Arthur stared at Harper, a cold, mocking smile playing on his lips.

"So, what do you think of him now? Do you really care about him?"

"If you really cared, you wouldn't have spent all your time at FusionX when he needed you the most. In your heart, is power and status more important than anything else, or had you long decided to choose someone else and then cast him aside when he was most vulnerable?

"Harper, listen to me. If you betray him, I won't let you off the hook."

Arthur's words were sharp and filled with menace, his eyes glinting dangerously.

Harper remained calm, a gentle smile on her face.

"Arthur, what do you think I have been doing at FusionX Company? Whose enterprise do you think I am safeguarding? Do you think that with HoloSphere Technologies, I would still care about FusionX Company?"

"Sometimes, you shouldn't take yourself too seriously. I don't care about FusionX Company, although so many people are fighting over it. If I wanted to destroy FusionX Company, I could easily do so now, but I haven't, because I am protecting Caden's legacy."

She paused, then continued, "You claim to be Caden's friend. So tell me, how can we help him recover? Should I stay by his side every day, telling him I love him? Is that enough? Will he believe it just because I say it?"

"Saying 'I love him a thousand times won't help as much as actually healing his legs and helping him stand again!"

"Only when he stands again will he be able to protect me."

Harper looked at Arthur, a mocking smile on her lips. "You can hate me, but you can't insult my love for Caden. You can't dismiss my feelings for him."

"Power and status mean nothing compared to him."

"You don't understand him. Only I do."

Harper's words were firm and sincere.

She was now safeguarding Caden's company, and she spent every day in the lab working on how to help Caden stand again, just as she promised him.

She understood Caden so well that she chose to give him ample time and space to think clearly during this period.

She and Caden were alike. Words of love meant nothing to them; they valued actions and abilities.

Only if they were both truly exceptional could they earn each other's love.

"I will help him stand again. I will restore him to his former self." Harper's promise was resolute.

The light above cast a glow on her face, her eyes unwavering and determined.

Arthur looked at Harper and finally understood what Molly had meant when she said Harper was different.

She truly was captivating. Someone like her was indeed a match for Caden.

Watching her slender back, Arthur began to genuinely appreciate her for the first time.

He truly hoped that Harper could help Caden stand again.

Meanwhile, Neal received a notification to prepare a PowerPoint and speech for the board meeting.

For someone who had only been with the company for two months, this was an unprecedented opportunity at FusionX, and rare even in other companies.

The meeting began.

In the conference room, everyone cast complex glances at Harper, then shifted their gaze to Neal.

Harper sat in the audience, a faint smile on her lips, watching Neal on stage.

Sensing her gaze, Neal looked up and smiled ingratiatingly.

Harper returned the smile, her expression warm.

Felix leaned over and whispered, "What do you think Neal is up to? I heard he bypassed you and gave the information directly to Mr. Elikin. What's his scheme?"

Harper smiled without responding.

"Neal's up to no good," Felix said, seeing right through it.

"Let's wait and see. The show's about to start," Harper replied, her smile deepening.

Her tone was light, but it sent a shiver down Felix's spine. 

He instinctively felt that Neal was in for a rough time today. Offending Harper was a bad move; did Neal not want to stay at FusionX anymore?

After the board members took their seats, Neal adjusted the microphone height, displaying the cover of his PowerPoint on the big screen, and announcing the start of the meeting.

He spoke confidently.

Even Harper had to admit that Neal's plan was highly feasible, covering more than half of the investment budget, with FusionX able to cover the rest.

Some shareholders suggested that Neal should execute the financing plan, and even proposed that Harper assist him.

It was laughable. How could they suggest that a president assist a junior employee? Ridiculous!

But if the plan succeeded, Neal might break FusionX's promotion record, entering the core of the R&D department after just two months.

Such an achievement was rare not just at FusionX, but in the entire business world.

All eyes were on Neal.

When he finished, the board members applauded.

"Ms. Orsini, you should nurture such a capable subordinate," a shareholder spoke up, and others echoed the sentiment.

Harper could sense the sarcasm and coldness in their words. They were targeting her!

Did they think she could only hold her position because of her looks? Did they think she felt threatened by such a talented junior?

FusionX had more than just Harper; there were many capable young people.

Brock sat below, clapping slowly, a mocking expression on his face.

He still believed Harper was only there because of her looks.

Neal humbly thanked everyone, saying it was all thanks to Harper for giving him the opportunity.

The more he said, the more it felt like a jab at Harper.

He clearly bypassed Harper and handed the information directly to Caden. By doing so, he had placed himself in direct opposition to Harper, putting her in an awkward predicament.

Harper's expression remained calm, unchanged, even glancing at Caden.

Caden finally realized something was wrong.

They were trying to embarrass Harper.

Despite all Harper had done for FusionX, the board still refused to acknowledge her. Given the chance, they would still try to oust her from the top.

Caden's smile vanished.

While others applauded, he sighed softly.

He hadn't been paying attention to the company's dynamics lately, losing his sharp observational skills.

Brock laughed and said, "Ms. Orsini, assisting Neal won't be too humiliating, will it? Don't overthink it; we're all just working. Or is Ms. Orsini unwilling to do even this?"

Harper remained still, her gaze steady. She questioned, "Mr. Elikin, what is my current position?"

"Executive President!"

"Then, Mr. Elikin, what are my job responsibilities? Should an executive president assist a newcomer? If this gets out, who will be embarrassed, me or FusionX?"
