Rose Bailey: My Mate, My Flower Chapter 28

There's a party tonight! We should go," Kayla stated, after sitting at our lunch table

"Where," Kate asked

"Moon Lake, everyone from school will be there."

"It would be a good idea to go since Rose doesn't know many people here," Kate said.

That was true. I'd been here a month and only knew Kayla and Kate. I spent the majority of my time with Derek. I don't mind, but every now and then a girl needs a break. He is possessive and protective. If a guy stares at me for too long, acts like he's about to break their neck. When I am not with him, he constantly calls. . Sometimes I feel like he is trying to smother me. 

My mother and aunt Lisa both said that it's normal for werewolf males to be protective of their mates, and that because he's an alpha male, it'll be even worse. That it's natural for him to want to be with me most of the time, especially because of how long it took him to find me. 

"Rose, you there?" I heard Kate call me.

"Yeah, what you say"

"I said you should ask your mom and Derek if they care if you go"

"The only person I need to ask is my mom and I'm sure she will say I can go," I told them

"Rose, I think it would be a good idea to tell him where you are going" Kate started but I cut her off.

"I am not going to become one of those girls that ask her boyfriend for permission to hang out. I don't need his permission to do anything. I am an independent woman." I said 

They stared at me for a minute

"You know what Rose, you're right. You don't have to ask his permission to do anything." Kate said

"I don't know Rose. Maybe you should just let him know where you are going" Kayla said. 

She had a worried look on her face.

"Why? He isn't even going to be here until late tonight because of pack business. I'm not giving him the third degree about that. Why do I have to ask him if I can go to a harmless party" I said

"Yeah Kayla, whose side are you on anyway?" Kate said

We both stared at Kayla until she finally responded

"Fine don't tell him. Let's go to a party." Kayla finally said

Four hours later

"No"

"What"

"Absolutely not"

Right now Kate and I are sitting in the kitchen with my mom and Aunt Lisa

"You two are not going to Moon Lake tonight."

"But why not? it's just a harmless party," Kate said pouting

"Just a harmless party. You think that we don't know what goes on at those parties. We started those parties back when we were teens. There is no way we are letting you two go." My mom said

"But Kayla gets to go," I said 

"You two are not Kayla," Aunt Lisa said and then they left the kitchen.

I looked over at Kate who was still sitting there pouting. 

"That's so not fair," I said

"I know, but we can still go"

How! They said no"

"We sneak out duh! It's not like they are going to come to check on us. I mean, does your mom check on you at night" She asked

"Not really"

"So we  leave after everyone goes to their rooms"

I thought about it for a minute. I had never snuck out before but I really wanted to go

"You know what Kate, that's a great idea," I said with a smile

What could go wrong

Six Hours Later

"Thanks for letting me and Nate tag along sis," James said as he took a drink of beer

I took the beer from his hand and threw it on the ground

"No drinking and I didn't have a choice. You threatened to tell on me if I didn't let you go"

"Oh yeah! Well, thanks anyway" he said and I wanted to slap that smirk off his face.

"Look at me Rose," Kayla said and I looked at her in shock

We had been here for four hours. After my brother caught me and Kate sneaking out, we decided to let him and Nathan tag along so that they wouldn't snitch on us. When we first arrived, someone offered us a beer. I didn't like it but Kayla has had quite a few of them along with mixed drinks.

Right now she is standing on the table with only her bra on. I never would have thought that Kayla would be the one to get drunk. She is the quietest and most responsible of the three of us.

"Damn Kayla! You are sexy as hell" Some guy said to her 

"Get down now Kayla," I said and helped her get off the table. 

"Your no fun Rose," She said and sat on a chair

"Um sis, look at Kate," James said and pointed 

I looked over to where he was pointing and saw Kate kissing some guy that I have never seen. Another guy was behind her. His hands were starting to go up her shirt.

"No! leave her alone" I said and went over to Kate

My brother followed me over to her.

"Hey man get away," James said

"Sorry man, she came up to us," the guy said, holding his hands up

I looked over at Kate and she didn't look like herself. She could barely stand by herself and she was sweaty. I looked at her eyes and she could barely keep them open.

