Derek's POV

What are we going to do about Landon?" Jace asked. After Landon had helped me in the battle, I had the guards place him into a room and make sure that guards were watching him. I know he helped me, but I don't trust him after he let Vivian out.

"I don't know what I should do. I still don't trust him," I replied

"I think you should let him go," Jace said

"I don't want to talk about that right now. I want to focus on Rose and me," I said

"You ready, son?" My father asked as he walked inside his room. Jason and Mark were right behind him. I had just finished getting ready for the Mating Ceremony.

"Yes, I am, but are you sure you feel alright with us doing it today? I don't want you overdoing it," I asked.

"Of course I am. I have been through worse," My father replied

We all walked out to the backyard of the Packhouse. I was surprised to see how nice it looked, considering the way it looked after the battle.

"This looks nice," I said

"Yeah, the Pack Members have been cleaning and decorating since you and Rose decided to have the Ceremony. They wanted to make sure that everything looked good," My dad said

I walked over to where Rose and I will accept each other as mates for all of our lives and waited for her to arrive.

Rose's POV

"You look so beautiful, sweetie," My mom said with tears in her eyes

"Thanks, mom," I said

"I can't believe my little girl will be fully mated by the end of tonight," She cried.

"Mom stop crying before you make me cry," I said

My father walked into the room. He had been gone at Silver Moon and missed the whole battle. My mom said that he had some business that he needed to take care of.

"Hey Rose," He said

"hey," 

"You look so beautiful," He said 

"Thank you," 

It's time to start the Ceremony," Aunt Lisa said, walking inside my room.

Kate, Kayla, and Ebony walked in front of me. I waited by the door for a moment before it was time for me to walk out. Once it was my turn, I walked slowly. I was worried that I might fall and embarrass myself. 

 I looked around the backyard and was shocked at how beautiful it was. There were beautiful rose petals on the ground. All the old decorations destroyed in the battle were gone and replaced with new ones. I knew that the Pack had to have helped and would be thinking of them later.

Derek met me halfway as and placed my hand in his. He looked so handsome in his black suit. Once we made it to where Uncle Michael was, we stopped and stood by each other. There was a table beside us with a cup on it.

Uncle Michael gave a speech about how mates are a blessing from the moon goddess and that it is important to respect your mate. He said it is important to never take them for granted and always cherish them. The mate bond is for life, and nothing or no one should ever be able to break the bond.

"Do you, Derek Smith, Son of Michael Smith and Lisa Smith, accept Rose Bailey as your mate and future Luna? Do you promise to protect her and never take what the Moon Goddess has blessed you with for granted?" Uncle Michael asked 

"Yes, I, Derek Smith, Accept Rose Bailey as my mate and future Luna," Derek said, staring me in the eye. I could see the truth in what he was saying, which made tears come to my eyes.

Uncle Michael gave Derek the cup on the table, and he took a sip from it.

"Do you, Rose Bailey, daughter of Max Bailey and Lilly Jackson, take Derek Smith as your Mate and Future Alpha? Do you promise to stay by his side and never take what the Moon Goddess has blessed you with for granted?" Uncle Micheal asked 

Yes, I, Rose Bailey, accept Derek Smith as my Mate and Future Alpha," I said.

Uncle Michael gave me the cup, and I took a sip from it just like Derek did.

"Everyone here has witnessed the acceptance of the mate bond from Derek Smith and Rose Bailey," Uncle Michael said, and everyone cheered.

"Congratulations," Ebony said as she and Keith walked over to Derek and me.

We had just eaten, and now everyone was laughing and dancing. 

"Thank you," I said and hugged her.

"We have some Pack business to take care of, so we need to leave," Keith said

"Okay, thanks for coming," Derek replied.

"Hey, sis," Mark said, shocking me. He has hardly talked to me since I took Chloe's powers from her.

"Hey," I said

"I need to leave with Keith, but I would like to talk to you real quick," He said 

I looked over at Derek, who nodded his head in approval

"Okay," I said, and we walked over to an empty table

"I know you think I am mad at you, but I am not. I just needed time to think about everything that happened. You are my little sister, and I love you," he said and hugged me

"I love you too, and I am happy that you are not mad at me," I hugged him back.

We went back to the table where Derek was. As soon as I was close, he pulled me on his lap.

"Well, I need to go. Keith and Ebony are waiting for me," Mark said, and he left. 

"Do you want to dance?" Derek asked, and I agreed

We walked to the dance floor. Derek pulled me close as we swayed to the music. I laid my head on his chest, thinking how much closer I felt to him since we accepted the mate bond.

"What are you thinking about, Flower?" Derek asked

"I was wondering if it was normal to already feel closer to you by just accepting the bond," I said

"I feel the same way," He said and kissed my lips

We danced for two songs and then sat down at the table. Kate and Kayla came over and talked to us. 

"Excuse me, I need to go do something," Derek said, kissing the top of my head before walking away.

"Do you feel different after accepting the bond?" Kayla asked

"I feel closer to him," I said

We talked about other things, and then I heard Derek speak. I turned my head and saw him standing in front of me with a microphone in his hand.

"Rose, you are the best thing that has ever happened to be. You have accepted me even knowing about my past. I am so lucky to have you as my mate and Luna. I am so grateful and happy that you agreed to follow our traditions when becoming mated, even though they are not ones you have grown up with. So I think it is only fair for us to follow one of yours," He said and got down on one knee.

"Rose Bailey, you have no idea how much you mean to me. I would die without you. I want to be tied to you in every way I can. Will you Marry me?" Derek asked, causing tears to appear in my eyes

Everyone waited quietly for my response.

"Yes, of course, I will," I said, and everyone began to cheer

Derek placed the ring on my finger and then pulled me into a hug. 

"You know that a wedding isn't as real as a Mating Ceremony?" Kate said, and I rolled my eyes.

"Okay, now Rose needs to get ready for the final step of the mating process," Aunt Lisa said and pulled me away from Derek, taking me to get ready for the Marking and mating.

I couldn't help but get nervous just thinking about it.
