Alex's voice turned icy, dripping with hatred. "Whose child is Harper carrying? She is now three months pregnant. Logically, she was still my wife when she conceived; yet she claims the child is yours!"

Caden was momentarily taken aback.

Alex swung at him again, but this time, Caden caught his fist just in time.

He could discern that Alex was seething with anger and agitation.

When Harper had told him this, her expression must have been icy cold.

It was clear she had truly given up on Alex, not giving him any chance.

Only by doing this could they completely sever their ties, even if it meant making herself the one at fault for infidelity.

Caden looked up, his eyes filled with dangerous mockery. "Yeah, the kid's mine."

Caden stood up, looking down at Alex with endless coldness in his eyes. "From today on, FusionX Company will no longer cooperate with the Lavien Group."He decisively chose Harper, even if it meant refusing to cooperate with the Lavien Group, choosing a mutually destructive outcome.

With that, he turned and left without even a glance back at Alex.

For a moment, Alex was stunned.

A ray of sunlight streamed through the window, stinging his eyes slightly.

He was well aware that Caden had come to see him because of Harper.

When Harper saw Caden, she resembled a child seeking solace.

He recalled Frank asking him, "Does your heart ache? If it does, it means you love her."

He shook his head slightly, as if trying to push the thought out of his mind.

After a while, he stood up and sat back in his chair, his eyes falling on the screen in front of him.

Harper had woken up.

Her profile was so delicate and beautiful, even now, though pallid and colorless, she still had an astonishing grace.

Uncontrollably, he wanted to reach out and touch her face.

At that moment, Caden entered.

He saw Harper's face light up with a joyful smile when she saw Caden.

She had never looked at him like that.

Alex's eyes grew colder as he watched Caden lean down to kiss her forehead. His hand gradually clenched into a fist, as though he wished to smash a hole in the table.

Harper's betrayal was complete; she had secretly borne Caden's child.

His long fingers traced Harper's face on the screen.

"I'll give you one more chance to choose, to become my wife again. If you don't want to, that's fine."

His voice turned dangerous again, "I know he's the one tempting you!"

His finger traced Caden's neck on the screen, slashing it viciously.

"Just like that child, I just need to make him disappear."

"Or."

His brow furrowed, a low, dangerous laugh escaping his throat.

"Or, I could break his legs and make him a cripple. Would you still choose him then?"

Would you still love a crippled Caden?

He shook his head lightly, "No, you wouldn't. You're too smart for that. You'd choose to come back to me." He said confidently.

Just then, on the screen, Harper kissed Caden.

Uncontrollable rage surged through Alex.

He punched the screen hard. With a loud crack, the screen shattered.

Blood dripped from his fist.

Alex thought, 'It's okay; I'll still be the winner in the end.'

At that moment, the door opened.

Frank saw the damaged computer screen and was shocked. "Are you crazy?"

Frank walked over and placed the medical kit on the table. "What exactly are you trying to achieve? Alex, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to understand you. Since the divorce is finalized, why continue to provoke them? Can't you just live peacefully apart?"

"Between you and Harper, wasn't it you who was at fault?" Frank, usually calm, pointed out his mistake bluntly.

It was his affair with Emily that ruined his relationship with Harper.

Usually, Alex would stay silent when Frank questioned him. But today, he let out a cold laugh, his tone unusually icy, "You think it’s my fault?"

"If it’s my fault, then how did she get pregnant?"

His expression was vicious, his words squeezed out through gritted teeth, "That’s Caden’s child."

Frank was shocked by his words and expression.Impossible. He knew the child was Alex’s.

"Didn’t you know? Caden brought her here for a check-up." He was questioning Frank.

Frank knew the truth but kept it from him.

He was the only fool in the world.

Frank stayed silent.

He guessed Harper didn’t want to tell Alex.

She wished for Alex to cease his persistent intrusions, desiring no further connections with him, and thus she lied, claiming it was Caden’s child.

It was Harper’s choice, and he had no right to interfere.

Finally, he sighed deeply, "Alex, listen to me, let her go, and let yourself go too."

If he could do that, at least Alex and Harper could still be friends.

Alex didn’t answer, just looked at him with a cold, sinister gaze, a cold laugh escaping his throat.

Frank knew it was useless to persuade him, so he stopped trying.

Watching him leave, Frank felt a moment of disorientation.
