Jacob stared at her intently, his voice gentle. "Harper, don't you want to know where Caden is? Jeremy's right here. You can ask him anything you want, but he needs to be alive to answer your questions."

In truth, Jacob was nervous. He was afraid Harper would continue to lose control and not listen to him at all.

Harper paused, her brows furrowed, clearly deep in thought.

Finally, she got out of the car.

As she stepped out, her legs gave way, and she nearly collapsed to the ground.

Jacob was quick to catch her, steadying her stumbling body.

He felt a wave of heat.

Looking at her flushed cheeks, he realized she had a fever.

"Harper, you're sick. Let's go back to the hospital, okay?"

Jacob asked, looking down at her.

Harper's eyes were red as she looked at Jacob and shook her head gently.

"I'm not sick. I want to see Caden."

She expressed her thoughts, though her words were slurred.

She pushed Jacob away and almost stumbled as she rushed toward Jeremy.

"Where is he?"

Her eyes were red, but there was a coldness in her gaze."Tell me, where is he?" She repeated, her eyes burning with intensity.

Jeremy laughed loudly.

After a moment, he glared at Harper, his face twisted with anger, his words practically spat out through gritted teeth.

"Aren't you so impressive? Find him yourself."

"You won't tell me, will you?" Harper spoke, "If you harm him, I'll harm Kaitlyn."

She knew how important Kaitlyn was to him. Kaitlyn was his only weakness.

Jeremy's expression changed drastically, his voice altered.

"This is between us. It has nothing to do with Kaitlyn. Besides, Kaitlyn has never harmed you. She's always considered you her best friend. How could you even think of hurting her?"

Harper remained unmoved, her gaze still icy.

"Why can't I? You said it yourself, I'm crazy. So I'll show you just how crazy I can be."

She paused for a moment, then continued, "If you want AI, you can work with me openly and fairly. As long as the terms are appropriate, I certainly wouldn't refuse. Why must you resort to such methods to harm my family and loved ones? If you can do it, why can't I?"

Jeremy's face turned pale, and he was at a loss for words.

He believed that, due to Harper's relationship with Kaitlyn, Harper wouldn't have the heart to harm her. But he was wrong. Harper would do it. For the people she cared about, she absolutely would.

He had done everything for Kaitlyn. If Kaitlyn got hurt because of this, what was the point of everything he had done?

Finally, Jeremy lowered his head, his eyes dim, his voice hoarse.

"I really don't know where Caden is. When I left, I didn't take him. He was in the basement of the villa."

Harper said, "The basement was empty. We searched it."

Jeremy shouted in surprise. "Impossible! His legs were broken. He couldn't have left. He must still be there."

Hearing his words, Harper couldn't stop herself from trembling.

She bit her lip, glaring hatefully at the man in front of her, her voice as cold as ice. "Jeremy, you will pay for this. You will end up just like him, with broken legs, losing everything you love bit by bit."

A smile appeared on her lips, but it only made her look more chilling.

"Remember what I said today. I mean it." With that, she didn't spare Jeremy another glance and turned to leave.

She got back into the car, leaning against the seat as if she had used up all her strength, her body cold, her eyes half-closed.

Jacob started the car, and the engine roared to life.

She opened her eyes again and saw Alex's piercing blue eyes watching her.

She gave a cold smile, then looked away, not giving him another glance.

Alex stood there, blood seeping from his forehead, his arm scraped. The red blood stained his white shirt, making it look even more striking.

In the past, Harper would have rushed over to tend to his wounds, taken him to the hospital, and thoughtfully arranged everything for him.

But now, she didn't even desire to spare a glance at him, as if she harbored no trace of longing for him.

She didn't care about him anymore. She only cared about Caden.

As Harper's car drove away, Alex stood there, watching quietly, as if everything had come to a halt.

He didn't understand. Everything had gone according to his plan. Caden was crippled and disappeared. She should have broken down, faced reality, and come back to the Lavien Group, back to him.

But instead, she was drifting further and further away from him.

The night grew darker, just like his mood.

It seemed she really didn't love him anymore.

Now he realized that Harper's love had always been unconditional. But he hadn't felt it at the time. Now that he wanted to win her back, she was no longer willing to give it.

His eyes darkened, and he felt something trickling down his forehead. He wiped it and saw the blood on his fingertips.

Was everything beyond repair?

But he was unwilling to accept it, just like his current wounds. With the right treatment, they could heal again.

After returning from the scene, Jacob and Peyton took Harper directly to Serenity Health Center.

Unsurprisingly, Harper had a fever again. Since she got sick, she had been having recurring fevers, and her body seemed to be getting weaker.

Frank came out of the operating room to check on her condition. "This isn't right."

Frank started an IV for her, his brows furrowed.

Despite all this time, her condition hadn't improved at all.

Frank said, "It's too late today. Tomorrow, when she wakes up, I'll do a full-body examination."

The next day.

After the test results came back, Frank's face looked even worse.

Harper was moderately anemic.

But that didn't make sense. The medication Frank had prescribed included iron supplements. By all accounts, her anemia shouldn't be this severe.

And more importantly, Harper was showing signs of bipolar disorder. Why was this happening?

"What have you been eating lately?" Frank frowned. He wanted to figure out if Harper had eaten something wrong, causing her body to become so weak.

"She hasn't had much of an appetite lately. She's been eating according to the meal plan you provided." Peyton answered seriously.

Harper's diet had always been strictly followed, so there shouldn't have been any issues.

Just then, a nurse brought in Harper's medication.

Perhaps not expecting Frank to be there, her hand shook, and one of the packets fell to the floor, scattering everywhere.

Frank's face darkened instantly as he looked at the medication on the floor.

He crouched down, examining the pills closely.

"This is lethal!" Frank's expression changed, and he muttered under his breath.
