The conference room was in chaos, but Harper stayed cool and collected.

Getting more annoyed by the noise, Harper looked down and said calmly, "I'll talk about this with Mr. Elikin in private. Meeting's over."

Out of nowhere, one of the board members slammed the table and stood up, clearly upset.

"Ms. Orsini, you need to confirm if we can really take back the Wood Company! FusionX has never backed down before."

Suddenly, a cup crashed to the floor, making a loud noise that stunned everyone.

They turned to see that Caden had accidentally knocked his cup to the ground.

His eyes were cold, and his voice was sharp. "Before the Wright Group showed up, none of you were eager to reclaim the Wood Company. Now that Chloe is back, you're all in a rush? If that's the case, why don't you handle it yourselves?"

No one dared to take on this project, knowing it was knotty and challenging. With the Wright Group involved and Chloe leading the charge, who in their right mind would want to face her?

The board members exchanged uneasy glances until one finally spoke up, "We just want to know how confident you are, Ms. Orsini. We didn't want the Wood Company back before, but things are different now. Someone's challenging us, and we need to respond."

If they couldn't hold onto the Wood Company, FusionX might be next.

Harper stood up and gently patted Caden's shoulder to calm him down. She understood his anger but knew the board members weren't trying to provoke them this time.

Felix closed the conference room door and let out a long sigh. "Ms. Orsini, are you serious about going up against Chloe? If you don't reclaim the Wood Company, the board will use it against you."

Before Harper could respond, Manuel chuckled. "It's just Chloe. It's not a big deal. Harper is Alvina's daughter after all."
