No matter how many times Amelia tried, she couldn't get through to Noah's phone; it just kept ringing busy.

Amelia figured he must have blocked her number.

She felt disappointed, but she wasn't ready to give up. She decided to call Noah's assistant instead. 

This time, the call went through, but the assistant's voice was awkward as he blurted out, "Ms. Martin, didn't I block your number?"

Amelia was speechless.

"Ms. Martin, what can I do for you?"

Amelia replied, "I want to see Noah. Can you pass on the message for me?"

"Mr. Wright is very busy. I'm sorry." The assistant rejected her request directly.

Amelia was stunned. She had never been turned down by Noah's assistant before.

The assistant hung up before she could respond.

Biting her lip, Amelia thought for a moment and then called Lucas.

Since Lucas didn't have her number saved, he answered quickly.

"Who is this?" he asked impatiently.

Luckily, he appeared to be in Noah's company, for she distinctly heard Noah's voice; Noah seemed to be imparting instructions or information of some significance.

Amelia quickly shouted, "Lucas, don't hang up! I need to see Noah, just one last time."

Lucas chuckled but said nothing. Noah, however, heard her and casually replied, "I'm at FusionX Company. You can come."

Amelia agreed and immediately took a cab to FusionX Company.

When she anxiously arrived at the CEO's office, she saw Caden reviewing some documents while Noah and Harper were discussing a business deal.

To her surprise, Noah's face was gentle, a look she had never seen before.

Lucas was munching on an apple, watching Noah and Harper with interest.

For a moment, Amelia thought she was seeing things.

She had never witnessed such a warm scene in real life.

After standing at the door for a long time, Amelia finally took a deep breath and walked in.

"We'll go to the next room," Noah said indifferently, not even glancing at her.

Harper nodded slightly at Amelia, her face expressionless.

Amelia seemed scared and didn't dare to look at Harper. She just followed Noah obediently to the adjacent room.

Once inside, Noah asked directly, "What do you want?"

Amelia took a deep breath and pleaded, "Noah, please let Brock go. I know Harper will listen to you if you say the word. I'm begging you. I'll do anything if you agree. Please!"

As she spoke, tears began to fall uncontrollably.

In the past, whenever she cried, Noah would immediately give in and agree to whatever she wanted.

But now, Noah just looked at her coldly, his eyes devoid of any warmth.

Amelia's heart sank.

After a long pause, Noah finally asked with a hint of a smile, "Are you really willing to do anything?"

Amelia's eyes lit up with hope. She nodded quickly, "Yes, I'll do anything as long as you let Brock go."

Noah frowned, thought for a moment, then looked up and said slowly, "I have a contract here. If you can get Brock to sign it, I'll let him go."

"What kind of contract?"

She was taken aback. She had expected Noah to accept her apology and ask her to become his fiancée again.

Noah said, "Hang on a sec. I'll have my assistant print it out."

Noah sent a message to his assistant.

Soon, the assistant came in with a stack of documents.

Noah gestured for the assistant to hand them to Amelia.

"If he signs this, I'll let him go," Noah said decisively.

Lucas, who had been watching from the door, walked in and took a look. 

It was a stock transfer agreement. It was for a company the Elikin family had registered overseas, which was doing quite well. Brock owned 15% of the shares in this company.

If Brock signed this contract, he would truly be left with nothing.

Amelia stared at the contract, struggling internally.

She had never heard of this company. Brock only cared about his shares in FusionX Company and the Wood Company. He had never mentioned this overseas company, so she surmised it might not be important.

After several minutes, Amelia finally nodded, "Okay, I'll get him to sign it."

In her mind, although Noah was controlling, he had never harmed her.

"In that case, I wish you success, Ms. Martin. Once he signs, I'll let him go."

The term "Ms. Martin" instantly created a distance between them, making her feel a suffocating pain.

She picked up the stack of documents and walked out of the room step by step.

After she disappeared down the hallway, Lucas sneered, "Without those shares, Brock is completely finished. But how could Amelia believe such nonsense? Is she an idiot? Noah, what did you ever see in her?"

Noah shook his head, unable to answer.

Why had he ever been interested in such a clueless woman? He couldn't understand it himself.

Meanwhile, Amelia returned to her hotel in a daze. She threw the contract on the bed, then picked it up again and hid it in a drawer.

She paced around the room, filled with anxiety.

It wasn't until midnight that Brock came back, reeking of alcohol.

Amelia quickly helped him to the bed.

Brock was clearly drunk. He clung to her hand, pleading, "Harper, help me. Give me back my shares in FusionX Company and the Wood Company. I can't take it anymore."

He was on the verge of breaking down.

Amelia felt that Brock had to sign the contract. She naively thought that once he signed it, Brock's issues would be resolved and they wouldn't target him anymore.

Finally, she stopped hesitating and took out the stock transfer agreement.

"Brock, sign this contract," she whispered in his ear, her voice almost hypnotic.

"What?" Brock squinted at the document, slurring, "Stock transfer agreement? What's that? Why do you have it?"

Amelia thought he was too drunk to understand, but he still managed to look at the contract. She coaxed, "Transfer the shares to me, okay?"

"Transfer to who?" Brock sat up unsteadily.

"Transfer to me, to Amelia."

In that moment, she wanted to test his feelings for her.
