No Wife, No Life Chapter 297
Maplewood University was in Majestic City, while Silverlake College was in another city.
This time, Max didn't even hesitate. He shouted, "Maplewood University! You studied acting at Maplewood University!"
Kathie, holding a pen, made a heavy mark in her notebook and continued, "Did I sign with Starlight Entertainment or Dreamscape Entertainment?"
Both Starlight and Dreamscape were entertainment companies in this city, but Starlight focused on developing versatile artists, while Dreamscape mainly produced pop stars.
Max actually didn't know the difference between the two companies. After hesitating for a moment, he tentatively asked, "Dreamscape Entertainment?"
Kathie's pen paused, and she nodded before continuing, "After debuting as an actress, was my first project Whispering Shadows or Blade of Destiny?"
Max was pleased to have answered the previous question correctly, but now he was stumped again.
Fortunately, he had seen Blade of Destiny and didn't remember her being in it, so he confidently said, "Your first project after debuting as an actress was Whispering Shadows."
Kathie asked a few more questions, and Max answered them accordingly.
Finally, Kathie asked, "What is my fan club's nickname? Is it Molly's Marvels or Reyes' Radiance?"
Max was completely stumped. He scratched his head for a while without answering.
Kathie looked at him quietly, "Don't you know?"
Max stammered, "I know, just give me some time to think."
Kathie didn't rush him, patiently waiting for his answer.
"Is it Reyes' Radiance?"
Kathie showed no expression and continued, "Last question, you really like Molly, and you're a loyal fan, right?"
Max answered this one with certainty, "Of course, I'm a fan of Molly. I've liked her for two years, ever since she debuted. Everything I've done is for Molly. Xavia was in Molly's way."
He answered almost reflexively, as if he had memorized it all.
The two officers standing at the door almost burst out laughing.
Max, however, looked completely bewildered.
Molly, standing behind Kathie, laughed and flipped her long hair, revealing her radiant face.
She stepped forward, placing a hand on Kathie's shoulder, "You say you're a fan of Molly Reyes, but you don't even know who Molly is. Isn't that ridiculous?"
Max was utterly confused, "What do you mean? Isn't she Molly Reyes? Don't try to fool me. I'm a fan of Molly; I know her."
Molly casually tied up her hair, smiling, "Why would I lie to you? She's my lawyer, and I," she paused meaningfully, "I am Molly Reyes."
Molly leaned forward, placing her hands on the table, and slowly said to Max with a fleshy face, "You pretend to be my fan, but you don't even know what I look like. And all your answers were wrong."
Molly glanced at the notebook on the table and chuckled, "You said you saw my billboard two years ago and liked me? I only debuted this year and never did any billboards before that. Where did you see my billboard?"
She attended Majestic City University and signed with the Davis Entertainment Company.
"The rest of your answers were even more laughable. If a real fan were here, they'd think you were a joke."
Molly closed the notebook, her smile turning disdainful.
Finally, Max realized what was happening. His face turned red with anger as he stood up and roared, "You tricked me!"
The two officers immediately stepped forward, restraining the furious Max, who continued to shout.
Molly calmly put on her gloves, grabbed Max by the collar, and slowly said, "How did I trick you? I came here out of kindness to see my fan, only to find an imposter trying to ruin my reputation. So, who's tricking whom?"
Molly gritted her teeth, "Did you really think I wouldn't investigate? How did your wife and kids' accounts suddenly get a large sum of money? Do you think I am an idiot?"
Her eyes were filled with cold fury.
For a moment, Max was actually scared. After a long pause, she let go of him, took off her gloves, and tossed them into the trash.
Her voice was icy, "I shall direct my lawyer to secure your prolonged residence behind bars. Ideally, that establishment shall become your permanent abode for your remaining years."
With that, Molly walked out of the interrogation room with her head held high.
Kathie gave Max a cold look before following her out.
The two officers then sat down to start a new round of questioning.
"Why not bail him out? If he leaves the detention center, he'll definitely contact the people behind this." Kathie asked Molly as she closed the car door.
Molly reviewed the footage from earlier, smiling, "You've been around Arthur long enough to know he has a special place in his heart for his first love."
Molly's eyes sparkled, "I was thinking, if I bail him out and he leads us to Arthur's first love, who do you think will suffer in the end?"
Of course, it would be Molly.
Molly had thought it through clearly.
Between Xavia and Molly, Arthur would definitely choose Xavia.
For a moment, Kathie was speechless, not knowing what to say.
Molly pulled a candy from her pocket, popped it into her mouth, and smiled as she tasted the sweetness, "Clearing my fan's name is enough for me."
Everyone knew who was behind this. If Max were released, he could contact his handler and reveal the mastermind.
Molly didn't insist on pursuing it further because she had promised Arthur she wouldn't let Xavia be affected by public opinion. So, she came to Max just to clear her and her fan's names.
She was unwilling to permit her fan to continue being vilified as rabid canines.
Molly paused for a moment, then looked out the window and saw a familiar car.
It was Harper's car.
Molly was taken aback and sighed softly, feeling a bit helpless.
She knew Harper cared about her, but she didn't expect Harper to actually come here.
Harper must have thought the fake fan was a breakthrough.
Molly instructed the driver to stop, then slowly got out, her face still a bit pale.
She walked over and knocked on Harper's car window.
The window rolled down, revealing Harper's radiant face.
"Harper."
Harper's eyes flickered, "Want to go in with me?"
They understood each other instantly.
Molly smiled, "I've already asked. That person isn't my fan, just someone paid to put on a show."
