Emily's face was dark as she coldly said, "What purpose does it serve to assist Harper? She has already aligned herself with FusionX Company and is no longer affiliated with the Lavien Group."

The HR manager sneered, "Yeah, Harper Orsini isn't with Lavien Group anymore. And whose fault is that?"

Emily shot him a vicious glare but stayed silent.

Just then, the elevator doors opened, and Quinn stepped out.

Seeing Harper, Quinn's face still wore that fake, gentle smile.

"I figured you'd show up, but I didn't expect you to be so quick."

Quinn walked slowly over to Harper, looking down at her with a cold smile.

The tension between them was thick.

"Since Ms. Orsini is here, let's find a place to talk."

With that, Quinn led her to his office.

Sitting on the large sofa in his office, Quinn spoke calmly, "So, Ms. Orsini, are you here for Travis?"

He poured her a cup of tea.

Harper glanced at the tea but didn't drink it.

"Travis leaked Lavien Group's trade secrets, causing us to lose billions. You should be able to verify that."

He paused, "This is a confirmed fact, so Travis is looking at several years in prison."

"Of course, if Ms. Orsini insists on helping him, you could pay off the debt for him. Then maybe Lavien Group would consider dropping the charges."

Before Harper could respond, Quinn gazed at her with a meaningful expression and continued, "If Ms. Orsini truly wishes to disburse this sum, there certainly wouldn't be any impediment, considering that Caden's assets are entirely under your control." 

"But I wonder, would Caden be okay with you spending so much on Travis?"

Harper laughed. "Quinn, we've worked together for three years. Do I look like a fool to you?"

"Of course not, Ms. Orsini. You're the smartest person in the world." Quinn admitted frankly.

"Then why would I just hand over billions to Lavien Group? What are you thinking?"

"I believe the charges are real, but Travis didn't do it. You're looking for a scapegoat, and Travis is the perfect candidate since he's leaving Lavien Group anyway."

As she spoke, Quinn's smile gradually faded.

Harper's mocking smile remained.

"I think Alex is protecting someone he cares about. But who could that be?"

Her eyes sparkled as she stared directly at Quinn, "It's Jeremy, isn't it?"

Quinn's face turned cold as he stared at Harper.

Harper had guessed correctly. The real culprit was indeed Jeremy.

He had transferred Lavien Group's funds to offshore accounts, stolen confidential information, and sold it overseas. All of it was Jeremy's doing.

Alex wanted to protect Jeremy, so he had to destroy Travis.

Travis probably guessed this too, which was why he remained silent during the interrogation.

"You are truly despicable! Is there anyone decent in the Lavien family?" Harper sneered.

Quinn's face darkened, and he lowered his voice, "Ms. Orsini, you can't just say things without evidence."

"Then why are you so agitated? Afraid I'll expose you?"

"Don't worry, if I do expose it, I'll choose the right moment. Once I have all the evidence of Jeremy's wrongdoings, I'll release it online and ruin him completely. It's not the right time now."

Quinn's eyes turned cold.

"Harper, aren't you here to make peace with Lavien Group? I don't think you're here to stir up trouble."

"Getting me riled up now, what good does it do for Travis?"

"Travis, you actually know we live in a society governed by law. Even the Lavien family can't control everything."

Harper smiled lightly, "Even if Lavien Group has connections, I can also find people to help. Travis will stay in the police station until I uncover the truth. Until then, you can't harm him."

The clearer Harper spoke, the more anxious Quinn felt.

He knew Harper could do what she said. With her current status, even the high-ranking officials in Majestic City would agree to delay Travis's trial at her request.

So, Harper would indeed find out the truth during this time.

He had hoped to use this situation to make Harper compromise, but now she was fighting back.

Quinn's eyes turned fierce, "Harper, I really don't understand why you're planning to do this."

"This is between Lavien Group and Travis. It has nothing to do with you."

"Focus on managing FusionX Company and stay out of Lavien Group's affairs." He was compromising.

If Harper wouldn't agree to this, at least he wanted her to stay out of it.

Harper stood up, her eyes cold, "Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm definitely getting involved."

Quinn remarked, "You're as arrogant as ever."

Harper ignored him and turned to leave.

Watching her walk away, Quinn's heart sank.

If Harper really went through with this, it would be a huge problem.

He had to deal with Travis quickly before Harper took action. If she uncovered anything, it would be a disaster for Lavien Group.

Quinn picked up the phone on his desk. The person on the other end had heard their entire conversation.

"You heard everything. It's not that I don't want to help Jeremy, but there's no way. You know Harper's methods."

On the other end, Mark felt troubled. "I understand. Thanks for the heads-up." He hung up the phone.

Meanwhile, Harper had just left Quinn's office and ran into Alex.

"Want to talk?" He looked at her and asked.

Harper nodded slightly. She definitely needed to talk to him, if only for Travis's sake.

Alex guided her into his office, which appeared exactly as it had before.Harper immediately noticed a figurine on his computer. It was hers.

He had placed it on his computer.

She walked over and flicked the figurine lightly. "What's the point of keeping this now?"

The figurine fell off the computer, almost hitting the floor.

Alex stepped forward and put the figurine back in its original place.

"To me, your things are very meaningful. I want to keep them forever."

His answer made Harper feel disgusted.

Suddenly, she looked up, her eyes cold, "Alex, have you ever heard the saying, 'A love that comes too late is worthless'?"

"It's just a figurine. I can get one anytime I want. But now, I don't want it anymore. It's all in the past for me."

She wasn't just talking about the figurine; she was talking about their relationship.

Alex was smart and understood her meaning.

His eyes dimmed, but there was still a hint of hope. "Is there really no chance at all?"
