No Wife, No Life Chapter 306
Xavia walked over slowly, a fake smile plastered on her face. "Arthur, Molly, what are you two doing here?"
Molly's eyes sparkled with amusement. She raised an eyebrow and kissed the corner of Arthur's lips. She noticed his gaze fixed on her and then whispered in his ear, "What if I mess with your first love?"
Arthur glanced at Xavia, feeling a cold detachment. The intense feelings he once had seemed to vanish in an instant.
Arthur stated, "As long as you don't get hurt."
He had done enough for Xavia over the years. When it came to choosing between the person he would spend the rest of his life with and someone who no longer mattered, his wife was the obvious priority.
Hearing this, Molly's eyes curved into a smile as she wrapped her arms around Arthur's neck. Arthur bent down to accommodate her, one hand around her waist.
Meanwhile, the photographer, Doris, paid no attention to Xavia, snapping photos continuously.
Xavia seethed with anger but couldn't help stepping forward again. "Arthur, Molly, what are you shooting here?"
Molly looked at her with a smile. "How can someone so young be so clueless?"
Xavia's manager was stunned. She had never seen anyone speak to Xavia like this. After all, Xavia was a well-known actress in the industry.
But Xavia didn't retort. Her face showed an innocent expression, though her heart was filled with rage. "Molly, I just happened to run into you and Arthur here, so I come over to greet you. There's no need to be so harsh."
Molly chuckled. "Xavia, anyone with common sense can see what we're doing. Can't you tell we're taking wedding photos? Why pretend to be so ignorant?"
"How can you talk like that? You're a celebrity, and Arthur is the CEO of the Davis Group. I really don't know you're here for wedding photos." Xavia's face turned ugly.
Molly's smile faded. "I told you before, I'm his wife. We're dressed up and taking photos here. If not wedding photos, then what? A movie? Xavia, is there any need for this pretense?"
"Besides, you don't need to greet me. Seeing you makes me sick. I almost threw up my dinner from last night. So, stay away from us. I find you unlucky."
Xavia's face grew even darker. She never expected Molly to disrespect her so openly.
"You're so rude. How can you talk like that?"
Molly smirked. "I just did. What are you going to do about it? Don't think I don't know your little schemes. You're just looking for an excuse to talk to my husband, aren't you? Too bad, my husband won't entertain you. You'd better be sensible, so we can all save face."
Xavia remained silent, staring at Arthur. She hoped that if she held on for a few more seconds, he would stand up for her. But this time, he didn't.
Arthur stood there coldly, letting Molly mock Xavia.
After a while, Xavia realized Arthur wasn't going to speak up.
Her heart ached, her eyes welling up with tears, a look of pitiful pleading in them. "Molly, please don't push me too far," she whispered.""Already crying?" Molly seemed bored. "You've done so many disgusting things behind the scenes, and I haven't shed a tear. Yet, here you are crying? An actress indeed, tears on command. Anyone who don't know the true story might think you were the victim."
Xavia's breathing quickened with anger. "What nonsense are you spouting?"
Molly's lips curled into a dangerous smile. "Do you really want me to list everything you've done?"
She sneered. "I'm afraid if I do, you'll start bawling."
Xavia was furious, genuinely crying this time.
"Arthur, are you just going to watch Molly bully me? We grew up together."
No one had ever spoken to her so harshly or treated her so coldly.
Molly's eyes were filled with icy mockery, but Arthur held her hand tightly.
She thought, 'if Arthur defends Xavia, even a single word, I will leave immediately. No more wedding photos, no wedding.'
Just then, Arthur's cold voice broke the silence. "Should I help you bully her instead?"
Arthur's eyes were filled with coldness, looking at her like a stranger.
"Xavia, our childhood friendship was worn out over the years. The day you chose Edwin, we stopped being friends."
His deep eyes held no warmth, only a chilling gaze. "Do you understand?"
Molly's eyes sparkled with a smile. She shook their tightly clasped hands.
Xavia couldn't accept it, staring blankly at Arthur.
She understood nothing!
"You can't treat me like this just because I chose Edwin. We grew up together."
Tears welled up in her eyes; she was unable to accept the truth.
Her manager felt embarrassed and whispered for Xavia to leave before things got worse.
But Xavia stubbornly stood her ground. "Why should I leave? It's Molly who came between Arthur and me. She should leave."
She looked at Arthur with deep affection, waiting for his response.
Arthur, however, frowned impatiently.
Molly laughed. "Others might not know about Arthur and Edwin's relationship, but you grew up with Arthur. Didn't you know they don't share the same mother? Edwin's mother hurt Arthur's mother, yet you chose Edwin."
"You stayed close to Arthur while dealing with Edwin. Did you think I didn't know your intentions? You just wanted to see who could inherit the Davis Group. You thought Arthur was weak and wouldn't live long, so you chose Edwin."
"In your eyes, Arthur is just a pawn who obeys you, providing the best resources and clearing obstacles for you. You call him a childhood friend, but you treat him like a loyal dog."
Molly's anger was palpable.
