No Wife, No Life Chapter 321
Arthur paused for a moment, then spoke calmly, "Send her back to the psych ward."
Sparing Xavia's life was the kindest thing he could do.
At that moment, Xavia's last bit of hope crumbled.
She had thought Arthur might show her some mercy, but she hadn't expected him to be so cold. He was willing to sacrifice her for Molly!
Xavia's eyes widened, bloodshot, her delicate features contorted with rage.
"Arthur, how can you do this to me? We had something once. Are you really gonna watch me die? If I die, I'll haunt you and Molly forever!" Xavia couldn't hold back anymore, cursing wildly, her gaze towards Harper filled with venom. "And you! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be in this mess! You wretched woman! I won't let you off either!"
Harper narrowed her eyes, a cold glint flashing through them. "So, this is the real you. Must've been tough pretending earlier, huh? But don't worry, even if Arthur spares you, I won't."
What did she mean by that? Xavia's arrogance faded, replaced by growing fear.
Harper looked at Xavia like she was a bug, utterly disdainful.
Xavia was stunned, unable to process Harper's words before several bodyguards quickly stepped forward to restrain her.
She shouted in fear, "Harper, what are you doing? Arthur said to send me back to the psych ward, and you're still laying hands on me! Are you nuts?"
She turned her gaze to Arthur, crying again. "Arthur, you see? They want me dead. Do you really want to be around people like them? Harper is vicious, and Molly is even worse. They'll destroy you!"
As she spoke, Xavia laughed and cried, appearing utterly deranged.
Arthur ignored her, only looking at Harper. "Just send her back to the psych ward. No need to go overboard."
Harper snorted, not even considering Arthur's words. "If we don't go overboard, what if she escapes again and Molly gets hurt? Can you handle that?"
Harper's words were firm and resolute, leaving Arthur speechless.
Caden, watching the tense standoff between the two, stayed silent.
Molly was Harper's friend and Arthur's wife. His position made it awkward to speak, so he chose to stay quiet.
In the silence, Harper walked up to Xavia, stomping on her hand and grinding it mercilessly.
Xavia's screams echoed, but Harper's force did not relent, her tone icy and piercing. "I've arranged for a ferry to send you abroad to fend for yourself. Consider it a mercy."
Abroad? The color drained from Xavia's face.
Harper was sending her abroad!
Typically, traffickers sent people abroad. Men and children had their organs harvested and sold to the wealthy, while women became playthings, living a life worse than death until they were tortured to death.
If she ended up there, she'd rather die now!
Xavia trembled all over, helpless against the abuse, with no choice of her own.
She had hoped Arthur would save her, but he had already abandoned her.
Was there really no hope left for her?
Suddenly, an idea struck Xavia, and she shouted desperately, "Arthur, I can help you! I can bring down Edwin. I have evidence of his crimes. If you spare my life, I'll tell you everything!"
Arthur's eyes flickered with a hint of intrigue.
For years, he had been in a power struggle with Edwin, never gaining the upper hand.
Even though he had the ability to oust Edwin, he couldn't completely eliminate Edwin's influence and control the entire Davis family.
If Xavia's claim was true, it was indeed a valuable opportunity.
Arthur was about to speak when Harper interrupted.
She turned to Arthur, exuding an undeniable authority. "That's your Davis family business, not mine. Today, I must deal with Xavia. If you try to stop me, you'll never see Molly again!"
Harper was always resolute when it came to Molly, leaving no room for negotiation.
Though Arthur didn't particularly like Harper, he knew her well and ultimately remained silent.
Harper waved her hand, allowing the bodyguards to drag Xavia away.
Xavia panicked, shouting at Arthur, "Arthur, save me! Edwin is behind all this. He made me do it, Arthur!"
But no matter how much she screamed, Arthur did not respond.
Once Xavia's cries faded, Caden cleared his throat. "Harper, it's late. Let's go home."
He gently held Harper's hand, noticing her fingers were ice-cold.
Harper was always composed and frighteningly calm in serious matters, but she easily lost control when it came to emotions.
Though Xavia hadn't succeeded, she had intended to kill Molly, leaving Harper unable to remain calm.
Caden gently squeezed Harper's palm, and she relaxed, smiling. "Let's go."
She didn't spare Arthur a glance, ready to leave with Caden when Arthur's somber voice sounded behind them. "How has she been these days?"
Harper paused, a hint of sarcasm in her eyes.
She didn't turn around. "What right do you have to care about her? All the pain she's endured is because of you. Whether she's well or not has nothing to do with you."
A few days ago, Harper had learned about Molly's plans to divorce Arthur, and she was furious. After asking Caden, she found out the details.
Over the years, Molly had sacrificed almost everything for Arthur, yet he treated her as Xavia's mobile blood bank!
What a monster!
She should have severed Molly's ties with Arthur from the start!
Arthur lowered his head, his eyes filled with turbulent emotions.
He had been searching for Molly everywhere, but she seemed to have vanished, no matter how hard he looked.
He knew Harper must have had a hand in it.
So, in this situation, he had no choice but to ask Harper directly.
