No Wife, No Life Chapter 298
In an instant, Harper knew Xavia was behind this.
Their eyes met, and they both understood.
"I know. I can't let her off easy," Harper said firmly.
Molly didn't say anything, nor did she stop her. After all, Harper wanted to step in for her.
From the beginning, Molly had promised Arthur she wouldn't continue investigating or harm Xavia, but she couldn't make that promise for Harper, could she?
After returning from the interrogation room, Kathie posted the video on social media. They had already discussed with the officers beforehand and got official permission to release the interrogation video.
This particular video was the segment where Kathie questioned Max.
After waiting so long, the netizens finally got a response from Molly's studio. And as expected, when she made a move, it was a bombshell.
The man who stabbed Xavia turned out to be a hired fake fan.
Molly's fans, who watched the video, finally felt vindicated.
[I knew it! Molly's Marvels would never do something like that! We're all law-abiding fans; we wouldn't do something so crazy!]
"That fake guy got every question wrong. What an idiot, pretending to be a Molly fan. It's laughable."
Molly's fans were furious, and those who had previously criticized her started apologizing.
Of course, some people still didn't believe it, thinking it was another scheme by Molly's studio.
Others said Molly was cunning, coming up with the interrogation idea, or that the man was bribed by her. Some even claimed the video was staged and not real.
Xavia's fans and Molly's haters refused to believe it, thinking there was some powerful backing for Molly.
Kathie couldn't stand it anymore and directly released Max's wife and children's travel records, showing they had left the country the night before Max attacked Molly.
Even so, Molly's haters wouldn't let it go. Some even paid entertainment bloggers to continue spreading rumors about Molly.
These bloggers, who worked for money, quickly started fabricating stories. But before they could post them, Kathie and Peyton tagged them, warning them to expect court summons in a few days.
These entertainment bloggers, commanding millions of followers and operating numerous fabricated accounts, wielded considerable power in shaping public opinion.
Usually, celebrities wouldn't dare sue them because they were part of a large, hard-to-dismantle organization. But now, they were tagged by Kathie and Peyton.
Who was Peyton? The VP of HoloSphere Technologies. Peyton's involvement meant Harper was also paying attention, and Harper wouldn't let this slide easily.
And Kathie? She was the top lawyer for Davis Entertainment Company, known for never losing a case.
The bloggers realized they were in serious trouble.
Soon, some bloggers privately messaged Kathie and Peyton, seeking to reconcile with Molly and retract the false information, showing a very sincere attitude. But Peyton was firm and didn't respond.
Getting no reply, they panicked and publicly apologized. Xavia's fans didn't believe it and questioned if they were threatened by powerful forces.
The bloggers, having no choice, confessed their previous dealings and sincerely apologized to other celebrities they had slandered.
Meanwhile, Molly went straight to Davis Entertainment Company after parting ways with Kathie. She took the CEO's private elevator to the top floor.
The office was quiet; Arthur wasn't there. Molly sat in his chair, spinning around playfully.
Just then, the door opened, and Arthur walked in with his assistant.
They were discussing work, but Arthur immediately noticed Molly's face peeking out from behind the computer.
The assistant was surprised.
Arthur glanced at her and said, "You can go now."
The assistant nodded, not daring to ask questions, and quickly left, carefully closing the door behind her.
Arthur walked over and sat down without a word. Molly propped her chin on her hands and blinked at him. "Should we lock the door first?"
Arthur's gaze became more meaningful. Molly smiled and explained, "I don't want to do anything inappropriate. I'm just worried someone might barge in."
Arthur replied coolly, "With you here, the assistant will guard the door. No one will come in."
His words seemed to imply she was there for something improper.
Molly was annoyed. "I'm actually quite well-behaved. It's you who looks untrustworthy."
Molly got up and walked over, tugging at his tie.
Arthur's tone was indifferent. "Then what are you doing now?"
"Just messing with you," Molly said, unbuttoning two of his shirt buttons. "See, now you look even more untrustworthy."
Seeing she wasn't getting to the point, Arthur grabbed her wrist and asked, "Is everything resolved?"
Molly unceremoniously pulled Arthur to the chair and sat on his lap. "Everything's resolved."
She leaned in and kissed his lips, then bit his lip.
Arthur paused, feeling his breath quicken. He picked her up and headed for the lounge.
Molly quickly grabbed his sleeve. "No, I can't right now."
"We won't do anything else," he coaxed.
Molly leaned against him. "I think you want to do something else."
Arthur didn't respond and laid her on the bed. Then he lay down beside her.
"Is Edwin out?" Molly asked seriously.
Arthur paused, seemingly surprised by the question. "Yes, he's out."
Molly's tone became serious. "You need to be careful. He's not trustworthy."
Arthur lowered his gaze, thinking. "I knew Edwin would make a move at the party."
Molly's eyes lit up with excitement. "So you drank that wine on purpose to see their reaction?"
Arthur's face remained cold and silent.
Molly was speechless. "I guess I worried too much."
Arthur's eyes lifted slightly, showing no warmth. Suddenly, he leaned in and kissed her ear. "No, you did well."
Before Molly could react, Arthur's lips moved down, and he flipped over, his hand moving lower, his actions becoming rapid and intense.