"Is she alright? She doesn't look that good" James said

"I don't know! We need to get her out of here" I said

I looked over to where I left Kayla sitting and she was gone

"Where the hell did she go?" I said annoyed

I looked around to see if I could spot her and found her in the lake. She had none of her clothes on.

"Oh my god! Is she naked" James asked in shock

"Yes she is," I said and went over to get her out of the lake

There were a lot of guys and girls watching as Kayla and some others stripped out their clothes and jumped in the lake. I knew when Kayla woke up she would be so embarrassed by the way she acted.

"Come on Kayla, let's go," I told her

"Why? The water feels so good" She said

"Please Kayla can you get out? We need to take Kate home. She is sick."

"Fine" She finally said and got out of the water and put her clothes on.

"How are we going to get home?"

"I'll give you a ride" The guy that was kissing Kate said

"We're good," I said and started to walk away

"Hey, you bitch! I am trying to help you. The least you could do is thank me." He said and grabbed my arm

"Hey don't talk to my sister like that" James said

"What are you going to do little boy," He said to my brother

I was starting to get worried. 

"Stop it, James! Let's just go" I said

"Yeah boy, you better get going now" The guy that was groping Kate said as he stood by the other.

James was about to say something but someone else beat him to it

"What is going on here" I heard a husky voice say, sending a shiver through my body.

I turned around and saw Derek looking at the two guys with a frown.

"Hey, Alpha Derek everything is ok. These two are causing problems and we were putting them in their place." The one that held my arm said

"How dare you speak to my mate and her brother like that, John." Derek spat. He looked like he was about to attack them at any moment. 

"Your mate? I didn't know you found your mate '' one of the guys said. He was shaking and stuttering. He looked like he was going to pee his pants at any moment.

"Yes, and you disrespected her. Apologize to your Luna now! You better hope she accepts your apology." He said to both of them. He sounded so powerful that I almost bowed my head.

"They both kneeled at my feet

"Sorry Luna, please forgive us" They both begged at my feet

I was starting to feel uncomfortable with the way they were talking to me. Like I was royalty or something.

"I forgive you."

"You two are lucky. Leave and tomorrow we will discuss your punishment for your disrespect" Derek said and they ran off

I looked over at James, who looked confused. He still didn't know werewolves were real and that we were living in a house full of them. I had to figure out what to tell him. I hated lying to him but didn't want to go behind my mom and Jason's back and tell him everything. I would definitely be having a talk with them. Letting them know he deserved to know the truth.

"Hey, Derek! I didn't know there were two of you" Kate said and fell to the ground

"What is wrong with her?" Derek asked 

"I don't know! I think she drank too much" I said

Just then, Kayla got back on the table and started dancing

"What the hell, Jace get her down," Derek said

I looked over and saw Jace go over to Kayla. I didn't even notice he was here. Jace got Kayla off the table, while Derek picked up Kate.

"Let's go," Derek said to us

We all headed towards where the cars were parked

"Jace, take James and Nathan with you. I will take these three with me. Rose got in the car" Derek said in an angry voice that I didn't like.

I went to the passenger side and got in the car, while Derek and Jace put Kayla, and Kate in the back. Derek got in the passenger side and shut the door. He didn't say anything just started the car. Jace followed behind us the whole way back

Derek didn't speak to me the whole way home. When we arrived, Jace came over and took Kayla to her room. Derek took Kate to hers and I went up to our room. 

I felt bad for not telling him about the party. I felt bad for even going to the party. If I didn't go, none of this would have happened. Derek was mad at me and I didn't like him mad at me.

Derek came into the room and went to the bathroom without even looking at me. I heard him start the shower. He stayed there for about thirty minutes and finally came out. I looked at him but he still wouldn't look at me

"I'm sorry! I should have told you about the party" I said

He didn't say anything, just walked over to the bed and lay down. He turned so that his back was facing me. He never slept like that. I always slept with my head on his chest.

"Did you hear me"

"Yes, I did. I'm going to sleep" Was all he said.

I felt a pain in my chest but tried to ignore it. I lay down and tried to sleep but couldn't 

Soon I felt a tear fall from my eyes. Why did I go to that party?
