roberts, arrived with security, taking Arthur to the hospital.

Molly quickly stepped forward. "I'll go with you."

After they left, Gerald turned to the crowd, his face stern. "Mr. Arthur Davis has been a long-time partner of mine. Since he had an incident at my event, I need to investigate and give him an explanation. Can anyone tell me what happened?"
